{Warning ~ photo heavy post}
Hullo there everyone - Yesss! another week of desk hopping again already over at WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday chez Julia) and wow! what glorious autumnal day we have here in Oz! Just superb, God-blessed, sunshiny weather, with some good rain at night .. perfect Goldilocks weather.
Here is my desk as left last night - you can see me in the middle of making another card with the wonderful Nicecrane images shown on last week's desk.
Embossed Kassie's Brocade folder (CB), die cut image with Beaded Ovals (SB) and fancy labels 3 with verse from Word Art Wednesday. See also on desk ribbon under consideration, new purchase of tacky craft glue from Spotlight at rear and the "Joy" diecuts still hopefully waiting to be made into Christmas cards.. for quite a few months!
Now on left - my desk a few days ago...

I really had fun inking up a folder here. First swiped a royal blue pad across the flatter side of folder then embossed in CB for blue impression on white snippet of card (CB Floral Screen). Took Brilliance Dewdrops in green, gold & iron metallic colour; randomly swiped over the blue embossed card and dried with heat gun. Verse is from Word Art Wednesday. Direct from Karen's blog - see here, or right click to save file:
What a joy to have that strong strength as real comfort in the midst of deep trial - this card was sent to dear brother in LORD, who is really going through the mill - and of course, his wife too - in small Qld pastorate.
Mount images on gold; as was running out of gold paper, I used Verasmark swipe on
edge and gold embossing paper for the bottom layer on card base, hence
the uneven edge.
And here is the finished card .. must admit these images are even better in real life than on screen and they are so special to work with!! I have a $50 Canon Inkjet four year old printer.. and used ordinary card from Officeworks for this digi image and they print just superbly!
Thank you so much Ignacio, for so kindly sending me these beautiful Birds and Blossoms images!
Thank you so much Ignacio, for so kindly sending me these beautiful Birds and Blossoms images!
I thought I would share these two photos as my Aussie shots this week..
A few months back family and I were sitting on bank above this beach..
Watching as a small group pulled up in a four wheel vehicle with trailer on back, then unpacked the motorised chair below, and the two pups and co. proceeded along the beach for their walk. It did cheer one's heart to see it.
Thanks so verry much everyone for popping over for a peek and chat!
May God bless your day wherever you maybe,
Shaz in Oz.x

Beautiful cards as always Shaz. I enjoyed the last two photos. It's wonderful to see that limitations aren't stopping those two from having a wonderful time with their dogs. Have a wonderful day!

ReplyDeleteHi, not got much time to visit this week but wanted to come say hi - gorgeous cards, Shaz, as ever!! Love the Aussie shot today too.. Helen 9
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz...and thanks for visiting my desk today. That sure is one gorgeous card, what a fabulous effect you got with the embossing folder and the birds/floral is beautiful. We walk some mornings on our beach and there is a group of seniors (8+) who walk their dogs every day - it's such a refreshing way to start the day...I love it. Cheers and have a great week RobynO#40
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz.
ReplyDeleteThanks for calling by already and for your kind comments.
Love your cards and those pics on the beach really did make me smile...thanks for sharing them.
Hugs,

At first glance I thought the lady in front had one of those machines for finding metal on beaches. Oops! Glasses need cleaning. Did give me a smile at the thoughts of them unpacking the car.
ReplyDeleteLovely cards as always Shaz and I love that embossing folder you used. I've never ever inked one up - hard to believe but I haven't. Maybe now I will!
Hope all is well with you, take care
Loe as always

These are such wonderful cards - the gold ink is just genius!! I wouldn't have thought of that, that's brilliant! I also love the photo'a of the couple on the beach - it's nice to see some sunshine and people enjoying themselves ;)
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself until I visit next and thank you so much for your kind words on my blog ;)
Hi Shaz,
ReplyDeleteLove that background with the embossing folder etc. Gorgeous colours. I'd have a problem covering up such a lovely background :)
Those Darkroom Door stamps are a bit on the expensive side, although they did have 10% off that day (not much, but better than nothing) and they DO stamp beautifully. I've got a few sets and there is never an issue with stamping a good image. I shall try to get around to using those new feather stamps in the next few days.
Thanks for stopping by, and I really, honestly, have no idea where March went. Sad, eh?

Goodness but I love that embossed background you did - the bluey, greeny, goldy colours are so beautiful. I'd have been happy with that without a topper on it!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I smiled at the beach party too - good on them :-)
Hugs, LLJ 8 xx
Your card is quite impressive! I'm loving the gold edges and beautiful embossed background!
ReplyDeleteLove that embossed and inked background. I have not tried this technique yet, but think I will as it looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe Nicecrane images you chose are lovely and your card did them justice!
Loved that photo of the two dogs and their pals!
Two stunning cards, Shaz. Love the verse - and how we need that Scripture at the moment. John is seriously struggling at present. He has been mostly in bed since Saturday teatime, and we had the Dr call here on Monday - so the verse that reminds me of God's strength in time of need is particularly apposite! Thank you!! Even though it wasn't really for me!!
ReplyDeleteLoved the Aussie picture - the blue mobility scooter is identical to John's - we don't have a trailer though to go on the back of the car - instead we have a Peugeot 3008 which has a drop down back door so I can dismantle the scooter and lift it in and out in sections. Great fun, 'cos it means he can get out and about a bit, and I love to walk - so he can come with me. It has a range of 10 miles, so no chance he will run out of battery power - 'cos I don't think I coukd walk that far!!!
Glad you liked my space here in North Wales! The dress is still in "trial" mode - the real one will be white. The bride is a young woman in our church who is having 2 ceremonies - a fortunate young woman indeed - civil here in Wales, then church in her home in Romania. So... two dresses!!!
Have a great week.

Your card is so lovely! Great sentiment! The picture from the beach was a joy to see them having a great day out seaside with their pups. Awesome. PS. I did get a new set of nibs for my calligraphy nib holder and they didn't crumble this time! Thank you! I am admiring your work and it is beyond beautiful. Winnie#71

Lots of great things to see today. I came over from the snippet playground but am happy it's WOYWW so I could do a bit of desk snooping. You've been creating quite a bit and that is nice to see. Love that card in progress on your desk. I had to smile at the "joy" which has been there for awhile but you swear will get used someday soon even. I have those things piled up too. Beautiful embossed background! And I love the card you created with it, so fancy looking!
ReplyDeleteSuper selection of cards and nice to see the cheeky monkeys.
ReplyDeleteHappy WoYwW..

Thanks for another lovely comment, Shaz - I feel a real sense of achievement at the end of today - we both put a lot of effort into giving Mum a really good birthday celebration and it was soooo worth it! We all had such fun. Glad you enjoyed the post!

I love your cards, the embossed background is really beautiful. Your printer sure does a wonderful job, the birds are gorgeous. Just living in Aus as we can go to the beach anytime of the year. It's still around 30 degrees up here, just perfect.

That embossing and all that lovely gold is so beautiful. and that picture of the folks with the mobility scooter was great. not sure I would risk mine on a beach with all that salt to mess things up, but good for them. thank you for your visits this week and your lovely comments. I think my shift keys on this keyboard are about to give up totally. Oh well, another spending spree needed. Have a good week. xx Maggie
