Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW + Vellum Card Completed!

Hullo everyone .. well another WOYWW or What is On Your Wednesday is upon us.. yes! amazingly another week has passed. For the initiated, to see just what WOYWW is about do pop over to our hostesses desk Julia of the Stamping ground and see for yourself! So here is my desk!
Some of you might be forgiven for thinking you have seen this desk before as it rather similar to the one I showed two weeks ago! I had to interrupt the making of this ultra cute Bugaboo image card for my great nephews very first birthday to make the card shown below. But now I do have a card layout chosen which is the sketch on the right (but going to flip it have decided) near the monkeys and their WOYWW badge. To left far bottom corner is new Versafine ink pad in Imperial Purple .. I love these pads they emboss so beautifully, and my fav. navy blue pad is one of these and as love purple have decided to get this one .. not tested yet.
Next exciting image is of the newbie in my craft cum computer room. I have inherited this cast off of a swivel draftsman chair which is nicely raised for my desk which is standing height as do most of my crafting that way. As you can see it is in need of new covering and those red colours dont quite go, so have some material saved from old curtain one side were okay other side had worn out. Plan is to cover it ...so watch this space. On left behind it is my cutting station.. an old TV cabinet from 1960's which my dad turned into a bookcase... now has crafty items stored in it. Have a big shot as well as cuttlebug as thought the CB was broken (2 years ago now!) and then someone on WOYWW sorted me out on it so the Big shot is used for certain things and CB for others!
Here is the card I was working on last week's desk (Nat look away). Has La la Corners, the HB greeting is Memory box, Sarah & 18 is Olivia CB alphabet, the 18 underlay gold is from SB labels 8 fancy set. The music stamp is from Victorine originals. Has special poem inside which is on my desk today, under the print out for Hudson's greeting.
Last image of the day is of the large seas we have been having up and down the cost at the moment though they are dropping now. Sadly we have visitors who dont realise how dangerous these seas are. A Scandinavian visitor was swept out to sea at 5pm yesterday, at South West Rocks south of here, and north at Ballina two days ago, a young Asian man was also swept out to sea.. not first and sadly wont be last. And yes has happened right at this spot in last twelve months, usually visitors but occasionally even a local may have it happen.
Well, thanks so much every one for popping over for peek and chat and may God bless your day wherever you may be. Shaz in Oz.x

The card will be fab - I think I have that purple ink pad somewhere and seem to remember it's gorgeous.. lol! Great photo, shame that people don't always realise how dangerous the water is sometimes. Helen 6

Covering chairs is not my idea of fun. Have tried it and failed! But then sewing is not my idea of fun either. As for the dress form it is going to be an artwork in an instillation I am doing for a steampunk coffee shop. If they don't like it then it will become a dumping ground for my clothes!

Well done for planning to recover the chair, looking forward to a pic of the finished project. Lovely card as always:) Thanks for your thoughts on selling craft.

What a beautiful card, Shaz! I haven't done much with vellum but you've made a simply splendid job of it and I love the music theme. I've got a red swivel chair like that which I now use in the office rather than in the ARTHaven as it's not very comfy for me to sit on (hence my office work always being neglected lol lol!!!) Your photo of the sea is beautiful... So tragic about the lives lost. Beneath its beauty we always need to remember that the sea is an untamed beast and we should respect it. We have a river near us which is one of the most beautiful in England but I've heard that it claims at least one life a year, as the currents are treacherous.

Thanks for your visit and your nice comment - unfortunately I don't think I can finish the card before the post goes today, so I'll send an e-card to the recipient and tell her the real one is on its way!

Happy WOYWW,

Hi Shaz, lovely cards this week, and you are going to have fun covering the chair - you could make it like a shower cap with velcro to hold it in place. Sad about the sea tragedies. Thanks for the glycerin advise I'll check it out. I figure the mini DIs would be ok to give me a wider range of colours. Thanks for visiting, Happy WOYWW and have a great week RobynO#22

Gorgeous card girl! Love the fabric you have for your chair as well. The photo of the sea is just beautiful. I love being by the water but would not enjoy being out in it. I'm not a strong swimmer and therefore very careful about being in the ocean!

LOVE that material for recovering the chair - it will look fabulous!
Spectacular HB card, tempting me to look into 'Silhouette' cutting machine .... only tempting as I 'live' in a 6ft square room!!!

Evening Shaz,
I love that card, I remembered seeing something about stamping on vellum and now I know where. Beautiful card from Aus as usual.
And I love the sea, super picture, just love God's ower in a heavy sea.

Good morning Shaz. Another beautiful card today. What a great find with the chair and it will be perfect once you recover it. Although your picture is indeed amazing, showing just a fraction of the power of God in those waves, it's very sad to hear of the tragedies that take place there. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your home with us.
Blessings,
Betsy

Hi Shaz, I so agree about faffing with things, especially die cuts that won't! Not so much having patience with it, as being determined not to have spent good money on something I can't use, lol. Spell binders are NOT cheap! Beautiful pic of the sea, it is terrible when people lose their life in this sort of thing, but people do have a habit of having no respect for the sea. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #22 xx

Beautiful card. Lovely scenery. Sad that people do not heed warnings about how dangerous water can be. Even on the beaches of Florida, people ignore the fact that undertow is strong and dangerous. Lives are lost because of carelessness. TYFS

Hello Shaz. Lovely coloured card coming on there. Glorious card with all that gold and music. Fantastic sea! I just LOVE huge seas - the power, the beauty of them is stunning. I could sit for hours just watching as enormous waves crash in!
Thanks for visiting. Yes, indeed. What an amazing gift!
Take care. God bless you, my friend.

I certainly don't remember from week to week what crafter's desks look like! I don't even remember what my desk looks like! LOL! Love the colors in the card, very well coordinated! Love your ocean view. So sad how people can't recognize danger. Happy WOYWW!

Happy WOYWW, Shaz! That chair look veyr comfy and when you're done with the cover it will be good as new and so color coordinated!
I love those fancy corners in your card!
The sea does look rough! How sad that visitors don't realize just how strong the waves can get.

Hi Shaz,

I've heard that those seats in the swivel chairs pop right out. The fabric you are going to use will be perfect for the space.

The card in the first photo of your desk is adorable. I need to get some kid-oriented stamps.

Always love to see the photos you take of the ocean - would love to feel the sand between my toes.

Happy belated WOYWW

Hi Sharon, Thanks for your recent visit. We've both been MIA for a bit, and I'm hoping it was just cause you were busy, and not feeling poorly. Loved your vellum card. Especially liked those gold corners trimming it up so spritely & glimmering. That MB die sentiment is luscious too, and somebody is going to just love this pretty thing. TFS the beach scene, and yes, it is sad when people don't realize the dangers of water & riptides. Beautiful to look at, but one must exercise caution too. Very impressive waves. Hugs & Happy wkend - which is pretty close!

Hi Shaz, late as ever but so nice to read your post however late I am. The chair looks comfy and will look fab with that fabric covering it.

The card is beautiful - the music not background is lovely.

Stunning photo of the sea - such a shame that there are tragic stories associated with such beauty.

Thanks for sharing.
