PIF Gift arrives and Our Big Craft Day

Hi there, everyone!
First of all I want to say a big welcome to some new Encouragers, (as I prefer to call them :D)!
When I started this blog I never imagined where it would lead. It is incredibly exciting now to have friends all over the place on the virtual world of blogging!

Well, great excitement here as the postman finally arrives at my door (have a new postie and he comes up on his bike to my door - very kind!) with my much anticipated parcel from the UK with the WOYWW PIF gift from Jozart! Hooray! And isn’t it a "beaut", everyone?
Just take a look, thank you very, very much dear friend across the seas, much love thought and care has gone into this one and it really truly greatly appreciated – thank you!

Crocheted teacloth (right) my UFO from 1988, work in progress!
I love the little bibs and bobs (and bells and beaded bits too) all so very lovely! feathers, the requisite WOYWW in iridescent colours, and a sweet face in two different formats - if you click it will enlarge nicely for you.
Then I thought I would share a few of the photos I took last Saturday at a our church craft day which we held in our church hall...

What an array of things were there and this is just very few of them. The sharp-eyed of you will see Morti’s mother’s work on my table (it is now finished but has to dry for a few days the gold leaf is very fragile at this stage) along with a few other things - there are some paintings, photos, etc.
I particularly wanted to show off the incredibly beautiful Hardanger embroidery by our very clever Hazel to Morti at WOYWW as she has been showing us each week her progress on her piece of work...

Also some woodwork by a young lad from Huddersfield, Yorkshire in UK (he is the rear right of this pickie).
There were other things but this is just a small selection and very happy day was had by all.

This bobbin lace by my friend Gillian was particularly awe-inspiring, I loved the lace edge which was to go around a handkerchief to the lower left part of the display. What patience and attention to detail - I love it! Do click on these pickies and check them out!

Thanks so very much for popping over everyone and may God bless your day wherever you may be!

  1. I do or rather did bobbin lace :) but not as good as that, I had to stop when my first son was born because I loved the beads so much I spent more time undoing his fiddling rather than actually lace making - now 20 years on my pillow and bobbins are lying dormant in the loft.

I love your card - I think I'm addicted to bling. The trouble is I horde it rather than put it on cards! lovely pictures too

  2. Hi Shaz, Love your craft exhibition! A good friend of mine who moved to the country a few years ago has taken up bobbin lace. Those pieces in your pic are gorgeous. But I love the hardanger. I've done a bit of that in the past and I know how painstaking it can be. Your Pif looks great! Mine arrived today too! I will put a pic on my blog for WOYWW. Will be doing your stamping soon, as I took your advice and found the Stazon cleaner at Big W! Hooray!

  3. Hi Shaz! I'm really pleased your PIF has arrived with you safe and sound. Bless Jo, she's done you proud, too!

Just had to pop over after I saw you'd mentioned embroidery - isn't that Hardanger work just fantastic? The bobbin lace is amazing too - Mum has tinkered with some in th past so I know just how much effort, patience and concentration goes into getting it right. It's almost impossible to unpick if you get it wrong! Thanks for sharing the great photos.

  5. Hi Shaz, many thanks for the calligrpahy tips just been checking out your posts.
Love the photographs from the Church craft fair, the lace is gorgeous I've tried this in the past but have to admit I'm useless, although I do still have the bobbins etc gathering dust somewhere.

  7. Your pif is stunning, Shaz. I'm so glad you have it safe and sound. Jo's work is amazing isn't it and she is such a generous lady. We are truly blessed in this Blogland of ours aren't we.
What amazing things at your Fair. I had to smile at the chap from Huddersfield, what a small world it is.

  8. Lovely to see some Bobbin Lace. I have some on the go but never seem to get chance to do any, either that or I have too much ink on my fingers!! Paperart is soooo much quicker!!

As for me popping over to tidy your room - no chance. Though I will gladly pop over to play!!
