WOYWW + Birthdays - Red Eyed Green Frog...

hi there one and all,
Firstly to my desk, as it is WOYWW or What is on your Workdesk Wednesday (pop over to Julia's and please join in, do!).
And joining in with Work it Wednesday @Simon Says Stamps (new - new digi, new hessian ribbon, first time used brushos with embossing water colour card, too)!
Okay so I've tricked you... this is last week's desk.. this weeks will come .. but thought better show the piece I was working on that I hid from you first.. note the square die out from SB Marvellous squares as it s used as corners below.
Sizzix folder leaves - from the Peacock set, bought this folder loose on eBay no case.
In case you wnat to know what brushos used. It is Lime green, Yellow, Olive Green, yellow Ochre. I learnt in making this no two water colour papers are equal, the colour didnt move much on this unless you really wet it.. but dried okay. (of course I found a loose snippety sheet of paper and dont really know which one it was)
Didn't have right colour card so embossed with SU Sizzix Lattice folder (extended), and inked it up, ended using other side though.
Finished card, the photo is googled digi of a painting by Pravin Sen of the  Red Eyed frog native to Australia. Stamp, Happy birthday gold embossed, is by Lawn fawn too much to say. The image below shows corners - sorry, it wont go where I want it to, will it?
Okay here is my desk now .. (except one thing has changed, the image on left has been trimmed and edged with soft purple tones. This is a new PB stamp called "Bejeweled" a real favourite already, from Christmas gift. So this the play with it and managed three toppers out of four goes, then made the proper card for tomorrow's birthday. I will be back in day or so with the follow up post, God willing.
Now to the pickies from downunder ... taken on our icecream drive.. a surfer or two, if you look really well, taken on mobile so not really good. .. but hot and sunny downunder!

Well, I'm delighted to welcome a new wonderful encourager ..

  2. Hi Shaz, love your card the frog looks brilliant against the brusho embossed card, just like a rainforest. It also reminded me of my brothers froggy friend that used to come up through the loo, no matter how often they caught and released the frog away from the house it kept coming back... your new stamp set looks great too... stay cool... have a great week... 7. Hi Shaz I love your frog card. What an amazing looking little creature he is. He looks so full of character. I can't imagine having something so colourful hopping around in the garden! I love your Brushos background and it works so well with that little guy.

Your new PB stamps are very pretty and I love how you've used them. I've a feeling we're going to see these around a lot. Enjoy the rest of your day. Barbxx

  8. I was wondering how you had done the backing for the froggy picture as I have that die and it doesnt look anything like it!Lol. Have actually seen these little cuties IRL as the Living Rain Forest (a nature reserve) is only a few miles away form where we are and they had these in a huge wall to ceiling tank which is set up to mimic their living conditions. They are quite hard to spot being only tiny but if you stand in front of the glass for long enough Mesmerised (as one does) they get fed up and come peeking out from behind the leaves. Hugs Mrs A.

  9. A fabulous card Shaz, that amazing background sets off the frog to perfection.
I'm still drooling over your beach photos...look at that amazing blue sky! So dull cold and dreary here today...but not long now until spring, already signs of daffodils and the odd crocus is blooming! Unfortunately the forecast for later today is ...snow!!!

  17. That Frog is so cute. He looks like he's going to hop right off of the card. You are so talented. Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog. I'm still laying down a lot, but hopefully the back is healing. I can only dream of days like your down under photos. We're supposed to get another 10 inches of snow today. Good thing I'm not going outside.

  35. Hi Shaz - It is great to know which Brusho colours you have used as I am a big fan of them - I also like to use them as watercolour paints as they are so vibrant and can be left to dry on a palette and then brought back to life with a drop of water. I must say, your desk looks a lot like mine at the moment as I am busy making samples for upcoming shows. Thanks for kind and encouraging words left on my Blog - I am now of follower of yours! 38. It's 3 degrees here today Shaz, and oh so freezing cold, so your Aussie photos are making me feel just a tad envious. I hear from my cousin in Perth that they are having the worst rain, causing flooding, so it's not all good in Australia at the moment. Your card is fabulous - I love the embossed and Brusho background and the frog image is so cute. Like the PB stamp too. Hope you are having a great weekend. Hugs, Elizabeth x #21
