Christmas Day 2018 + WOYWW #499 (Day early )

I love Christmas, I realise not everyone does, but even when I am sad, all Christmas things make me smile.
Most of all for me as a Christian is the Christ of Christmas that makes me smile. We really dont know when Christ was born and to be honest it doesn't really matter (if it did, we would know).
I like the scripture of Christmas to be on my cards so use a lot of digis. This blue background, so effective but so simple. Snippet of silver gloss with royal blue alcohol ink and blending solution, overlaid with crumpled cling wrap. Used my snippets gift of Nativityscape, which I so love!
The reason I love this verse below is because it gives the real reason of Christ's coming.
He came to be our Saviour from our sin. He paid the penalty so we didnt have to.. if we but believe on Him by faith.
Christmas is a picture of love.. true LOVE.
John an apostle , who wrote these words, was an eyewitness to Jesus ministry, His death, to His resurrection and in His appearances for 40 days afterwards, including His ascension to heaven. An eyewitness who saw much more than this.
Jesus Was born to die, and rise again.
One day as He promised He is coming again.
Will we be ready for Him?
So many at His birth, His first coming, were not ready.
Now to the desk shots... for WOYWW or What is on Your Workdesk Wednesday. So let's look at desks of the world with Julia of The Stamping Ground HERE .. to my desk(s).
Using Emboss resist technique. Fern is Elusive Images stamp about 6 years or so old. Ink DI Antique linen base colour, then Tumbled Glass + Cracked Pistachio on ink blending mat. Cards a request pressie, shown below in two colourways. "Just for you" Sue Wilson die and Scallop Edge is a CCD.
Here's the completed cards!
And here's a surprise in mail on Christmas eve! From Jo (or Twiglet). Isn't that one amazing card? Love robins! And one of Tilly Tea Dance's sheep pictures.
Don't you love it? I do!!! Sooo cute. Reminds me I'm a little lost sheep and the Lord Jesus the Good Shepherd came to find me! Thank you Jo and Maxine!
Adore your handiwork!
Look what my crafty friend sent me?! Aren't they droolworthy!
I am so very blessed of God!
Now some Aussie pickies to close:
These pretty parrots are called galahs and they're seed eaters .. I notice they leave the verge across the road unmowed for longer these days. Below is a glorious sunset. You can see rips in those waves.
Praying every blessing upon all who read this, especially those who may have some missing faces at their table for Christmas.
Our Father God cares and I pray you may seek His comfort at such times.
"..Great tidings of comfort and Joy."
Hugs, Shaz in Oz. X

Last Snippets for 2018 Christmas

Well, in two days it’s Christmas!! Do love this time of year. Not everything is done here, but getting there, quickly popping into share my last snippets for the year.
It certainly is curious that now I’ve made all my cards for this year, I’m having a rolling start on next year! I saw this idea perfect for a pile of white snippets strips, so just had to make them, they were quite quick.
Two years ago I bought this lovely digi paper of “Scottish tartans”, or that’s what the files are called. I’ve printed out some of four of the six colourways.
I’ve mainly used Stampendous stamp of Luke 2:10. Isn’t it beautiful? I do love the scrollwork, added mixture of pearls and liquid pearls.
Also you’ll notice two of them are debossed in two silver snippets. The die used is a CCD given me by my Florida friend Marilyn. The strips I cut the die piece from were just a fraction too narrow, but as I had a big pile of them I wasn’t going to cut any wider ones!
Don’t think most folks will notice the left edge. As you can see I’ve made quite a few. Two are dry embossed not cut on a scrap of silver card.
I’m also busy making some other cards, requests, for presents but will share them on Tuesday, (or later?) on my Christmas Day post. I’m doing WOYWW a day early, either that or not at all.
Now to the Aussie shots.
We are having stormy weather so the water today isn't this turquoise. Storms with sunshine, and usual summer humidity, so we won’t be having a hot dinner but usual cold one for Christmas Day.
I’ve only ever had two hot Christmas meals in my life, once when 8 years, at my Yorkshire nanna’s and then in 1970’s when in our “new” house, we had roast pork, with all the trimmings, I remember that! So here’s more sunshine folks.
Just love the sky in this one! The heavens do show the majesty of God's creation!
Praying every blessing upon all who read this, especially those who may have some missing faces at their table for Christmas.
Our Father God cares and I pray you may seek His comfort at such times.

WOYWW Google+ Ends 2019 *Christmas

A week today and Christmas will be over! As it is Wednesday it’s time again for WOYWW or What is on Your Workdesk Wednesday. So let's look at desks of the world with Julia of The Stamping Ground HERE .. to my desk!

Well as you can Christmas is still on the desk!! My brain had ideas going in all directions! The Nativityscape was the lost one from few weeks back! Found it. 😊 One out of view has some diecuts given on a brayered background. Love my brayer. Tartan is a digi paper set, saw this card on pinterest and realised it was a CCD that my friend Marilyn in Florida sent me! A pain to die cut but oh what a nice combo with tartan. Or plaid as US call it. I don't like that name. It makes me think of plain and they aren't that! We and Scots call it tartan so that does me! I only needed one more card but just kept going. 2019 is coming! I make all year around. Don't like rush like I had this year.
Some wonderful cards I've received.
And bottom middle right is Shaz Silverwolf, far bottom right, Marilyn, Anne in France above hers, then Betsy in Spokane, Margaret from WOYWW, Brenda in US, far right and 85y.o Iris from Lincoln, bottom left. So nice everyone! Thank you!
Now to the Penny Black stickeroos from last week. Made quickly and easily. I embossed background in Grand Calibur with 5 x7 folder by Ultimate crafts. Swirls EF is Embossalicious.
Adjusted dies to fit images and extend use. All greetings are digi.
This is an upcycled card too.
Like this simple use!
Next is a non desk item.
Re Google+, in case you use Google + and you don’t know, it is to be phased out next year (in Aug I think it is). It is being done gradually even now. There are things you need to be aware of if you solely use Google+.
This post here HERE explains it particularly well why and what and when, and how in the comment at the end of the post, where it has a link to explain how it is done and to the tool called Takeaway that Google has made to help you do it.
I’m just putting this out there so more folks know about it, as it s not commonly shared that I’ve seen.
Now to Aussie photos!
My thoughts and prayers are with a family from Sydney. I ended my Friday post by saying how dangerous our beaches were and people needed to swim on safe & patrolled beaches. Late yesterday afternoon  3 men from Sydney were drowned at a beach 10 mins  north. Its a notoriously dangerous beach and I'd never swim at it. You can see in this photo above how tricky it can be. This beach is called the Gallows. You need to know how to read the surf here at this spot! The one below looks safe but its not patrolled and someone drowned there last year. If you live by the ocean you know this.
Enjoy with respect.

Well, that's my share.
I'll be back on Sunday and Christmas day, will do WOYWW a day early, as wont have time on Wed. 😊
Praying every blessing upon all who read this, especially those who may have some missing faces at their table for Christmas.
Our Father God cares and I pray you may seek His comfort at such times.
"..Tidings of comfort and Joy."

Today's thought:
"God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Christ, our Saviour
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan's power
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy..."

Friday Smiles + Butterfly Challenge with Flower Fairy

It's Friday and have a few things to share, so thought I'd join up with Annie's Friday Smiles over here. I'm also sharing an entry for Mrs A.'s Butterly Challenge Here... and its Fairies Gnomes and Angels Mrs A wants to see. Here is my entry.
As you can see I've taken a brayered snippet on a piece of gloss card, stamped it with Lavender Flower fairy wood mounted stamp from 1990's in Versafine Black Onyx then iridescent EP. The Lawn Fawn Tartan DP went with image perfectly, frame out of stitched Ovals and SU oval punches with pre-stamped greeting.
On Wednesday's desk I had a sheet of Penny Black Stickeroos out to make last minute cards. These are two of the five. ODB lacy square die on first. Second card is with adapted dies some CCD and Xcut. Made them longer or shorter to match images. Tad fiddly that's all.
Now to my Friday's Smiles, the first were from a walk in an old part of the city when in Sydney last month. One is a beautiful old home with roses and bougainvillea in front yard .. very pleasing to the eye. The second was quite run down but alsobhad a  stunning bougainvillea as well. What made me smile was the fake parrots on the fenceline at the right! 😊
Last two photos are of our local beach about 7 mins walk from here, one looking south the other looking north. As you can see it gets very crowded here! 😁 Well, it will do once the school holidays begin.. it gets pretty busy in the mornings, you see lots of families and bright beach umbrellas on the patrolled southern section of the beach. Our beaches can be hazardous.
Well, that's my share for today. Don't forget to pop over and see some more smiles at Annie's and wonderful cards at the butterfly challenge!
May God bless your day and thanks for popping over and saying hi.           Shaz in Oz.x

Today's thought:
The birth of the baby Jesus in a stable, a manger was to share with us His humanity.
He's God's Son Who became a man.. "..was tested in all points as we were, yet without sin" as Hebrews says.
Love was the key.
God's LOVE, for God is LOVE.
* God so loved that He gave
* Gave His only Son
* If we believe in His Son
*We will not perish
*But have everlasting life!
How good is that?
Have we really believed that?

Christmas is coming! + WOYWW

Yes!! it is Wednesday and time for WOYWW or What is on Your Workdesk Wednesday. So let's look at desks of the world with Julia of The Stamping Ground.. to my desk!
Well, the most important desk items are two cards I'll share first of all below! I've mailed all mine now, phew! These I'm working on are to hand out and are the last four cards in the making .. they're with a sheet of Penny Black stickeroos I'm mounting for embossed fronts of four blank cards. The one at the front centre I'm making corners for out of SB Marvellous square die. One card on left done, two more on the make. I've made twenty cards since last Wed. Will blog ones on last weeks desk. They looked great.
Card by Thomas in Oz.
Card by Emily in Oz. Aren't they brilliant? Mind you, I am biased. 😊 I think Great-poppa would love them too.
Last week's acetate snippets backgrounds with Sugarpea Nativityscape a gift from Miss Di of the Snippets playground!! (As were stickeroos from 5+ years ago I think!). All but base is snippets!
Now this next set of cards is thanks to someone at the WOYWW crop! I picked up this sheet of card toppers because it had robins on it. The sheet also had the lovely borders! So thank you whoever it was! All used Crafters Companion Christmas 5 x7 EF and snippets of red/ green. Verses are digis.
Now to the Aussie shots! Some Christmas colour from the NZ Christmas bush in flower.
Some Agapanthus near the creek. Planted bed by local council, not wild as some think.
Some Aussie summer sunshine for those deprived of it in Northern winter climes. There's a grassy path you can go for a wander and warm yourself up!! 😊
Well, that's my share for the day. I'm truly sorry I did very little commenting last week but intend to make up for it this week!!
God bless your day dear kind friends, thank you so much popping by and saying hi.
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x

This week's thought again reflects the Christmas theme.
" The Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the World." This is the whole reason for Christmas, not only of the babe in the manger. God's Son Jesus was born to die and rise again that we might live eternally by simple faith in Him.
