WOYWW, Scrappy Mo'S Christmas Challenge

Hi everyone, sorry not blogged much of late, but quickly popping in for WOYWW for Workdesk Wednesday over at Julia's place!
My desk:
This will be brief as doing on mobile at minute, as not 100%. It's time for Scrappy Mo's Christmas challenge or Rudolph Day, it runs till 31st Oct.
So my desk shows work... colouring, with lovely Prisma set my sister bequeathed me when she upgraded, using some Bugaboo images. I really love this nativity set, going to enjoy using them!!!
Top right in image also shows snippets pile of cardstock from previous Christmas year’s bonbons, stamped on it with Prickly Pear Nativity image, then die cut with Impression Obsession Bauble die set. Wow I love this die too. I bought it as wanted hanger bow and top to go on number of other bauble dies I have. Then brains kicked in and thought I could stamp on the actual bauble too. It was tricky doing it on glossiness of bonbon snippet but managed it.
Touched up with black texta where ink wouldn't take.
Finished card below.
Verse is a Digi in my Christmas box from previous years as is card base, handy++ :D
Okay, nearly done super brief, just as Julia likes it... here's my Aussie Shot taken on phone when out walking last week. There are two surf ski riders chasing waves in middle of image.
Hope you're well, folks, I'll try pop by everyone who calls, but really struggling to do it these days, so just doing my best.
May God bless you in your day wherever you may be, and thanks so very much for all your kind encouragement even when I'm not a good blogger.

Bizzy Bec's DT - Side Step card With 3D Images

Hullo there everyone .. back again with another DT post for Bizzy Bec's. Branching out into the unknown today, with a side step card!! For a very special birthday, you see! Emily was SIX! Here is a peek!
I'll be perfectly honest I like simple layouts and these fancy folds are not simple layouts!! Bec has a great die that makes variations on this side stepping card, it is here! Don't have it, but do have simple template. Used it for guide. Here working it out on my scoreboard. Took two goes scoring to get it right.. wanted it bigger than template.
And being me, I went for complex everything else too! I used the Frantic Stamper Dies - Chevron Borders & Edgers (2) to make a whole sheet for background of alternating chevrons! Glued them down one at time, kept them in order as cut the individual ones, so as to keep *colour graduations, yes fiddly plus but great effect. *used pre-coloured sheet.
Base for image done, then cut it with largest die of SB Pierced Rectangles

Stamped two images (one for base, one for 3D image) of the Wild Rose Stamps - Dragon Birthday in Versafine Black Onyx, and clear heat embossed.
Die cut a pink scalloped base with Spellbinder Petite scallop (Disc.) and one image with Cottage Cutz Stitched Oval die (they fit spellbinder oval dies very well).
While still in stitched die, ink coloured the background to match colours used on other image already coloured with Tombow markers, and gold watercolour. Fussy cut around the coloured dragon image, cutting into the folds of the image, and then lay on shaping mat face down, shaped the image  with shaping tool to get 3D effect with minimal layers.
Attached to base image with silicon glue and allow to dry.
See here for Tutorial to do it this way.

Completed side step card:
(candle stamp on side step is from House House Birthdays Balloon stamp set, they were shaped and silicone glued too).
Six 6 is from CB Olivia die set, "th"
is from Impression Obsession Greetings die from birthday - this set here!

**Wild Rose Stamps - Dragon Birthday
(**bought Aug '17 from Bec, still available online, but not listed, so please ask for it)
Tombow coloured pens
Close up of the image, the gold paint used is Finetec Watercolour metallic set. Just loved this image, right down to wee crown on Miss Mousey's head.
This rather poor verse below is what was put on the back of the card, digital print out, on DP, cake image courtesy of Google.!
Now to the  Aussie shot .. a very clever photographer in our family, Greg, took this from their verandah.. amazing sky and reflections too, isn't it .... truly the sky shows the glory of God as the Psalmist says.

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the firmament shows His handiwork." Psalm 19:1

WOYWW Calligraphy Gilded Tissue, Pineapple Smiles!

Mm! It is now past Wednesday, however I've still a desky share - or What is On Your workdesk Wednesday.. pop over to our Julia's desk for the link up, at Stamping Ground!
I started this post last week for WOYWW, but became ill, so will utilise it.. but edit somewhat!
This week's desk, my practise with dip pen and ink for Eamon sleeps here (what bugs me is in my practice I wrote Eamon perfectly but froze halfway through his name looking at space thinking, eek! Not going to fit it in, and messed up ... should have taken deep breath, prayed then continued!!)
Must admit was nice to be doing dip pen work again, must get back into it.. Have finished it but wont share it yet although they dont look at my blog.
Second desk, this is a direct copy of kookaburra, I edited image (not sure of source, as downloaded about four years ago). Removing colour from image, making it a very pale pencil sketch, printed it in draft on sheet to outline and colour. Used other images for guides also as you can see.
Tip for fellow crafters with white pens. Firstly I do not recommend Signo which have heard others recommend..  always gets clogged -> unusable, in end, so now in bin. Before it was binned however I did the following process, which DID work on Gelly Roll white which do like (it has never to my memory clogged).
BUT lid was accidentally knocked off as pushed in and probably out of drawer which it is in, so not on tight. Result->dried up!
Method. Boil up water, as if making a cuppa! (mm, do one at same time!) place in cup, then add white gelly roll, with tip down.. without lid on it.
Heated the water twice (removed pen to reheat in microwave),
then left it overnight. This afternoon in answer to prayer, + above method, it works just fine.
Nil response from Signo. I know other folks recommend it but I did not like this one.

EDIT to above tip: While ever it was submerged in water ie moist, as shown, the pen works, but once lid is put on and is put away it returns to unusable state.
So I'm just re-immersing it as shown in image each time I need to use it at the present. This doesn't take long, just add really warm water allow to cool about twenty mins, then it seems happy to write away.
Technique of crumpled tissue and embossing .. to see technique look here! A favourite technique - this sheet was one done on this post.
Used SB Fancy (majestic or royal something?) Circles, with memory Box Blushing branch die. Love this verse. It is from WAW, was sent to Mrs D. via Margaret of Glitterglue. "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." He fails not!
NOW TO THE ... Aussie shots ... be warned photo heavy!!!

Pineapple, patch, four plants, in total, the one at front has new baby and it is the one with flowers below. Pineapple ready for picking behind it and it has sucker growing up from it as new plant after this is picked the mother plant dies.

Another baby there are two suckers here and one has shot a fruit.. they are brommeliads and at this stage in the flower you can see that.
Picked pineapple about a foot or 30 cm long, that is a ruler at front.
Below: Test whether a pineapple is ripe in shops and on plant by whether you can easily pull out the centre leaf.

1.332kg with skin and top, peeled below it is 776g or 3/4 a kilo of fruit and yes it is sweet and very nice. We were having a family BBQ so it went down very well!

The roses are flowering downunder as spring has really sprung so here are some bunches in house.. I also take them to family in nursing home. This red bunch and pink was particularly fragrant as they are all strongly scented.

Well, its almost into Friday here in about six hours so going to join up with Annie's Friday smiles too, lots of smiles here!

Thanks so much every one for popping over for a peek and chat!May God bless your day wherever you may be.

Anything Goes challenge - Background Embossing with Die

Hullo there everyone .. back again with another DT post for Bizzy Bec's. I am revisiting the Frantic Stamper Saharan Screen Die (do check out Bec's amazing prices). This time I’m Embossing AND Die cutting it. See THIS CARD here card where I used it as stencil..

Used canon Glossy photo paper, blending solution put on generously and added various re-inkers - some distress some dye inks, and moved colour around with cling wrap then removed and *heat dried it. Needs a bit of heat drying to set it.
With large paint brush (just out of edge of photo) splattered the gold paint over the surface.
Using rubber embossing mat, in cuttlebug, I dry embossed the scrap bit of cardstock to make card top. Then die cut the gloss cardstock, which I had backed with double sided tape. In jigsaw like fashion added it to embossed background
Finished card, also used Impression Obsession Get well soon, and MB Lavish branch. This MB die is discontinued, I discovered, but there are other items available from Bec which are similar..
Now don't forget to pop over  HERE at Bizzy Bec's and check out the other DT gorgeous creations, and please do join in ANYTHING GOES September CHALLENGE - to win that prize.
Pop by Bec's store, too, for her great bargain prices
