Well, another Wednesday is peeking into view!! And so is another WOYWW! Are the weeks getting shorter as the year of 2011 progresses?
So much happening too in the bigger picture of our world (sadly not all happy – and so I am in much prayer for Japan and Middle East) - let alone on our small work desks.
Mine is slightly tidy again - sorry will try to leave it messier - next time I will take pickie on Tuesday before cleaning day! I have been working none the less as you will see I also have some more stash newly arrived. Two new Penny Black Stamps (they have come! two weeks ago saw one on Brenda of Butlers Abroad desk ) - yet to play with them, but have done some others.
Up the top left are the House Mouse stamps (have had this one for a while) and just coloured a rose-smelling mice twosome. I have a number of friends with birthdays who are rose lovers so they will be getting them; and tried it this time with combo of the Dovecraft pearly chalks and Promarkers. I just loved the look of it! yet to make it up...
Oh and I have new storage for Promarkers, which I found at Spotlight. This is a DMC thread sorter roll –AND it has perfectly sized spaces for Promarkers - I wish I had two of these instead of the Letraset one I had already bought, as like it much better. And a third of the price!
The left hand middle card is detailed here. And it is made using the paper from free downloads of Glenda Waterworth two weeks ago on WOYWW! Do love her paper!
The Hedgie card is one I had stamped on last weeks WOYWW (someone commented on it?).
I have made it for a friend's newly born daughter. Brayered the Flower Cuttlebug (called Caramello) folder in baby pink dye ink, embossed then sprayed in Diamond Glimmer Mist, a Nestie mount and Sticky "Sweet" button at the top with pink checked ribbon to finish it off.
Underneath it is the card I am entering in this weeks Christmas challenge @
Hazels. Go for Gold!
So it has used Victorine Originals Bauble stamps in gold plus pine tree stamp from Sheena Douglas (Little Sketchy 2 Faith set) with deep green (not black) corrugated mount and the Marianne Die Snowflakes in Mirri Card.
The other card done with the Penny Black Aspire stamp. The recipe & card is shown in detail - to see click here.
Some very clever ones of you may recognise it as newbie stamp from last week. :D

For those of your puzzled why we are looking at work desks... join in the fun take a trip over to the queen of WOYYW, drop by Julia's Stamping Ground!
And may God bless your day wherever you might be,

PS just looking around and found this gorgeous freebie so check it out folks from our very clever Donna at Bearly Mine Designs.. to get bigger resolution with Windows make sure after right clicking you select "Save Link as..." not "Save as..", which is what I used to do till Glenda sorted me out..
PPS. CUTTLEBUG USERS - HELP!! any answers please?
My cuttlebug is one year old, but it has had lots and lots of use with various cutting dies- not just embossing and I think it is going to die soon.. the last two weeks of use it seems to separate at the top side join near the handle (which is getting looser too) and make funny noises. It goes back together it can be either embossing or cutting, but mainly with thicker folders. I am very weak in my hands due to my arthritis plus very poor manual skill in strength items. So I dont think I am forcing it, as dont have the oomph!
I noticed in my Google search on this matter, the new bugs have green honeycomb plates for the A plate - so it has more give?
1.Does anyone know what may be happening here?
2.Are there maintenance things I should be doing with it? I always test shims/plates levels before cutting/ embossing.
PPS. In answer to Jude - your comment on loose screw may not be entirely off the mark. I printed off pdf manual on assembling the bug and praise God I still had the Allen key used for assembly and tightened up the handle an awful lot and seems better - however time will tell!! (pray it all good now as not $ for Big Shot let alone Vagabond.. they are so dear, plus different power to Oz at present..)
Would you believe it is one year and 4 day sold! just out of warranty!

Hi Shaz, if you are not at the #1 spot this week you certainly deserve to be - it's still Tuesday evening here! Love your new stamps including the Aspire one I noticed last week. I'm just about to complete my first card using mine. The Christmas card is lovely, the dark green card looks black on my screen but I bet the dark green is really gorgeous against the gold. Oh, and yes, your desk does look tidy. No number yet, as can't possibly post until Wednesday, but I'm sure you'll be able to find me :) Have a great week and cheers from cold and snowy Scotland. Elizabeth x
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicious gold card for my CHNC challenge 11 - thanks for joining in. And lovely to have a peep at all the crafty things on your workspace. x
ReplyDeleteWednesday already. You're right, the weeks definitely seem shorter. I'm not even sure I have anything on my desk today. I finished my current project yesterday. I love how there is always something to learn in your posts. Loving the gold on your new card xo
ReplyDeleteYep, still Tuesday here and I'm up with my post too. I have not had a lie-in for over 1 days and, as I have MS, tomorrow HAS to be the morning I won't be appearing early. I am not bothered about my ranking!
ReplyDeleteI love you colouring, Sharon, and the Promarker storage idea is a grand one. How many pens are living in it?
Another question I've been meaning to ask - do you watch crafting TV in Oz? Such as QVC and Create & Craft? I wondered this when I read the other day your reference to Glenda Wentworth as she is known to many here for her TV work which has led to their following her work and products.
Take care this week and enjoy your crafty days.
Hi ther shirley.. sorry to hear you are not well, still mending myslef..what would I do without anti-nausea tabs I dont know!!
ReplyDeletePens in DMC holder has spaces for 20 pens if copics you could fit two (I have the grand total of two of them) per holder I just checked so it would be 40, which is pretty fantastic.
The Letraset one I bought from Joanna Sheen holds only 24 pens which I find very inadequate and very bulky. Was disappointed when it came did not expect it to be so bulky, it need not be.
love Shaz. PS will pray for you.. sleep is a struggle for me too..
Oh and Shirley we cant get the TV shows (unless you have pay TV and I dont!)have watched some on You Tube but not of Glenda.. also Joanna Sheen on her site and LOTV on their site.. so guess maybe able to do it dfor Glenda, on her site?

What wonderful cards you have made. Sorry I can't help with your C'bug - mine is (underused now I have the Big Shot) one with the honeycomb green plat.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I can't help you. I use the Cuttlebug a lot, but have never had this happen!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all those answers, Sharon! I was up late and here early so will be napping soon but have enjoyed my blog hop. Take care now and rest your weary praying heart. Look for some joy too among the many awful things we need to put before our Lord.

Beautiful cards. Sorry to hear about the cuttlebug. My friends did just the same thing then the roller bit came loose. I have a big shot and like Jude said you have to tighten the screw. Maybe it does to. I love my big shot. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #52
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love the Penny Black mice stamps!!! They are so sweet! All of your cards are lovely! I don't know about the CuttleBug, I have one but mine is less than a year old and truthfully doesn't see a whole lot of action. I am sure someone will know!
ReplyDeletexoxo Karen (Kaz to you! lol) #55
Looks like you've been busy again, great cards..
ReplyDeleteas for your cuttlebug, sorry can't help, never had any probs with my old one but i now have the vagabond as wanted an electric machine to cut out the wrist pain i was getting, if your machine does sadly die i would recommend an electric one, so much easier with no pain. just saying! anyway hope you sort the problem either way.
Happy Wednesday

If you are going to buy a new bug I would get the bigger one but still stick with cuttle bug as I think kit's the best make for the manual machines. Sorry to hera it isn't behaving, can't diagnose the prob I'm afraid! Love your PB aspire card by the way, hugs Rebekah 75 xx
ReplyDeleteLove your cards! Esp the one with the wheat showing through the window. There's lots to think and pray about this week, that's for sure. Aren't we blessed in our parts of the world where things haven't changed in the blink of an eye? Hope you're feeling better. Said a prayer for you. God bless. Patsy from

Love your cards and what great new stamps! Hope you get your Bug fixed soon. I have one, but can't help as it's never been naughty like yours! Happy WOYWW.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sandra (no. 71)
Wonderful tidy work area...some lovely projects I see your desk! Guess your desk's not like my desk today a total mess, hehe! Jo (53)xxx
ReplyDeleteOh your cards are just lovely Shaz. Who is that in the wedding photograph on your table top then?
ReplyDeleteI have no answers to the Cuttlebug prob..am cross about it for you....my friend has an electric Sizzix/Big Shot which saves her hands a deal of pain...may be worth investigating if the need is coming!
Hi Shaz, glad to see you are getting use out of the Aspire stamp- I think its a fab stamp, so many uses. And I adore the hedgehog stamps- I don't often do cute, but I make an exception for these, lol.Thank you for all the links you put in your post about the Aspire stamp, thats lovely of you.
ReplyDeleteCan't help you myself with the bug, but I am on a forum in the USA, Splitcoast Stampers, http://www.splitcoaststampers.com. If you go there, go to the section called Tool and product Talk, then look down the list for the thread called "Sticky- Cuttlebug FAQ", I am 100% certain that someone there will be able to help you. It will be in the top half of the first page of threads, as all the 'stickys' are kept at the top. Shaz, #148
You have a wonderful collection there on your desk. Hope someone is able to help you out with your Cuttlebug.
ReplyDeleteSo glad i thought of it hunni.Fingers crossed it helps!
ReplyDeleteHugs judex
Such a neat work desk Shaz, wish mine looked so good :)! Your cards are gorgeous and I love all the different techniques you've used. Chris :)
ReplyDeleteLoving your Aspire card! That is one stamp I NEED!! Will come back to look at all your links. I am trying to get to every desk this week!

Here I am, following Shaz Silverwolf round the blogs again this week. Thank you so much for your "aahhh". It really is irresistable, isn't it. You and Shaz are definitely on the same wave length with your use of stamps - totally brilliant. Hope you get your bug sorted out soon.
ReplyDeleteSome really lovely cards here. I like the last one the best. My daugther has just broken her cuttle bug and replaced it with a sizzix big shot. Hugs Mrs A. #57
ReplyDeleteGreat desk and lovely work... Just retired my bug and taken in a Vagabond!!!!
ReplyDeleteFrankie
xx
My cuttlebug has the old plates. I am very careful with the thickness of what goes through my bug. Mine makes funky noises if its a tad thick. I have friends that have cracked their plates but not the bug...lol
ReplyDeleteI haven't had problems with mine, knock on wood.. Good luck!
Thanks for the the view and sharing, hugs Marjo#10
Lovely cards as usual - shame about the pastel one being too late for the challenge - it caught my eye straight away - beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHope your Bug recovers now Jude has had a word - I've had mine ages and ages and it is still going strong (touch wood).
Yes, the Vagabond is expensive but I just had to have it and despite being retired (a long long time) I do demonstrate at shows/do workshops to pay for my addiction. Wish I could afford to buy you one and magic the electrics for you.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm glad you like the videos and hope they inspire you. Your cards looking beatiful. I like the PennyBlack stamps. Soon I want to make some cards with them too.
ReplyDeleteBye, Franka
Wow!thanks Neet that is so very sweet of you... I would like it but hey am very grateful for bug maybe by the time they get it adapted for Oz it wont be do dear..live in hope. Shaz.x
ReplyDeleteI'm having a really busy week but am quickly dropping by to make sure all our WOYWW friends get the chance to win the last of our weekly draws before the BIG one over in our blog shop. Pop over and join in the fun. Good luck.

A lot is going on on your desk! Thanks for sharing ;-)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the trouble with the bug. I have a new one and so far so good. I really balk at the cost of the big machines. Hope tightening the screw really helps. Your cards are as always simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that the screw tightening Jude gave you works - I would be gutted if mine did that - keep looking at the Vagabond but not sure I would get enough use out of it to make the outlay worthwhile. Lovely cards and stash on your desk this week!! Annette #5
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz
ReplyDeleteoh i hiope you can sort ya cuttle bug out, typical just being outa warranty, gorgeous card, i luv the three panels, yep im well chuffed with me bag, happy WOYWW, sue,x
Hope that Jude's suggestion is working for the Bug. I love the way that there's always such good advice to be had through WOYWW. I am loving all the pretty pastels on your desk.
ReplyDeleteBx
Loving your new stash and your desk. Sorry you are having problems with the Cuttlebug. I would write to the company and see what they can do for you. Good Luck. Thanks for stopping by my desk. #19
ReplyDeleteMy desk is too scary to admit too!!! I love the work that is on yours - and the chalks. I've just got a set and don't quite know what to do with them yet - I'm sure I'll figure it out :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the repairs xxx
I love the card with the Penny Black Aspire stamp - it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love your desk Shaz, you have some of my favourite things on it today, Penny Black, House Mouse and Christmas cards! Hope your bug is feeling better, I'd be mortified if mine stopped working! I've spotted a wedding photo this week, in a frame, who is that?? Are we allowed to know!!
ReplyDeleteCan I ask you to look at this post please? It's a Mo Manning digi image for $1 with all proceeds going to help Japan, please spread the word if you can, thanks! The world has been so unstable this year, both the natural environment and the political one, don't know what's happening and I really hope the rest of 2011 doesn't continue in the same vein.
Hugs
Brenda 114
You have some gorgeous new stamps on your desk and have been making stunning cards with them.
ReplyDeleteYour poor bug, I haven't heard of it coming apart before. I hope someone manages to sort you out.

My bug just stopped working after about 3 months, thank goodness it was still under warranty. They said it was a faulty gear and gave me the old one plus a new one back. My DH is determined to fix the old one, but its been a year and its not done yet. Maybe we could get one perfect one from the two wonky ones?
ReplyDeleteFab desk and lovely cards! My altered balloon project is in fact a hot air balloon! great guess tho
