Sorry folks. Things have very busy, am slower so things take longer - you know the story! 😄 Been making lots of cards, but not sharing.. here's a quick post for Desky share for WOYWW - What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday, over HERE 😁 at Julia's, the first one for 2022!
Today sharing my desk from few days ago. Yes, you can see new calligraphy textas, permanent, yay! and paint pens, as I needed to go to Officeworks - dangerous!
I've been asked to teach some younger family the calligraphy course I've not done for years! So it is going to be most interesting as some is planned to be on Zoom! I have done the intro and lesson 1, while Brisbane family are here over Christmas/ New year.
Next are some cards done not shared.
These are a set of easy and light cards, for overseas mailing. I made quite a few of these using a Christmas topper, a pass it on card. The golden rectangle frame is an unused, NBUS Bo Bunny set from memory. Had for years, waiting for the right card!
Then are some of the alcohol an acetate cards, these are the two Christmas designs, the dies are old CCD, the acetate alcohol ink technique was shared back here. The verses are Digi I’ve made myself, and used SB older dies fir those. I’ve a lot of discontinued items, crafting for decades.
The last card is for challenge at Beccy’s place.. see here!
Special birthday was due quite a while back now, so using also a new to me Beccy’s Digi, it was bought on a flashback sale, I think. Miss 10 loves her ballet, and pink, so the idea was to make this cute image into a spinner card.
However, I was really unwell at time (tooth infection), so did best I could. Created image too large, tricky with the mice to spin around with Ellie. Realised too late to manage to resize, reprint, recut out two shapes in my unwell state.
It morphed into this simpler design. Still loved it but was disappointed, it would’ve made a great spinner card. Greetings are on computer.
Now to Aussie shots, it is summer here and some lovely skies these were taken by family member up at my sisters, you can see the contrasts.
My flowers are magnificent and this is one of multitude of rose bunches this season, the rains and extra TLC have contributed to them.
Thanks so much for popping over especially if you have time to say HI. I will do my best to return your kind encouragement.
May God bless you and all whom you love, in 2022. Especially praying for blessings abounding in health dept. - for us all!
Prayer hugs,
Shaz in Oz.x
Thought for the Day:
Today this verse popped into my mind, as I opened my mail with a loving missive from a friend.
so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."
Proverbs 27:17
I love the book of Proverbs, next to Psalms in OT.
There are 31 chapters, so I used to read one chapter, the first on first of month, etc (x 12 in a year), for about 20 years. So a lot of times!
Read a Proverb a day, you get to know them well!
I love this verse.
It talks of how we all influence … or rub off on one another - either for good or not! To my mind this is the same for all in blogland and my wonderful friends here.
This year my aim is to blog more, God willing!
Time will tell.

I had a calligraphy set and papers for Christmas as well, I haven’t done it for years so it was fun to sit and have a practise - those Crayola markers look very tempting, honestly I’m such a magpie, anything bright or shiny and I want it!

ReplyDeleteHello dear Shaz. It's good to see you here today. The cards are all so beautiful and I love the elephant ballerina. I think you're too hard on yourself. The birthday will love it just fine. She didn't know you originally planned a different outcome. :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful summery photos. We have gray and brown here but the white mostly melted yesterday before bitterly cold set in again. It was -21F wind chill last night but it's warmed up to -5F now. :-)

Your alcohol technique cards are soooo elegant! Great technique! The elephant and mouse card is brilliant and I am sure was well received! Stunning roses, one of my favourite flowers and a delight to see such lovely blossoms.Proverbs 27:17 is indeed a wise truth!
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz, good to see you back. Once again, you have created some beautiful cards, even when suffering a tooth infection - I would not have had the patience. I received a lovely calligraphy set a couple of years ago, but have not yet had a proper sit down with it. Soon, I hope. Have a lovely week, hugs Heather xx #23
ReplyDeletePrayers for you to feel much better.
ReplyDeleteLovely cards Shaz, as always. I do like the ones with three rectangles on, they look very dramatic in their colouring. Lovely card for the main part too.

ReplyDeleteHi Shaz, A Happy New Year to you and yours, love your special card for you family ballerina, I am sure she loved her special card. Sorry you have been feeling unwell, I hope you were able to access a dentist, my uncle had his 2nd Pfizer jab and asked the nurse which hospital she usually worked at and was told that she was a local dentist who had been forced to close due to the pandemic... Have a wonderful time teaching Calligraphy and good luck with zoom lessons... Megan
ReplyDeleteA wonderful collection of cards Shaz, I particularly like the gold framed ones with the colourful backgrounds, they are spectacular! The little card you made for Miss 10 is gorgeous, I'm sure she loved the colours. I really like how you've layered the numbers so you can see both colours... that's a clever idea. I hope that tooth is well and truly healed.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Beccy
Love your gold touches on the Christmas cards and that elephant is just the cutest ever!!
ReplyDeleteHI! You are so busy, it’s lovely to see you. Thank you for your gorgeous card, and my word, that old CCD die you’ve used with the alcohol inks background is stunning. Almost jealous of your family calligraphy course, and I love the look of the metallic calligraphy markers, even I could make use of those! Your sister lives in a lovely lush are, what gorgeous pics, and the roses, well they’re enough to make anyone swoon. Wish I could do a trip to Officeworks with you,!

Beautiful Christmas cards, Shaz, and I love how your elephant card turned out, in spite of you being ill. I was lucky enough to receive one of the Christmas cards in the first photo and can say that it is so pretty in real life! Those skies and flowers are amazing! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Happy New Year! Hugs, Darnell

I enjoy seeing the cards you made! I do ones with my photos that I print out and sometimes put a sticker on it as well! I hope you feel better! I like Proverbs as its got some good verses to help strong in faith. Psalm is really good! I like how there places where there's words written about our Savior, Jesus. How to help other people and how to help ourselves stay faithful with God every day! We had quite a bit of rain the other day and some high wind guts. Some areas in town had no electricity and some places flooded in Washington state. Many creeks were full of water when I was driving through countryside to my dental appt on Thurs. So thankful there was no water on the road or I'd not gone to appt! Never know how deep the water is! Shaz, hugs and blessings! **Becky**
ReplyDeleteIt's been awhile since I checked on either of your blogs! Actually just read your Christmas post on WWOFL blog for the first time - Late, I know! :D Your roses are so beautiful. I'm missing seeing flowers here in the winter, but hope to be planting seeds indoors in the next week or two. It will be nice to see the greenery at least for now. That is wonderful you'll be teaching calligraphy! I've wanted to learn it better, I'm not very good. You do a beautiful job with it.
ReplyDeleteLovely creations! I'm house sitting dogs for a while so am very much behind with everything! happy new year and a very happy very late woyww too stay safe ((Lyn)) #9
