My desk has a recurring theme, a little like last week, but using diecuts instead of stamp for greeting. Another card in snippets on right hopefully.
Seem to need to put scissors away there on top left, it’s pile!

I’ve a question for all wise crafters out there.
I need a gold Embossing or texture paste.
What’s your favourite gold stencil paste, please???
I wasn’t 100% over only gold I’ve owned which was Dreamweaver - on colour + tendency to dry out.
Hard to source here, so few ideas from folks who’ve used them would be great!
Well, just two cards today.
First partly on desk with nativity CCD from last week, inked background like last week. Used Embossalicious Regency Swirls EF with CCD die set sentiment of “Wise Men still seek Him”.
I really like this sentiment, but must confess found the layering tedious!
Although leaving bottom words in white card base and adding each layer on top helped. Then lifted up each word as one thick layer, this made it much easier.
Used T ruler to make sure they were straight and balanced (have fixed two errors didn't see till saw photo๐ค).
Second card was in my Almost Made Up bag, it’s a SU very old stamp of silhouette daisies stamped in white EP, added ink resist and mounted ages ago.
The stamped greeting is sympathy set by Inspired to Stamp.
Now to Aussie photos. Quite few so you may skip, but so pretty very many of them! Taken by family travelling over a month ago in Western Australia, four hours flight or more from here.
We drove up to Cape Peron which is the most northern tip of Francois Peron National Park. It was a varied 4WD track. We set out in the rain, still very windy. Rain made the track sticky, and the clay pans a little slippery. As drove further north there was little rain, so the track was drier. Then it was very soft sand but so very bumpy ๐ณ๐ณ The coastal views with the red sandhills, white sand on the beach, and aquamarine coloured water was simply stunning. Strong winds were not conducive to seeing any sharks, giant manta rays, dugongs or dolphins - a little disappointing. However, we had a fantastic day and this part of the coast is certainly a unique part of Australia. Springtime in W.A. is so varied!
Our stay in Kalbarri was very windy for all but the last day. The coastal drive was well worth it despite the strong winds and rough seas. The rugged coastline was interesting and the Natural Bridge was the stand-out of all the stops.
It was here that and we managed to find a great specimen of the Murchison rose.... the others were all too windblown! It was too windy for any whales or dolphins but the gorge walks we found to be more spectacular than the coastline here.
Down on the waterfront there is a unique piece of public art. It’s an intriguing 1.5metre sphere named Horizon by artist Lucy Humphrey. It turns the world upside down because of the water inside and how the light reflects off it.

The drive through the National Park to all the walks did not disappoint with wildflowers.. although some had finished many were in full bloom! We even managed to find a couple of Mangles Kangaroo Paw which was beautiful.

UPDATE - Drs visit had good and not so good results, but hopefully new meds just beginning on PBS will help. Start next week, time will tell, I pray so.
On our rain front. MUCH answered prayer over weekend. I sat up late into Sun night, watching, praying over towns, naming them one by one, on the Bureau of Meteorology map.
Much rejoicing as the rain bands pulsed across, and numbers in green showed rainfall.
Much rejoicing as the rain bands pulsed across, and numbers in green showed rainfall.
Darryn & Michelle at Carroll had 22mm (almost an inch) praise God, and Bourke had almost 100mm. It was amazing to see water lying around in giant lake-like paddocks, and FB videos of old farmers dancing and running around jumping in it like kids! The joy of rain.. in Oz.
Praying on for spiritual and physical rain upon our land. May God have mercy as VERY much more of both is needed. Some towns out of water had none, but it was amazingly wide-spread, good falls.
We had none too.. but we’ve more access to water here.
Well, that’s it for today, sorry long rambling post but folks ask, so I update.
Thanks for popping over particularly if you’ve time for a chat, it’s deeply appreciated.
May God bless your day wherever you maybe.
Prayer hugs,
Shaz in Oz.x
Thought for Today:
“Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
This is what prayer is for believers - prayer is chatting, talking to our Heavenly Father, over big and little things, just like we would our earthly dad.
God loves us, knows us like no one else does - what concerns us, concerns Him.
So sitting, kneeling, walking or working we can be praying..
Casting my care upon Him knowing He cares for me.
God gets it.. the length, depth, breadth of our burden.
We can trust Him with it.
If we are trusting in the dear Lord Jesus alone for salvation, then nothing is too big for Him.

Hi Shaz. Much going on for you all over the other side of the globe. How true that God cares for us, and that we can place our burdens and concerns safely in His hands!! Two lovely cards there on your desk today. Well done. Loving the Aussie shots!
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Glad you had a good trip, love the pics . I don't use gold much sorry . Helen #4
ReplyDeleteLove your cards and the photos are stunning. The only gold paste I have is dreamweaver, can't say I've used it much. I'm sure someone will have a suggestion!! Happy WOYWW Cindy #19
ReplyDeleteOh, the color of the ocean is so beautiful! I'm praising God along with you that the rains have fallen. I'm so thankful to Him for providing the rain. Your cards are also beautiful. What an amazing talent you have my dear sister. I love all of your photos and the updates you give us. You are such a blessing in my life.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Love all your cards but especially the silhouette flowers, those are fantastic. An embossed background always looks brilliant in white as well. Thank goodness the rains have come, for the wildlife as well as the farmers!
ReplyDeleteHugs LLJ 2 xx
The blue silhouette flowers are really effective - such a lovely card. Thank you for sharing your trip photos too. That Horizon sculpture is incredible - even the shadow it casts is beautiful! sorry to hear of the mixed results from Dr, and hoping the new meds do help.
ReplyDeleteAmelia #22
Happy WOYWW ! Great photographs. I didn't realise the rain situation was so bad
ReplyDeleteThe water table is high here at the moment. My son's garden had a huge amount of water on it. If we could swap our rain for some of your sunshine!!
That sculpture is amazing and certainly worth seeing. God bless x
So happy for the rain!!! That's wonderful news!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are beautiful! I, too, used a T square but the one that goes with my Tim Holtz glass mat. Sure does help!
Your scenic pictures are fabulous! I love the different flowers and foliage and ocean views. The sphere is so cool!
God bless and have a great week!

Such lovely cards today! Both are gorgeous. God does care for us and we can turn to him in our hour of need. I pray daily and find comfort there!

Fabulous card and die cuts Shaz... I have BoBunny Glitter paste. I have only used it once an a stencil but it worked great...Loz
ReplyDeleteHi ya Shaz, i'm not sure if I have any gold embossing paste, I do have some gold mouse by Tonic Studio's which if heated it puffs up, quite good for mixed media. Good luck with your search. Pretty cards, love the sympathy design. Stunning red sand views along with those wildflowers. The sphere is something I would love to see. Sending WoywW blessing your way Tracey #11
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz, more gorgeous photographs and beautiful cards too. Wishing you a happy woyww, Angela x11x
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards! (And photos!) Love the textured background on your Christmas card. (As to gold embossing paste... would adding gold ink/glitter to regular embossing paste work for you?) Thank you for joining us at ABC CHristmas Challenge!
ReplyDeleteWow! Amazing photos--thanks for sharing those! And your cards are FABulous! What blessings these will be to your recipients!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful pair of cards Shaz - I do admire your work!
ReplyDeleteThe Aussie photos are beautiful - and I also enjoy travelling vicariously through them :)
I so hope/pray the new meds are effective, and have no side effects for you.
Blessings
Maxine
I always love seeing what's on your desk Sharon. I am looking for a good gold embossing powder too, so far I am liking the "Wow" embossing powders but haven't used a gold one yet. Trying to use up my SU gold embossing powder first. That one is ok, but don't want to go through a dealer to buy it. Your first card is stunning! I've not seen that sentiment in a die cut. Yes, looks like it could be a little fiddly, but you did a great job with it and I love it on the card. Who makes that embossing folder? It is stunning as well. This card was well worth the fiddly sentiment! Your second card is equally beautiful. I love your inky background and those daisy silhouettes. Your sentiment is lovely too. Love it! I always enjoy the Aussie shots. You guys have such different plants than we do and I love seeing them. They are so unusual. I always love seeing the coast line shots too. That spear is so unusual as well, love how everything looks upside down in it. Very cool. Thanks for always sharing some great scenery with us from your homeland! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteLove your nativity card, it may have been a hassle to do the sentiment but it looks great with the image die! I like how you cut that panel, very neat!
ReplyDeleteHoping the new meds do the trick. Good to hear some rain came, a can just see the rejoicing!
So happy to hear that rain has fallen and pray there is more to follow Shaz. Love the cards. the wording on the first one was well worth the trouble of layering up, it looks very effective. Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #5 PS. I haven't had problems myself with the Dreamweaver paste , but I prefer the colour of the copper.
ReplyDeleteStunning cards, love the way you have divided the panel on the silhouette daisy card, brilliant idea! I am in love with the wise men seek him still die cuts, do you remember who it is by? Iwould really like to buy a set for next years cards! I so much appreciate you sharing your card designs and techniques and also photos of your homeland. It is a wowza country to look at! Still praying for more rain :O)
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my favourite Bible verses! Love the photos of Australia, and especially the ball - you can buy glass balls called Lens balls which give a similar effect in photography. Your cards are stunning, but I am not sure I would have enough patience for the wise men card! Sorry for the late visit this week. Happy belated WOYWW. Thanks for sharing. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#14)
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz! Such amazing cards!! I rarely use embossing paste but have the Aladine Izink 3D texture paste and love it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, incredible! I have never seen those flowers, thanks for sharing!
So glad for the rain!!
Sorry I’m late. Really enjoyed the WA pictures again, the flora is so enormously different to anything I’m used to seeing. The sea shots are gorgeous. I love the Wise Men card, lovely phrase anyway, and on that white background it’s very striking. I cant help with the embossing paste unless you have powder version of Pearl-Ex...that mixes well with my cheap white paste. I cant help otherwise because my (must be) 15 year old pot of Dreamweaver paste is now impossible to open - even Mr D couldn’t crack it..I guess at some point I’ve scraped paste into the screw part of the lid. Hey ho..I can at least tell that there isnt much left in it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards and lovely photos - i do love seeing all your photos. Emmax
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks for sharing these beautiful projects and puctures with us. Thanks for playing along with us at ABC Christmas. Looking forward to seeing your creative projects in the future galleries again.
