Hi one and all,
Hi one and all,
Time for another NBUS challenge over here at Darnell's and also a Short Challenge on Christian Card Makers on Facebook, (make a card using red and blue, and mail to someone in group, as led of LORD). So out came Brushos + curiously the Brayer! and hunted for my Iridescent medium.
These items are not NBUS (Darnell's term for "Not Used Before Schtuff"), but the technique is....
Then brayered over the sheet spreading and blending the colour. There was an abundance. Cleaned ink off brayer onto second of 3 sheets, on third sheet smooched it onto first one, and brayered the excess ink on both spare sheets. (Showing my hand because Jules asked me how messy they get? well with brayer, hardly at all! ☺) |
Allowed to dry overnight. |
My other NBUS apart from technique is Tattered Lace Delicate Gate Die by Stephanie Weightman, free in Magazine Issue 31, bought very reasonably on eBay. Also had sheets of free DP in it.
Here you can see the crimson and cobalt blue on close up. Will have great fun using the rest of these sheets. I think this is a good way and very different way to use brushos. |
Posting few photos of Oz, from art exhibition of aboriginal art locally, very good quality, plus an update on our pineapple.

This one is just after Christmas, as you can see it is a brommeliad. Photo below is today's. |
I've been a really bad blogger and behind in commenting, for which i am very sorry, trying to do catch up.
Summer is really here and we're on our summer hols til end of January. Visitors all of this week and then more coming end of next week so things are full on! Do love it, though. 💖
Special prayers for all victims and families affected by the Bourke St Mall, Melbourne rampage, four dead twenty injured at the hands of one crazy man drove through pedestrians. Sad and foolish actions of one man, so sad indeed.

Thanks so much everyone for popping over and saying hi!
And may God bless your day wherever you may be!

Wow that is just a fantastic technique I must stop looking at blogs and have a go. Just love my brusho's and I think I have some iridescent medium in my stash from years ago....wonder if it is going to work. Only one way to find out.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards too.
Crafty hugs x
The die cuts from your technique backgrounds look amazing! I always am just so happy to see how a die cut will look so I appreciate your posting the backgrounds before cutting.
ReplyDeleteYour pineapple is doing so well! Look how grown up! Enjoy your visitors!
Fabulous technique and card Shaz. Beautiful aboriginal artwork and photos..loz
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous technique, thank you! Your card is absolutely gorgeous! Wonderful Aboriginal artwork and lovely garden pics too! xxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteGreat use of brusho's to make your own papers and cut them! Fabulous card, love the white embossed background, too, so impresssive!
ReplyDeleteStunning photo of aboriginal arts and your pineapple looks fabulous!
Have a lovely weekend
This looks like a fun technique and not too messy. It gives great results and will be different every time. I'll have a go but I'll need to make some space first. AKA tidying up. The finished die cuts have almost a metallic look. I'm very impressed by the pineapple.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous use of brushos and iridescent medium Shaz!! Love the resulting card, it's a stunner.
ReplyDeleteBlessings

Hi Shaz, what a great technique, the results look fantastic, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always. Your talent never fails to astound me. I don't think I would ever have the patience for that. Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my post. Your prayers mean the world to me.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Betsy
Hi Shaz, a stunning card and some LO's for later! Love the diecuts with the varied colours with the sparkly and inky paper. I'm glad that last heat wave is over, 30C inside the house when going to bed one night and a drop from 36C to 13C overnight. Thank you for the lovely comments on my blog, have a great week with your visitors... Megan
ReplyDeleteI have not tried the brusho's yet, but it looks like you had a lot of fun playing with them. Oh my do they make lovely patterns for the die cut outs, just lovely against the white background!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the art exhibit gave you lots of inspiration for your own art work, wow amazing creations.
Your pineapple is really growing fast isn't it. Hope you are enjoying your visitors and the summer time fun!!
Your enthusiastic posts are always such fun, Shaz, and so educational and inspirational! Go you for developing a brand new technique!!! Now you shall have to name it ... if you don't, you know I will, haha! SBHB sounds good: Shaz Brays Her Brushos!! I can't wait to give this a go!! The resulting cards with die-cuts made from your new technique are so beautiful! Thank you for sharing how you did it, the art photos, and the photos of your incredible growing pineapple! And thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #8! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteI need a brayer abd done if thst medium, love how it completely tra shorts the brusho background, reading all the white areas. A fun and inspiring post!
ReplyDeleteLove the technique you used to produce this beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have been having real inky fun!!!! You nade another beauti=ulf card too! I adore the aboriginal artwork, amazing! That pineapple is doing really well! Great fun! TFS! xxx
ReplyDeleteSo much ink on your fingers! Even more on the papers though so I guess that's a win. I think the backgrounds are so dull but then you die cut them and they are so cool!
ReplyDeleteI'm behind on commenting too Sharon, and trying to get my comments in. Don't think I will catch up with everyone but am trying my best. Yes, your summer weather-I wouldn't be commenting much either! Plus company, which is so fun, so don't you worry about that commenting! I love, love, love your card! So beautiful!!! I love how you are using the brusho's backgrounds. I hope to try this out as well. Just need to find the time and my stuff. lol Yes, it is very sad that one person has to cause so much death and destruction. I don't know what is wrong with people anymore that they have to hurt and kill other people. It's a shame and I hope this soon stops. It's like they get to much attention on TV and it inspires others to do the same type of thing. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful!! You've made it look more beautiful by die cutting! That looks awesome! Thanks for sharing pics of your pineapple. Oh me too! I'm very behind on commenting and sometimes nowadays I'm forced to skip. Life happens!! Thank you so much for the lovely comment you have left on my IBS post. You made my day :)
ReplyDeletehi must try that with my Brushos, but need some iridescent medium first. Love the effect.
ReplyDeleteShaz, saw your gorgeous brusho card at Darnell's NBUS challenge. My you've got a beautiful effect with the brushos and Iridescent medium. Never though to try that (will do so!) The TL insert die looks very elegant as you've placed over the pretty white embossing, and I love the butterfly in the matching color shades. Also enjoyed the intriguing art photos you've shared, and always enjoy seeing the countryside pics you post! TFS & Hugs
