What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 94 Before - After/ Mrs A! see- MONKEY!!

Each week when you visit my desk it is in a state of tidiness which I can assure you is not always the case.. You see - cleaning day is Tuesday and that is the day before Wednesday in Oz : ) hence the tidy state..

So just for this week, I am going to do before and after…

Plus to Mrs A of it Its an Alien World I said I would post this week  - monkey…or Méchant (French for naughty) as I call him.
Méchant is from Manchester but I kidnapped him when visiting rellies in 2009, and the deal was they were to come back to visit him, and they are due next month – Yay! Anyway, as I promised Mrs A. last week on her post here to do a post with monkey - just so the two monkeys could say:" Hi".
He has suction caps and rides around with me as a back seat driver on the car window!! Cheeky fellow!

Back to WOYWW –

Photo 1: shows you the AFTER shot today... as I posted the cards pictured complete yesterday if you want more details on them, see details on this post here. (or the one before this!)

And also you will see in photo 1, I am starting on a Hedgie card which I hope to make into an easel card with Shazsilverwolf’s helpful tutorial, in the next few days, part of an order ( I hope and pray so anyway!).

Photo 2: Shows the BEFORE shot i.e. when was in the middle of all the mess at the weekend! So you can see I do get in a mess too just like all good crafters - we keep pulling out more stash and don’t put away as quickly till it becomes impossible and a clean up is required..

For those of you who are puzzled why we are looking at work desks... join in the fun take a trip over to the royal hostess, Queen Julia of WOYYW, drop by Julia's Stamping Ground!

And may God bless your day wherever you might be,
Shaz in Oz.x

PS. re Cuttlebug issues of last week, Jude was right on the loose screw.. and not just me!! it is working better now with it tightened, however still ocassionally acting in its contortionist way, so I am lay-bying a Big Shot from a local seller in the interim, not able to afford an electric one ( and not sure they are available here).

Thanks every one for all your good wishes and kind thoughts - that's what I love about WOYWW! such lovely folk out there!

  21. Oh Shaz - my reign at numero uno did not last - I am now relegated to about 106! Crying onto my keyboard.
Love seeing Monkey but what a shock to find he is a fellow northerner - not only that but he was born not many miles away from me (I am in Bolton). Love his French name.
Gorgeous cards on display - love the plum colour you have used - did Mechant have anything to do with the choice of colour?

  22. Gorgeous cards as always, Shaz. I am sure I have a similar stamp to your Lilys one- I must dig it out, your card with it is lovely .Seeing your Monkey with his suckers on his hands, reminded me of a toy I had as a child, a wind up monkey with cymbals on his hands- he bashed them together as he walked along- I haven't thought of that in years! Thanks for linking to my Easels, and all the lovely comments you leave me, Love Shaz #122

  25. My SIL has the exact same one in her back window too but she's getting a company car in April and isn't allowed to put him in there! Up market estate agents, bad for the image or something! Very nice to see the before and after desks today. Why is Tuesday always clean up day? Seems very particular!

  35. OK now I believe you that you can make a mess if you tried really hard. So glad your Cuttlebug woes were sorted out.
Don't know if you are a cricket fan, but if you are we can cry on each other's shoulders. Both our teams are out of the World Cup.
    Happy belated WOYWW

  37. Before photo - untidy desk? I see no untidy desk!!! Seriously I've bookmarked your blog as it is so interesting and your cards are beautiful....I'm intrigued by the word 'calligraphy' in your title.....did you write the title text? Also do you ever write the sentiment and the inside greeting on your cards? Just wondering.....glad to meet you and wish you God's richest blessings!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Loving your before and after photos, and I have the same monkey on my work desk. Your cards are gorgous and I love your house mouse stamp. I have a big shot for a few years now and I wouldnt swap it for an electric one as I reckon you have more chance of breaking it as you wouldnt be able to feel if you have too much pressure in it but manually you can feel the tension when you turn the handle.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm back to say I've had a lovely browse through your calligraphy and must say your work is so good.....I don't do so much gilding although I have an order for 'Desiderata' with gold leaf on it....long, long text....actually the peek on my blog was a 'draft' - then did another! As one does sometimes LOL! Your colouring and blending is just simply beautiful and you inspire me a lot. I don't usually do much gothic at all....I am a pure and simple foundational most of the time but will do other styles according to the text and what the customer wants. Most of the work I do has a personalisation element to it and I won't post it unless I ask permission to post after the event as it were. I make a lot of personalised cards....never have to look for work as I'm sure you don't either. God Bless on this beautiful Lord's Day over here where the sun is shining and life is good.

  40. Hi Shaz, it’s good to see the before and after shots of your desk but I still can’t help thinking there’s a feel of ‘organized’ chaos going on there.

Loving the finished cards…..such cute stamps!

    Happy Crafting!
