Snippets for Scrappy Mo’s Christmas Challenge + WOYWW

Yes, back again quickly with another card, just in time for Scrappy Mo’s July Christmas challenge.. as today is 31st July, ooops! But at least I’ve managed to join every month, often with multiple offerings a blessing cos am into three dozen now for Dec. 😊 now to desks as it’s time for WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Pop over to Julia’s Stamping Ground to check out all the best crafty desks! To my desk this morning Desk 1.
This was earlier today, I’m getting ready for PanPastel background so have out pastels, sponges, and Xpress-it card which is lovely and smooth for it. Always best to lay down a light colour down first before adding more, makes it easier, with inks, pastels etc. here used light mauve.
Desk 2 this is PanPastel part finished and heat embossed the Numbers verse from few weeks back (here - answered **PanPastel questions** at end of  this post) by Stampendous. I used the T section of the Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure I’d lined up wooden stamp correctly, with the measure twice stamp once technique!
Here is the offering for Mo’s challenge...
An upcycled Card, I started it on 25th would you believe, did bit each day and finally done by 31st! The verse “For unto Is A Child is Born” is by Unity an Itty Bitty Set, used SU Oval punches for the greeting.
A few Aussie photos today, firstly sweet pea in our garden, it’s totally confused, it thinks it’s 1st Sept and spring not 31st July, and winter. The plant normally grows to 5 feet+, it's less than 2 feet.. and flowering.
The rest, are courtesy of a travelling family member, firstly a double rainbow from their beach view campsite this afternoon.
Secondly a lovely (thankfully from a distance) lace monitor lizard also near their camp. Amazing markings.
Lastly ‘tis some fairy penguins from a visit at end of last week to Preservation Park (caring injured mammals, etc), when their grandies were in town.
Well, that’s me for today. I’m a lot better I think, but not counting my chickens really. Praising God and so thankful, legs are ok wondrously and am able to walk and even work in the garden, starting the roses on this Monday! just in time for winter work, eh?!!
Pray you’re all well, and thanks so much for popping over for a peek and chat. May God richly bless you wherever you maybe!
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x
Thought for Today
Our God is never weary! This really grabbed me this week, I’m up to Isaiah, in reading my bible through in a year.
Isaiah 40:28-29
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

  7. That is a beautiful rainbow! I'm so glad to hear that you are doing better, but please don't overdue. Your photo is right, God is never weary and I'm so grateful for that. We watched an interesting program last night about the "grand solar minimum". It talked about how cold everything is becoming. Quite the opposite of global warming. That would explain your plant. Who knows? Only our Lord and Father, who is in control of it all and I'm quite happy to leave it all in His wonderful hands.
Wishing you a wonderful day my dear sister. It was so good to read that you are able to be in your garden.
    Blessings always,
    Betsy

  9. That's awesome news to hear about your legs..absolutely brilliant, let's hope the improvement continues! Just getting out and about makes you feel so much better in yourself. I enjoyed seeing your pics of the wildlife, that lizard is huge and the penguins are so cute. In answer to your question, we're not playing at the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen, that's open to all countries of the world. The National Eisteddfod moves around Wales and is just open to UK residents...we are playing in the Brass Band Section 2 category (Section 1 and Championshp are above us, sections 3/4/youth are below) We've practised hard and can only wait to hear what the judge thinks now!

  16. Glad to hear that your legs are doing better and that you are able to get into the garden. We just have a postage stamp sized garden compared to our last one, but it suits our health needs quite well.
After being a bit restricted after the surgery from climbing into my raised garden beds, my gardens were looking really overgrown. That is one thing about perennials...they always need reined in and deadheaded.

But now that I can et my knee bent enough to climb up into the garden (just two steps), I have been on a mission to get them in order!

Your card is so pretty, Shaz. I really like the verse you chose!

hanks for taking part in the July Rudolph Days Challenge.

  18. It makes me happy to read that the legs are good...don’t go overdoing the use of them...take my advice! We have an everlasting sweet pea which we’ve pulled up twice because it’s just too rampant, it doesn’t climb, it covers ground. Still it thrives and our building site is now a sea of green and purple, about knee height. When we tried to train it, it didn’t flower. Strange but true. I’m now planning that the area it’s taken over shall be planted potion so that it can be accommodated rather than fought!
Love your work with the pan pastels...I managed to miss them entirely, mind you these days, I tend to idle and choose patterned paper backgrounds. Your start light and work up is such a top tip, I can’t tell you how many muddle puddles I’ve created in the learning!

  19. Loving your work with the pan pastels Shaz - I look forward to seeing that card finished :). Your Christmas card is exquisite!!
So glad to hear you are healing well - I too need to start on the roses, but the weather here has gone to the pack (again) after an almost springlike weekend, and I have a funeral to go to tomorrow. I am supposed to be retired, but I don't know how I ever found time to work!!
    Blessings

  22. HI Shaz, love the card. Beautiful colours. Keep pondering getting some Pan Pastels. Sweet Peas are so pretty, aren't they? Really late this week, spent most of yesterday afternoon in A&E, as the breathlessness wasn't easing off. They gave me IV Antibiotics & steroids, and some nebulisers, which has helped, but it's still not what it should be. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4X

  25. Glad to hear you are a lot better Shaz even with the added word *think* we all keep you in our thoughts. Great work with that recycled card, there are some monthly challenges I have to join in but over Summer it can be a struggle as it's my busiest time of the year.
Love those wee penguins, nice to see another centre taking care of our injured feathered friends such a rewarding job to give a little back.
Wishing you a wonderful week, creative blessing Tracey xx
