Hullo there dear patient folk in blogland!
I am sorry have not been blogging much as I have been sick with tooth infection again; on double antibiotics for two days before it took affect and now on the tail end of second lot of them.

They are great, but it does make you feel peaky. I have to have it out by day surgery later in the year as it is an awkward extraction.
Finally here are my first ever ATC's (Artist trading cards, and measure 2.5" x 3.5" in case you did not know what they are, as I was puzzled as to what they were some time back! ).
I have made them for folk in WOYWW - when we had the 3rd anniversary at the end of May, 2012.
I was away when it was all announced and made it home just when it was due. Some kind folk still offered to send me one and waited patiently till I made mine and sent them off to them..
I took a while to make these as I really struggled with them.
I had never made an atc before and really found them hard... maybe I wanted to make them too complicated...anyway dont think I will ever fall in love with the format.

First one I made for Jo (Twiglet) in exchange for her gorgeous dumfling, and made with Stampin up stamp set (Oriental) on sponged background.
The second was made for Neet, was using a piece of multiple layers of EP and stamp work originally made and explained back here.
Third one was for Bridget from Oz, and I made it with a scrap piece of card I had inked up with left over ink and glimmer mists - had sprayed onto a craft mat and rubbed the card in it to get the mottled effect then stamped with a Penny Black stamp.
This last one is for Bella in South Africa and made with Stampscapes..(see her's here). It is a scrap piece again but brayered and then stamped and mounted with two mini tags with Stampin Up punch and stamp set.
I think I like it best but maybe that is because I love Stampscapes so much... think you either like them or you dont!
Okay I have been not to beach much lately but here are a couple of photos taken with my **mobile phone camera two weeks ago when my brother was visiting. (**For those of you who may not know all my beach shots are taken on it as rarely have my camera.)
I love the crab eggs as we used to call these when we were kids on this beach - they are of course the neat balls from crab excavations of the holes - at low tide..
We used to try not to tread on them because we really thought they were crab eggs!! and then here are a couple of views on our walk..
As this post is concerned with WOYWW and some folk may not know what it is; it a weekly blog hop called What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday and most kindly hosted each week by the instigator of this world wide blog hop, our Julia of Julia's Stamping Ground!
Not much happening on my desk, just some new LOTV cards, mostly for Christmas toppers as they had free post at the mo, even to Oz - always a draw card - check them out here!
And still not unclogged the glimmer mists and cosmic shimmer but was told by Joanna Sheen they are meant to be laid down for starters so did that (top right)! I have not finished the Stampscapes card (left) begun on post below yet, but it is one step further along.

You might not be a fan of ATCs, but these are all absolutely stunning. It's amazing the detail you can pack into a tiny space. It's very difficult to choose a favourite - but I think I might just prefer the brayered one just a little bit!
ReplyDeletep.s. I didnt send you any of those ATCs, you may want to give credit to the right person
ReplyDeleteBridget from OZ
Yes that gorgeous one at the top is on my WOYWWers ATC collage in my craft room - its fab. Hope you soon get that tooth sorted - it sounds nasty and tooth pain is awful. have a good week. x Jo
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful work on those ATC's and I always love seeing your pictures. Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteYour winter is better than the UK summer!!! Love those ATC's Shaz and I bet the recipients have loved getting them. Never seen 'crab eggs' before - they are so amazing! Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Buttons x

Hi Shaz,
ReplyDeleteI love your ATCs. Very nice. Good luck with getting the tooth pain under control.
Your beach photos are great, as usual. I was really curious what those little round things are - glad you told us!

kay

ReplyDeleteGreat photo of your two little monkeys Shaz and great photos of the beach. Love the butterfly made with the crab eggs (shh).
ReplyDeleteYou have done a great job with the atc's (and I have one of them - yeah) and I am in awe of your Stampscapes one - love those colours.
Hope that raging toothache keeps at bay.

really love your ATC's haven't made any for a long time might just have been inspired to give them a go round. have a great week
ReplyDeleteI don't play well with ATC's either. I love the concept, but they just don't work for me. Yours are lovely as I expected they would be. Also love the pictures of the beach!
ReplyDeleteGlenda #97
Poor you, I hope you are pain free soon. Your ATC's are so gorgeous! I love them all. You asked me what a Palette is. Its something artists us to mix paint on - they were originally made of wood. I just use a tile as a Palette to mix my inks and paints. Hope that helps. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteLovely views Shaz, can't believe you only use a mobile phone camera! Great first attempts at atc's, I think they're great and they don't look at all like you struggled. The stamps on my desk are indeed House Mouse. The reason they're facing the other way is so that Eels (Elaine @ number 10) won't be able to work out what they are as we're swapping images! Didn't want to spoil her surprise!

Oh goodness I really feel for you, nothing worse than a toothache. Love the sand eggs and the beach shots, where in Aus are you? Those ATC's are perfect you have done exceptionally well for your first time. It also looks like some yummies on your desk, I do hope you get some crafting done it helps take you mind off the pain.

My mom used to say the only thing worse than toothache is heartache, and I think she might have been right. Hope you are feeling better already.
ReplyDeleteLove your ATC's, but must admit it is not a format I particularly enjoy.
Happy WOYWW!

Wow, those look great. I especially like the first one. Thanks too for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos Shaz, the crab eggs take me back...actually these look as if arranged to be a butterfly! Sorry about your tooth, ouch...I know your pain and believe me, the surgery will be so worthwhile! So what difference does lying the bottles down make to the squinty bit getting blocked then? I realise it means the tube end isn't sitting in the gunk, but it's not that bit that gets clogged...is it?? I dunno. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely set of images to look at on your post today. Wonderful photos, lovely ATCs, a happy and creative desk. #76
ReplyDeletegreat ATC, they can be a challenge cant they, but then thats the point. I love the gecko stamp
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing

Take care]

Lovely to see you Shaz but so sad to hear you are suffering. Toothache is not funny. I hope those antibiotics are working soon.
ReplyDeleteThe ATC's are stunning, I agree the seascape has to be my favourite too.
I'm so glad I popped by for a lovely helping of your beautiful beach and blue skies, I'm missing those since getting back from my hols.

oops . . .forgot to say how terrific your ATCs are. They are all so different. I'm sure you could put some beautiful calligraphy onto this size of card, couldn't you? That might make you like them more!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that your sea glass has arrived safely. What a journey it has had. Washed up on an Italian beach, transported to England and then posted to Australia!! I have sent some off to America too. Your ATC cards are all fabulous and so different. My favouite is them all!!!. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteThat beachscape is amazing! I love your ATCS. And your desk looks like it's got some very fun things on it!

Glad to hear you're on the mend - I think toothache is one of the worst things..the constant throb is not good... :( Anyhow glad the meds are working and let's hope it'll be sorted properly later in the year.
ReplyDeleteI really like your ATCs, especially the flowers and the lizard. Very nice indeed..so you may think you haven't got the ATC knack..but I beg to differ!!
Hugs, LLJ xxxx
Hope you are feeling much better now. Thanks for popping by my desk and for your lovely kind comment!

So much to take in! Love the rose and the bits of glass. I don't live on the coast, but it litters most of the UK coastline. Lots of interesting stuff on the desk too. Thanks for the tip about the shimmer mists. I store mine upright too because that's how they are displayed in the shop! Now I've been told!! Hugs, Buttons #114
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz, I think you did an AWESOME job of those ATC's. Love the photos too - the beach looks so inviting and peaceful (I would LOVE to be there right now!).
