Thanks to Ikki and to Glenda! lovely paper here!!

In part this post was to have been for the Less is more challenge for the pastels but I ran out of time, and not sure it has enough white on it to fall into next criteria? and not one layer - ah well such is life!!

Not too worried at missing the boat... as challenges are not that high on my agenda. It is just fun, as my feeble attempt is showcased more widely and you learn and share ideas that way.
For those of you who follow WOYWW you will have seen this paper upon my work desk two weeks ago.(see here).
It is the free download from Glenda Waterworth’s new blog "Chocolate Baroque” which I found through following Ikki's blog.
This is simply scrumptious and if I had been better health wise, it would have been made up sooner but better later than never.( see here! look under Downloads tab.)

This card is dedicated to two wonderful ladies:
  • to Ikki who inspired me into greater heights with card making than I ever thought possible (see here for her absolutely amazing blog if you don’t know it)
  • and to Glenda for her generosity in giving away such beautiful Digi paper for free. I love her stamps sets too and had planned to use my one and only but changed my mind as I went along! You can’t get them here.

Card recipe:
1.     I printed off two sheets of the Digi paper as you will see there are only two large squares on the free print out.  I cut them out carefully, edged them with the Nestie square scallop dies, mounted on two more lots of cardstock, Lively Lilac from Stampin up and black to match the sentiment with a very fine edge.
2.     I spent an age learning for the very first time how to print the sentiment on the card from the clever ladies at Less is More for the tutorial in Word see HERE . I have Word 2003 and had to make a quick phone call to my sister as it was slightly different but hey! we made it in the end, thanks Di! I still pinch myself over having conquered Word for once – answered prayer! (So a big thanks also to Chrissie and to Mandi @ Less is more!) Sentiment was printed on white Linen cardstock -looks a little mauve but it is not.
3.     Punched scallop edge and then grabbed a beautiful textured ribbon to border it and three pearls.. I do love my pearls!!

Hope you like it  - I am now on the mend. At last! YAY! mind you technically have at least week to go so better not rush too much here.

God bless, till next time,
Shaz in Oz.x

  6. Hi Shaz, this is gorgeous- I had already downloaded this freebie. I love what you have done with it- and have just spotted the ribbon you have used, I am sure I have some of that somewhere. The trouble is, somewhere is a pretty big place, lol. I shall find it , eventually, probably when I am looking for something else entirely.Glad you are on the mend, Love Shaz xx

  7. Hi Shaz, I love that card, and I still love your background for display - so unique and perfect. (I seem to be folowing the other Shaz round the blogs this week) I do most of my design and especially the wording now on My Craft Studio Pro. It allows me to plan out exactly where I want all the elements, and to place the writing perfectly. I used to use a word processor (WordPerfect, similar to Word but not so good graphically), but since getting to grips with My Craft Studio, I use that almost exclusively. I also do all the inserts on there, as it allows me to change colours, to match the colour of the writing perfectly to the design. It is very user friendly, having been created by crafters, and frequently updated. Glad you are beginning to feel better. Thank you for your lovely message about Rosie.
