Hi everyone...about time I posted again! Been very busy here in summery Oz. Last week was visitors - swimming, going to movies, road trips north south to have lunch in country or by another beach.. really tough! So good to have this annual visit and fun! This year is going to be a busy year I think, as it already half way through January!
Time for WOYWW for Workdesk Wednesday over at Julia's place! To my work in progress!
Am in
middle of making a batch of cards for a present, a wedding present
actually, thought of making wedding thank yous but the bride asked for
general thank yous so that’s what I’m doing. Over at Darnell’s she’s
started a brand new challenge this year it is called Two-fer Card Challenge. Make two cards but different ones, with same stamp or die.
Must
be card any mediums style. January challenge is FEATHERS!!
Mm, I thought
feathers first thought birds, then thought of this set of feather
stamps. Made two cards one in same style but different colour. Wasn’t
sure this would qualify enough difference, so at this point am trying to
make another card but different all around. I’m using brushos here.
Currently addicted to them. Underused like a lot of things.
This desk shows some cards in making for wedding gift, top desk is start of my two-fer challenge, light coating with Distress inks allowed to dry before adding brushos. Stamped some left some plain!
The cards are Stamplorations Feather set, Thanks Stamp also Stamplorations greeting set, Mask is Tim Holtz Mosaic, isn’t it nice? and Elizabeth craft HB die.
I was
asked to show my pineapples. They’re quite uninteresting that is why I
haven’t. Not enough rain, been quite dry here, for months now, and
they’re growing even slower than normal and I don’t water enough either.
This second one at front copped hailstorm we had on New Years Day. The one at back was protected. Hail wasn't huge but very sharp, lots of it, and plants like frangipanis were shredded.
Will share beach shot these, taken on an icecream drive last week before my visitors arrived.
Was such a glorious day. Really has been good summer thus far except for lack of rain!
May God bless you in your day wherever you may be, and thanks so very
much for all your kind encouragement.

ReplyDeleteI can see why you are enjoying the brushos. The cards are lovely. Glad at least one of your pineapples survived the hail. You are a busy lady.

Shaz, those those cards are gorgeous! Loving all of that yummy color and the textures! Just beautiful! I must say that that is the first time I have ever seen how pineapple's grow! I know, what rock do I live under! LOL That is too cool! How wonderful for you to have them! I am not necessarily a "beach person" but I tell you that view is simply fantastic! What a blessing to be sure! Happy WOYWW to you and have a blessed rest of the week! :) Felicia #31
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, Happy New Year (in case I missed saying that before!) Just saw your lovely feather cards over at Twofer, and zipped over to get a closer look. Beautiful work with the brusho-s and with the Distress Inks. The stencil work is wonderful. Always enjoy the plant & beach pictures you share, enjoy your visitors, and TFS, Hugs & God Bless.
ReplyDeleteLove your cards and calligraphy and the Scripture at the end of your post. Your technique is beautiful. I can't imagine a hot Christmas, we have snow here in Chicago, and were very happy to have a white Christmas! God bless and have a good week!

Awesome work, what beautiful cards you have there! I also enjoy your pineapple pictures, and the ocean, wow, I want to live there! : )
ReplyDeleteI love what you did for the twofer challenge! Very cool and very different cards!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your photos. The hail was the wrong form of precipitation, but at least it was a little water. Have a good day!
Hello shaz, lovely feathery cards and all different to me, I am not a cardmaking person rather an art journaller, everyone his thing but still joined by our desks 😉thx for your visit earlier,Vicky
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog and leaving such a kind comment, Shaz! I am now a new follower of yours via email, and I'm looking forward to all the inspiration I'll get from your creative endeavors. I love the feather cards you shared today. This two-fer challenge thing is fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your twofer cards, love both styles and great job with the brushos.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had enough rain/snow here either but we are getting some. Glad you had a good time with your visitors!
Wow! So many glorious feather cards, each one of them a work of art! I'm so happy that you stopped by my blog for a visit and invited me to visit your blog as well. I've visited before as I am already a follower of your blog. A sister in Christ and in crafting. Live doesn't get any better than that!
ReplyDeleteYour photos were a delight to view, as here it is cold with a bitter wind howling all around us. And speaking of delights, your feathery cards are just lovely! I love the colors you've used on them, and the depth and texture of each of your cards. They are wonderful. Thank you for joining us at the Twofer Card Challenge. Bev
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Shaz! Perfect for snippets and am sure Darnell will have loved them - in too much of a hurry here to check. LOVE your photos of where you live - we could do with secent weather here right now. Our hailstones the other evening turned into a full blown snow storm, sigh.

Fabulous cards and stamping Shaz..Loz
ReplyDeleteYour brushos cards are all so beautiful Shaz! Love those little pots of powder. So fun to play with. Gorgeous cards for your wedding gift. And two beautiful unique feather cards! Especially love that mosiac stencil --- it's a real WOW! factor! Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge.
ReplyDeleteOh, dear Shaz, you are amazing with the Brushos! What beautiful card you've made! You are one busy gal! I love seeing your pineapples, and they do grow slowly in general (sort of like watching paint dry - haha). But it's harder when they don't get enough rain. Wow, that was "killer" hail you had. Sorry about the frangipanis. And as always I love to see photos of your beautiful beaches and ocean scenes. Ah, the beauty God has given to us...just a taste of what is to come! Much love, precious Shaz! Hugs and praying! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove your two-fer - that's brilliant Shaz, and what a beautiful gift for a bride.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings

What a wonderful idea! We're going to a wedding next month, but they only want monetary gifts :/
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while, but happy WOYWW!

Hi Shaz! Lovely creations here and so much work has gone in to them too, thank you so much for sharing these with us at Penny Black and More xxxx
ReplyDeleteMissing summer, hating winter. I love the cards you are making and what a super idea for her to want thanks you cards. Very special.
ReplyDeleteHugs Monica #37 thanks for visit.
Your cards this week are as beautiful as always. I'm so impressed by your skill in making them and what a nice gift for the new bride. I always like to have generic thank you notes on hand too.
ReplyDeleteYour Aussie shot gives me hope that winter won't last forever here! :-)
Thank you for your thoughts and especially your prayers for Dennis. He is still not well at all and is supposed to fly to Texas for work on Sunday afternoon. I'm hoping that can be cancelled. He was supposed to preach the sermon at church on Sunday too, but I found someone else willing to do that for him.
Our Lord God is all powerful and I'm praying for a swift recover for Dennis and that I don't get it.
I hope you have a lovely weekend my sweet friend.
Blessings always,
Betsy
How delighted I am to see your beautiful feather cards in the Twofer gallery, Shaz! I know how busy you are and so I can't thank you enough for taking the time to do that and give me a lovely shoutout! You're the BEST! Mwah! Each design is different and the occasions are different and the work is exceptional so well done on all counts! (The bride is going to be over-the-moon happy with the general thank you cards!) I always love to see your outdoor photos, too. Sorry about the hail, love the pineapples, and big sigh of joy: absolutely love the beach/ocean shots!! Blessings and hugs my friend, Darnell
ReplyDeleteWow, wonderful cards! Thanks for joining us at Penny Black & More and good luck!

LOVE your Brushos cards! I got a GC for Amazon for Christmas, and I am thinking of using it for Brushos, you may have just made my mind up for me! they look like so much fun! Such a great use of your feathers as well, perfect for the Twofer Card Challenge! I'm so impressed with the fact that you have a pineapple growing in your yard, something we could never have here! Love seeing your Ozzie summer! Have a great week! Lindart #30
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz, a gorgeous set of cards as a wedding gift. Love the colours you used with the white details. Hope you are keeping cool in all the heat, our rhubarb copped the worst from the hailstorm snapping some stalls off completely. Have a wonderful week.... Megan
ReplyDeleteYour cards are so beautiful and full of layers. Your customer will love them. Happy late WOYWW. Dorlene #33
ReplyDeleteMy brushos are not much used, I don't seem to get the same effect as you, you manage to get very pretty and artsy backgrounds. Perfect for simple feather stamps that don't cover up too much of the backgrounds.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a wonderful post and so inspiring to see the different panels you were able to create. Each card is so original and unique, yet I loved seeing them tie together so well, too. I enjoyed the inspiring photos as well and found the entire post utterly inspiring. Thank you for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have been having such an awesome time! I am loving your Twofer cards - just gorgeous! The wedding gift on your desk is looking fab too! xxx
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm a late visitor, but better late than never. Love your feathery cards something magical about a feather. Wish we could grow pineapples here in Spain, I have just harvested my orange trees and pink grapefruit. See you tomorrow at WOYWW. Anickoana #3
ReplyDeleteYour certainly look like you have a lot of great cards in the works Sharon! I have only played with Brusho's once and really want to get back to them as they were so much fun. I love your feather cards, you did the challenge right, unlike me. lol Loved seeing the pictures of OZ, but sorry about the hail damage. Hail is not good for anything and I know it sheds the crops around here as well as plants and such. I wish I could grow a pineapple plant here, but don't think it is hot enough, long enough. lol Hope you guys get some much needed rain soon. Love the beach picture as well. Hugs, Brenda
