WOYWW Snippets + Butterfly Challenge + Windows 10 Go away!

Hullo one and all .. well it is one of those days when you quietly want to go in the corner and scream!! loudly, but just to yourself. And yes, it is a computer that has caused this utter frustration.
First of all Windows 10 keeps installing and I don't want it .. tried Googling thus far to no avail, tried this one here... but is in too hard basket at mo...
It is blocking all other updates because if one tries to download those updates, then Windows10 automatically downloads. (When, God willing, I find a solution will add it.. anyone any ideas?)

{15.8.15} EDIT: UPDATE - I think I may have beaten it at last, praise God -- pray so anyway most earnestly! some days later.
First of all I did a system restore back to before release date on 29th July, which on my machine was 27th July. Then did instructions on this link here (
Warning: he uses some words I would rather not there, but he said he was controlled as he was really mad about Microsoft and wanted to help others,  it so glad he was restrained)
http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/windows-7-to-10-gwx-how-to-remove.html

All other sites were not for those who had the download being forced on them, and did their steps and nothing happened.
So thought only way could solve it was with restore point back to before 29th July.
System Restore said that restore point did not work but it stopped the download! then could get rid of the GWX files (for Win10).. and they are everywhere!
Had to remove all the files - WARNING - it does involve going into the Registry.
Am not crowing yet, as it is not showing I have not reserved my Windows 10 in Windows Update, and it should. So they may try to sneak it in the back door, so double checking all downloads from Update as that's how they smuggle them in.}

However I am going to ignore all this for the moment... and plod on (with prayer).
To WOYWW or What is On Your workdesk Wednesday.. pop over to our chief's desk for the link up, at Julia's Stamping Ground!
To my desk:
It could be summarised today's post as: 2 desks + 2 cards + 3 Aussie shots!
Have two cards here, one finished, one on the make. Have added DI to the paper for die-cut, to match the stamped framed image made. Last week on Thursday I met up with RosA in Sydney, and the bounty on the desk below is from her (thanks dear friend! very generous). We also did some shopping, and this stamp panel was one I was deliberating over. Ros challenged me saying she would buy it too and see who could blog a card with it first. It was all of $3.99, by Kaisercraft.
All these die cuts are from RosA, they are amazing aren't they? She die cuts them on scrap card then they stay intact. The "With Love' die is one of mine I am trying out to see it work.
Here is the card with Kaisercraft Bloom Panel in Versafine Black Onyx, and embossed in clear. DI - Peacock feathers, Dusty Concord, Firebrick Red, on Strathmore. The die "with love" is by Waffle flower. Snippets of Black, and Strathmore.
Over at Mrs A's Butterfly challenge .. it is Butterflies and W is for Washi... so it is all washi on here with DP and cardboard snippets thrown in. Die Butterfly is SB, "Thanks" is CB Olivia die set
Aussie shots 1: First rose for this year is the Delores... always seems to be first.. very dry this year so slow to grow, we badly need some rain.
2. Dendrobian orchid from my neighbour, on loan :D It is has flowered its heart out for almost three months now. More flowers than leaves .. how good is that?

3. Another winter flowering, red dwarf poinsettia... it yells "happy", doesn't it??
And a big welcome to another new wonderful encourager of this humble blog .. Jan Keen, but cant find your blog, Jan .. so please let me know so I am able link over to you + also join your blog. :D
Also a big Welcome to Lenoria of Lenoria's Lid'l  Bits another new blogger. Pop over and give her a big welcome to blogland!

I will comment as able ~ may take 'til next week but will get there :D

Thanks so much every one for popping over for a peek as chat, and may God bless your day wherever you may be!

I am sharing a part of psalm today.. I so need it :D pray it might bless you also.
Psalm 121:1-3
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber"

Also linking the two cards up to:

  2. Hi Shaz. I'd be there screaming with you :-) Our internet is so slow here that I do a bit of screaming here too. Your creative bits are really fab and I always love seeing what gorgeous flowers you've got in bloom so thank you for sharing them.

  3. I had a windows 10 box come up and I said NO to it. So far it hasn't reappeared. I'm still on windows 7 and quite happy I stay put. I have enough Internet problems as it is. We are going to have to upgrade to a newer server but it is quite complicated and we have to be down for a week whilst it is done. I've also accidentally dopped my iPad onto concrete slabs and smashed the screen to smithereens . Fortunately it hasn't fallen out and is all tapped up to kep it in place. A new screen and casing is going o set me back £200 or a new iPad £ 419. Not a happy bunny at present! Gosh never heard of lending plants out before. I think I would be too worried in case I killed it off.!!
Your washi card is the bees knees. I love the simplicity of it but also the intricate die cutting. Superb my friend. Thankyou or fluttering by my challenge. Hugs Mrs A.

  5. Gorgeous cards Shaz! Oh how I love that 'With love' die - needless to say two are winging their way there - one for me and one for the Playground! You naughty enabler :)

Beautiful flower photos the pale pink rose is stunning, such a delicate shade too.

Eve, who was looking after the Playground last week, tried Windows 10 and just had one problems after another so has reverted to whatever previous version she was using. I do keep encouraging folk to try out Linux Mint - it's free, clean, isn't a constant target for malware, updates are done in a whistle too. I love it and would never go back to Windows. It's also really easy to use - the main advantage!

    Hayy WOYWW to you!

    Hugs

    Di xx

  6. Hi Shaz, beautiful, beautiful cards.
With Windows 10, you can delay the installing, but within a year it has to be upgraded to. There has been some problems with getting it to download, I think they tried to launch it in too many places at once, and the servers couldn't cope. Hubby has got it on all of ours now, apart from mine which he'll do while I'm in hospital, probably, and it seems to be very good.
There is a Microsoft section devoted to Windows 10, may be worth a look there? Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #14 xxx

  14. That poinsettia is stunning! Your toils with IT are familiar. My smart phone has a life of its own when trying to update my blog. I too have been invited to upgrade to Windows 10 on the laptop but have earnarked this job for a time when I don't have a mountain of ironing and a small boy to supervise...we may be waiting some time!! Happy crafting :-)

  15. So love the dies, so pretty in black with the colors behind and like the colors in the sentiment too! Love that idea for the washi tape.
Your flowers are all blooming so lovely that would be wonderful to have flowers all year around outside.

  16. Computers drive me crazy some days too! It's almost impossible to function anymore without one though. My favorite card today is the thank you with the butterfly...it uses my very favorite colors. The verse you quoted at the end of your post was my Mom's verse. She said it daily, out loud during her devotion time. She's been gone 26 years now and I still miss her every day. Thank you for the good memory.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  17. Love the cards and love the blooms!! I feel your pain with the computer - hope you can sort it soon. I am feeling kind of left out though as my computer hasn't tried to force me to take Windows 10... lol!! perhaps I should be happy... Helen 5

  18. Such a lovely post Shaz - the plants are beautiful - I have a pale pink Dendrobium but it only has a handful of flowers when it blooms. Lovely bits and bobs from Ros A - I bet you had a fab time in Sydney together. x Jo

  19. Oh my word, Windows 10 is unpopular! Fortunately, our systems are so old that we aren't going to be affected for a while....just until we are forced to buy new....and that will be sooner than I'd like!
Love that Kaiser panel, just love it and how you've used it, a great challenge from Ros!as for your photos of plants, all lovely, can't get over how healthy that poinsettia is!

  20. Hi Shaz, I've just got in and really enjoyed reading your post. I was out most of the day and out again this evening so didn't join in with WOYWW today. How nice that you were able to meet up with Rosa. Sounds as if you both had a good time. She's given you lots of lovely diecuts. What lovely cards you have made. That Kaiser stamp panel is lovely and what a bargain price. The washi butterfly card is beautiful. The colours are lovely and your with love die too. I could almost smell that rose. I wouldn't like to be borrowing a plant. You're a brave girl. I'd be frightened of killing it off. Barbxx

  27. Shaz, The flowers are beautiful, your painting lovely, the card is really stunning BUT the scripture wins all, hands down. My favorite. Thank you so much for taking time to post your very creative art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday, in our 196th challenge.

  30. Hi Shaz

Very late this week. No woyww, too busy after driving home from the snow Tues night :)
So glad you like the die cuts. They're all nice, aren't they?
I like what you have done with "our" stamp. The colours are gorgeous. I just have to finish a 50th Wedding Anniversary card for this weekend, and then I will play with the stamp :)
Love the orchids! I've got a prolific cymbidium hidden in a corner of the garden. Two huge fronds are now inside, in a vase I had to buy especially. I was tired of trying to cram them into vases that are too short :) And I have given two stalks to my next door neighbour, but there are half a dozen still on the plant :)

  31. Great cards and flowers! How fun to buy the same stamp as a friend and challenge each other -- I really like what you did with it -- and keep meaning to try die cutting with washi -- I "pinned" your card to Pinterest to remind me to try it. Happy WOYWW (a couple of days late) from Laura #48

  33. Hi Sharon, I'm another who is unhappy with Win10. I've heard lots of good things about it, and reserved it for 3 computers. After getting my license replaced - pretty easily - I was inspired to sit down and let win10 install on my 'main' computer. Then I couldn't get to Anything...I kept getting mesgs that I was not connected to the internet (I was!), if I tried to go to a page that I visit all the time, got a mesg that it couldn't be found, couldn't get to Netflix or Acorn, which I watch all the time, and my favorites were gone. Spent all afternoon and into the late evening trying to learn how to navigate and it was much SLOWER! (I've heard how fast it works). Well, thank the Good Lord that I have another computer, so been working on it, but it does not have all my links on the fav bar, so another headache. Then when I finally got things finished to a point I could concentrate, I was going to do a system restore, and win10 wanted me to enter a passwd to log on! I didn't set up a password!!! I'm saying some very unkind words! Now, thanks for letting me vent!!! I am so loving all these lovely die cuts that you've been blessed with. How kind of the person who sent these and what wonderful creations I know you will share using them. As always, I love the wonderful nature's beauty that you share here. Hope all is well with you. Big hugs. God Bless and hope your Win7 is back & healthy once more. (and that God Willing, so will mine be. I'd not done a backup - silly me!)

  36. Your cards here are amazing. I'm so happy you joined our Challenge last week and would like to invite you to join us again with our Challenge this week at Word Art Wednesday. Just want to share God's Word to you coming from 1 Peter 1:24-25 which says, "For, "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever." And this is the word that was preached to you."

    Have a blessed day!
