Latest news from Jan's post, for non WOYWW-ers, who asked to be updated for prayer for Julia:
"Julia came out of
hospital last Saturday - her post op brain scan was clear so it's a case
of slowly recovering. I saw her yesterday.. was surprised to find
her downstairs rather than in bed. Julia's face has dropped on her right side because of
palsy caused by the op. Has exercises to help the nerves and muscles work again. Her stay in hospital was good, excellent treatment + care. A case of slowly slowly
now, may take up to a year for nerves to grow back. We had a good
laugh - she says hello to you all." (EDIT: I tried to enlarge this but not able to, sorry)
All up and down the east coast of Australia, from Gold Coast, Queensland to Tasmania there has been tremendous storm damage from a huge east east coast low. it wasn't just one system but two that joined up and also it coincided rather unhappily with the June King tides..
SURFS UP... wave anyone? |
Foaming breakers on rock wall, you could not go down the rock wall as normal, as it was breaking over it well and truly as later images show. |
People had to be rescued from their yachts/ boats 'cos they couldn't get along marina walkways. They've had to leave boats now as the walkways in some places are destroyed. |
Impact of waves pounding this office also collapsed the marina Office building, it fell in on itself. |
Creek and beach area near home, storm surge came up onto grassed area and beyond to trees.. |
A lot of the beach was washed away, and has been deposited in creek mouth clogging it up more. |
Peaceful now, after the storm... |
May God bless your day wherever you may be.

Hi Shaz,
ReplyDeleteBeen thinking of you in those storms. We only had consistent rain, nothing like what happened on the coast. Although we do have blocked storm water drains which is a problem.
Those Altenew stamps and dies are VERY good :)
FABULOUS NEWS, thank you for sharing - please pass on my best wishes for Julia's complete and speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteGreat desk, projects and pix
Happy WOYWW

ReplyDeleteIt was good to hear the recovery news for your friend Julia. I will continue to keep her in my prayers. My oh my that was a lot of storm damage. I knew there were storms but didn't realize they were so bad. I hope that although there seems to be a lot of property damage, that there were no people lost. Thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy

Oh Shaz, what a mess that storm has caused. Hope nobody was seriously hurt or anything. Lives are so precious.
ReplyDeleteLovely atc's you have there and what an absolutely gorgeous card from Darnell - I think I have seen one like that before and I admired it then. Lucky you.
Hugs, Neet 7 xx
I always think I am going to arrange my desk to I can join in with the WOYWW, but I never do... : ) I love stopping by to see what you are up to. The ATC and the balloons card- so pretty! So sorry to see all of the damage from the storms.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful lot of happy mail you have received Shaz - Darnell's is a stunner!
ReplyDeleteI wondered how you had fared in those storms - thankfully they have had very little effect here where I am - some of the coastal communities had a lot of rain, but nothing as severe as you had.
Blessings
Maxine
We have been hearing about the terrible storms on the news over here. I hope you are safe and warm and dry. Love all the cards and ATC's!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW!

What amazing happy mail you have gotten Sharon! I love all of the cards, so pretty and yes, I'm sure Hammy had his hand in those balloons! lol Your pictures are scary looking Sharon. The ocean can cause so much damage when storms collide and then to coincide with the June King tides...well it is devastating to see property destroyed as well as the land around. That's Mother Nature for you and it happens all over the world. I think God is trying to tell us something....Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeletehI Shaz, that does look like it was a horrendous storm ,the sea is such a mighty force, as mother nature can be. Your ATCS are ace isn't it great to receive such amazing and different mini masterpieces. Yours is on its way as of last Thursday or was it Friday ... a little later than I planned as explained !. but on route. Fab card from Darnell love the bright colours of the balloons. Have a great weekend ahead hope weather stays good belated woyww crafty hugs andrea x #14
ReplyDeleteYou got some wonderful goodies in the mail! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to join this year's swap because I was abroad.
ReplyDeleteWow, those waves are powerful! Reminds me of my friend who just had an accident while learning to surf last Sunday. She got hit by the surfboard and had multiple fractures in her facial bones! My hubby, who is a plastic surgeon, had to put titanium plates in her bones!
Thanks for sharing! Happy WOYWW!
Hugs, peggy aplSEEDS@8
I hope Julia continues to improve.
ReplyDeleteGreat card.
Have a great day.

You have been blessed with some beautiful cards! The unusual weather has been devastating and must have bought back some painful memories for many.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing pics of the beautiful power of nature. While I hate to see the destruction, the pics are reminders we are one small part of this world... and by far one of the weakest.
ReplyDeleteArt.. yes... I love that balloon card. The detail is amazing! I'm thinking embossing folder but has ideas swirling in my head. Creative Blessings! Kelly #37
Goodness, that was quite the storm. what a worry for the poor people on their boats!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are amazing as always. I always like to see the photos of where people live. Must remember to get my own out and take a few to post.
Your post is so full of cards, projects, happy mail received etc. This post has such a happy feel!
Wow! Those storm photos are something else. Mother Nature can be so destructive when she puts her mind to it, can't she? Thanks for sharing all your lovely mail from recent.
ReplyDeleteOh, dear Shaz, what wonderful news of Julia! Praise God for bringing her through the surgery, and continued prayers for her recovery. Oh my, what awful images of the storm damage! We've seen damage like that here in the states, and it can be devastating. I pray that people will recover and businesses will resume. Wishing you God's blessings, dear friend! Hugs and love! xoxo
