Well very hurried visit to WOYWW this week have made cards but will post them later as time permits, I'm running round like a scalded cat at present…
My desk shows a new item discovered with WOYWW at the blog of our very own Neet some weeks ago (do check out her gorgeous cards using this technique on this post linked on her name, she emailed me a "how to guide" - ta, Neet!) and I took a while to get around to ordering some, as I have to think about these things you know! but here is my first effort using the Dreamweaver paste and it is fun!
Tips of Use:
1.Put on a decent amount of paste on and move quickly, minimise number of times paste is spread around.
2. light and even strokes (as if spreading butter) so it is not forced under the stencil.
3.Don't spread too thickly. Remove as much excess as possible without too much working of it.
4. I am not claiming to be an empert but found it easier NOT to use tape as most seemed to the first one I watched just held it down firmly and I found this worked best, otherwise found it tended to smudge a little no matter how hard i tried as I removed it.
On my desk you can see the stencil, embossing paste, spatula, a necessary tool, and items done last night – if anyone wants to know how to do it check out this You tube video – or this one - or you may want to look for some others, there are some good ones.

For those of you not in the know – this is the day of the week when folks from all over the world take a peek at one another’s desk to see just what we are up to – a great time of learning and fun, so do hop over to our wonderful hostess’ blog, at Julia's Stamping Ground!
Happy WOYWW everyone and may God bless your day wherever you may be!

PS. Note to self - if buying this scrummy paste on eBay again, make sure they pack it well!! This one was squashed badly on the bottom, (minimal packaging and plastic flexible jars dont mix!) and paste popped out and and oozing from top - sealed pinched corners with nail polish. :D
PPS my kind seller refunded me although I was not looking for it just wanted her to be aware of need for re-inforcing.

Can't beat a bit of texture paste
ReplyDeleteMorning Shaz! Or evening, I should say for you?
ReplyDeleteLove the stencil you're working with - I've got a few but haven't ever used the dimensional paste. A bit to messy for my liking!
The image of you running round like a scalded cat is funny - don't go so fast you meet yourself coming on your way back, eh?
Wow, Shaz! These are awesome. Not your normal desk entries, but I sure like what you've done with this stencil.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fab stuff and you are well on track with the festive cards...take it easy and thanks for sharing today. Sarah (at 1)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have had fun playing with your stencils.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW

I just love WOYWW because of all the things I have learned since joining. I have some stencils somewhere from another crafting foray. Might out to dig the up and try playing with them again. Have a great week. Vickie
ReplyDeleteSuper cool! It looks like something that I need to try! I think that I missed you somehow last week! Sorry! Love the card from 115 though! Have a happy WOYWW! -Amanda
ReplyDeleteLove those!! I have some of the dreamweaver paste bought after seeing it demo'd at a show - never tried it.... may just do so now. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteNow you see, Shaz, you MUST be a careful crafter because I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that I would have paste covering everything...and still be finding traces weeks later!! I am simply incapable of cooking/colouring/decorating tidily :D xxx
ReplyDeletelooks awesome!!! happy wednesday!
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful, so crisp and clear. I've not used this product, but it might encourage me later on...! Enjoy WOYWW!

Ooo Shaz. That is a lovely stencil and cards you are making. I have a few of those stencils and I use them to dry emboss. Maybe I will get round to buying the paste.
ReplyDeleteScrummy.
Thanks for your visit. Aren't I soo lucky to get that bunting? That is so sweet of Jan.
Hey, you didn't say you had got some paste and a stencil but am so glad you did not tell me as it was a lovely surprise to come on here this morning and see what you had done.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you enjoy it and continue to play with it in many different ways. Love your Christmas cards - now that should spur me on to doing a few myself. Thanks so much for sharing - Hugs, Neet #2
I have not seen such a product here in SA, so will do some investigating as it is very striking the way you have done it with the gold on the black.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wedensday Shaz! Not used the paste but looks interesting .love your creations using it.

I remember Neets cards ...I love what you have done and the tips ...I might just have to get some paste.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful toppers and such an effective technique.

I know it is not that easy, yours is perfect, and Liz does it just like you say but Mine Never Come Out Like That.

Oh how pretty! I have some of this lurking in a drawer somewhere. I should dig it out and copy you. Your pieces are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the results of your stencilling... it's such fun with great effects. I was also at the same workshop as Neet and really enjoyed it.

Gorgeous makes with that paste, Shaz. I have some dimensional paste which looks as though it does a similar job. Shame about the packaging but it looks as though you've managed to save the day with your nail polish. Sounds like your having a busy time of it so I hope your week goes well. Elizabeth x #60
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz, That's a lovely effect. Is the dimensional paste the same as impasto or texture paste?
ReplyDeleteLovely project and I have seen your beautiful work elsewhere on my blog hop today - brill! x Jo
ReplyDeleteYour results with this paste is amazing. Hope I can see where you use these beauties.
ReplyDeletexFranka

Wow Shaz - this looks FANTASTIC!! LOVE the effect!!
ReplyDeleteIt can be so frustrating when EBay sellers are sending products overseas but don't think to package is well. Glad you were able to "save" what you received.
Lovely new technique you've learnt Shaz, I've always liked the look of stencils but have never tried them. Slow down girl, retirement is meant to be for you!!

Hi Shaz- I'm back! lol. I an so late visiting too. Love your stencil & paste- I have a rubber stamp with three very similar images, and I thought it was one of those for a moment. I love the effect you get with the stencil paste- I did some Christmas cards with it a couple of years ago, and sprinkled some glitter on the paste while it was still wet- you can find them here:http://silverwolfcards-shaz.blogspot.com/2010/09/its-nearly-that-time-again.html. This baubles stencil is a Dreamweaver one too. Happy (late) WOYWW, Shaz
ReplyDeleteWow they look fantastic, really chic and elegant on the black. Hope you complained to ebay, then hopefully the seller will know better next time. Kezzy x
