Over on this post here, I used the Nellie Snellen Straight Eastern Oval dies as a mask for the Faux Vellum technique. Here it is being used in positive and negative for four shaker cards in negative space and for four ornament cards in positive cut. On these cards I stamped with a silhouette Nativity stamp (from 1992). Gold embossed the Darkroom Door Splatter stamp on background, masking around Nativity scene. |
Verse for Unto us a child is born is by Unity stamps, Gold embossed, but think no longer available as had it for a while. Used SU Oval punch x 2 for verse. |
Then used the positive shape as an ornament on these cards. The verse used is also a discontinued one from the 1990's. Corners are from Martha Stewart punch, Layered Arches. |
Thanks so much for popping over for peek and chat.. you are really appreciated! Don't forget to pop over to join in with Bizzy Bec's Anything Goes challenge. You just might win that prize of that die!

What a lovely & very unique shaker card with the wonderful nativity set. I really like the way you've done this aperture (afraid I don't know what the faux vellum technique is, but I'll check on that one!). Also like the shape that you've done on the 2nd set of pretty cards too. You've been busy! Love the sunny sea picture you've shared. So peaceful. Thanks for helping Jenny & me with the comment/publishing problem. Jenny changed per your brilliant suggestion, and I was delighted to be able to type the comment AND publish it without further aggravation!!! Many thanks, and TFS. (also thank you for your sweet comment about how far my skills have come. I could only go up from when I started! And still have long ways to go to become as good as I'd like to be. But it's fun, and I've met such lovely people, so it's been a big blessing all the way!) Hugs
ReplyDeleteThose shaker designs look absolutely fantastic, Shaz. I've got my mother on visit and she was peeping over my shoulder while I was looking at your cards and she wondered who had made these lovely cards:) I think you've put those negative die cuts to good use as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us at CraftyHazelnut's Christmas Challenge and good luck!
