Upcycled Christmas Cards Continued

(No WOYWW post this week, things are just too busy to link up - sorry :D Commenting likewise limited - apologies again. I have post on brayer and cling wrap, aka Maggie Silvercrafter's,  started too for next week, God willing.)

Hullo there everyone! Just sharing some more upcycling with you!  Here are two more cards reused from Christmas stash ~ saved shop bought cards given to me, now to re-use!
So here is the original card, I loved the gold, slightly raised, embossed edging of poinsettias on this card - but it was not one you could cut up!
So instead I cut out greeting carefully instead.
Here I am adding bit of backing of card to cover the gap from cut out rectangle of greeting.
Here is the completed card as you can see I used a scalloped rectangle in gold to just edge it then popped it, added red card on white - very simple, but I like it! That image is just too good to throw away.
The second card in centre was a gift card from my friend, Steph. I liked it and even though it had small dent on it, I used up some more snippets to make this card. Spot embossed white card was left over from another card. Silver ribbon bow another snippet from crackers, covering where tag hole was. Used favourite corner - MS Layered arches.

Even though this is not a WOYWW post will close with a tradition here - almost anyway, here is a photo from Oz, last week at our local markets.
Heliconia - called Parrots Beak, with miniature roses, for more info click embedded link. God's creation never ceases to amaze me with its variation.. and yes they do grow here in gardens, although they are tropical, if you keep them out of frosts inland. Here on coast we dont get frosts.

    Fabulous recycling Shaz, or upcycling as you call it. And what fabulous flowers,makes me think of spring and summer and perhaps I dare even hope we get a sprinkling of both this year.

    Love your recycled cards Shaz, they look fabulous. It is a wonderful way to re-vamp something old and re-use... should do some myself, might take me 10 months to get a few done! LOL

    Love those Parrot Beaks, gorgeous!
    You have inspired me to have a day next week with my friend and do some cards for the local hospice shop. I always save cards for a year and then pass them to her for up cycling. Think it about time I mucked in and did some with her.

    You are so right - that poinsettia image was just too beautiful to throw away, and I love your upcycling of it! Both cards are lovely!

    I want to visit your garden!!!!! The heliconia is beautiful...it needs to be grown in a greenhuse/conservatory over here and is difficult to germinate! Super ideas with your cards too....as you say, the poinsettia image is gorgeous and by lifting the sentiment it refreshes it beautifully. TFS! xx

    I agree your Poinsettia card was just too lovely to cut up. You made it 'your own' with your very effective cutting/repiecing. So very lovely. THe 2nd is so different from the 1st, but equally lovely. Enjoyed reading about your creativity in processing these 2 upcycled cards. Enjoyed the pictures of your flowers too! Hope life relaxes a bit for you. That happens sometimes. We just have to go with the flow. TFS & Hugs.

    Shaz, I am loving your upcycled cards. I have kept Christmas cards from the last 2 years thinking I would do this but only a couple of them ever got re-used. Great work. Those flowers are amazing. God creates such beautiful things. (even in us) :)

    Great UPcycling...I love to turn something into a new card...and you had the perfect image with those superb poinsettias...

    The flowers are beautiful...funny to think you have blooming roses and we have our snowdrops just burst into bloom in the last 3 days or so.

    Love the Poinsettia's with the gold embossing- great card re-do's. Oh the flowers are beautiful! We had 10 degrees F today and the sun was out. I stayed in and worked on cards : )
