WOYWW Ink Resist + Brayer with Stampscapes

Well, here we are in middle of another week and the almost end of of the financial year... and that also means.. the time of Le Tour approaches, Le Tour de France for those who dont know what I mean. This year it starts in Yorkshire and Lisa of Craft Garden blog said last week much was happening in her backyard... she promised to get me some pickies. :D My grandma was born in Yorkshire.. near Barnsley.
It is also time for WOYWW Or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday - here is Julia's blog at the Stamping Ground, it's home base for WOYWW- here. - to my desk.. here  it was late yesterday.
As you can see it is inky time, again! and yes my fingers were very inky!.. am working on last of the cards of set of five for Lee. I am trying to decide which stamp to use on card and an emboss resist. Used white embossing powder with versamark, heat set powder, then sponged with daubers and dye inks - namely two Kaleidocolor pads (Calypso and Riveria) and my one Big and Juicy (Hydrangea) pad at the rear. Think I will be using the Stamping up Daisy stamp...??
Margaret of Glitter and Glue blog sent me this wonderfully blended inky card with atc.. and could not find last week, but found it - joy! .. thank you dear friend!

Well, here are two cards made this past week. The mauve one is one for Lee, which was in process of being assembled on last week's desk. It is with brayered gloss cardstock with Stampscapes. Used a sketch found on Pinterest, which was originally from Splitcoasters. (see here) the bird was the one on last weeks desk.. my stamp flew the other way and found and fantastic shortcut on Picasa for mirror reversing and image - Ctrl + Shift + H.. this simple tip astoundingly turns image to face the other way! Other card was test run for Lee, made using SB Curved Borderabilites, and embossed and inked folder CB Brocade, digi verse from Word Art Wednesday.
Here are the Aussie images for today . This Rainbow Lorikeet was having one big feast in the NZ Christmas Bush  which is full of blooms, he was kind of playing hide and seek with the camera.. to begin with.
A big welcome to two new friends also who have become Wonderful Encouragers of this blog ..  to JD Jill of Ribbon Challenged blog and to Becky of Stamping and Scrapping, so please pop over and give them some encouragement today! if you kindly join this blog please let me know so can link over too.. ta!
Well, thanks so much everyone for popping over for peek an chat.. will return visit as soon as able. Thanks for those who popped over last week, a couple of Google + folk I have not traced yet.
May God bless your day wherever you maybe!

  1. I'm having blogger problems (Like a lot of others right now do too, I am told) where only one blog is showing at a time in my readers list. This time when I logged on to my blog it was yours that I had showing and I'm so happy it did...such a great post and such pretty cards, I especially like the Mauve one had to enlarge it to take a better look!
Hope you are having a good week!

  15. Hello Shaz. What beautiful finished cards - and the unfinished bits and pieces are lovely. I especially like the mauve card with the circles, and that deep blue is stunning - the effects you have achieved are great.
Thanks for already visiting and for your comments. Yes, clouds in life do happen - and can be a tremendous blessing - still looking... I really enjoy sewing the blankets together. They are quite a challenge, as the squares that have been knitted are often only squarish!!!, and so to make them into a cohesive whole is quite an achievement.
    Have a special week.

We are getting really excited now, it's hard to believe that it's all happening next weekend. Everyone has been commenting that I should have a big WOYWW banner and jump up and down as the race goes by so that all my WOYWW friends will see it on the TV lol!!

  40. Oh you're inky and I'm a bit jealous! Beautiful cards. Yep I would use that daisy stamp, and round the daisies I would use the border effect you're currently inking. Then you have a set of cards that are the same, but different!
The rainbow lorikeet is cheeky..there are a few green ones in spain - good grief, they are noisy!

  41. Thank you for your visit, Shaz. I am fortunate with my computer guru as he is my daughter's father-in-law and he really knows his stuff. He only ever charges me for any parts that are needed and he gets a bottle of his favourite wine (which happens to be a really cheap one), and I should only have to plug the laptop in, and load the new printer software while the proper one is away. Lovely picture from you as usual and the cards are beautiful. My day, today, is largely a matter of sitting round, feeling frustrated because I can't craft, just waiting for things to be delivered. then it will be a mad panic to clear a way to the computer for it to be collected tomorrow. Do have a go at this week's Youtube video with Barbara. It really is so simple and so incredibly effective. I demonstrated it to a friend yesterday and both hers and mine were great. Have a good week. xx Maggie #60

So tonight I had caught up all the comments that had come in this afternoon, so had a bit of breather to pop over for a fun visit. So many beautiful cards to see. Am so loving the s/Scape one.
