Hi there everyone, yes .. tis Wednesday! Popping over to deskland at Julia’s Stamping Ground! Check out the friendly, creative, “germ-free” 😁 bunch at Julia’s blog with “What is on Your Workdesk Wednesday”!
My desk today: “Much a do about nothing” really, as was like this when went to bed last night. I had finally finished image on last week’s post and trying to sort which red in card and ribbon too. Funny isn’t how many shades there can be of one colour yet none really just right?
Also is stamped greeting the Bird Stamp is a Sheena Douglas Little Bit Sketchy 2 - Faith. A beautiful sentiment for Today!
Will, God willing, finish card next week.
This is an aside, in case others are like me and ignorant on new Eco Printers. I do a lot of printing, good one died, had two printers die in 4 years. Bad landfill issue, so found these Eco printers are answer. They dont use cartridges! YAY!
On the side are the ink tanks, there is supposedly 2 years of ink there, when it runs out its only (at today's prices) $Aud20 to fill each colour again. I've 3 yr warranty on it too, good shop around & found this one in my budget. They don't do duplex printing, but pretty much everything else I use.
Now to sharing quickly the steps of the bird colouring (this is for me later, more than anyone, so no need to read it).

The technique is one Beccy of Beccy’s place uses over here.
Image is stamped first in Memento ink Sand on Kraft card. As I didn’t have enough greys in alcohol pens I substituted.
These are colours used in background. Here are stages. It’s done by a stippling affect, I think! ..that’s what I did anyway. Technique I used on shading of just background was used in Impressionism. First to use it was Georges Sérat, called Pointillism.
The background is with alcohol inks - the bird, etc is with Pencils, my sister ages ago upgraded her Prismacolours. Sooo I was given her first set as Birthday-Christmas pressie otherwise I’d not have them.😉
Had fun here, finished image, before die cut shading on first desk. BTW my friend's name is Robin, hence turning this bird into a robin, a change from original bird. It's her 70th, so very special card!
Next wedding card!

Now the card started last week finished, the first post on it here with recipe. Folder is CB plus disc folder. Greeting is digi using SB Elegant Ovals second smallest die.The Aussie shot today is sooo colourful, courtesy of family member from WhatsApp. This is one colourful Holden, I love the beautiful rollers in the background, a good looking surf, no doubt what he was checking out.
I pray you’re all well. I’m feeling a bit peeky here, so taking it easy. The world is so variable at the moment, it’s very much wait and see, and go with whatever turns up.
Late here again, nighty night, was bit better commenting last week, hope to pick up in next few days.
Praying for each of you and your dear ones.
And that you’ll all be kept safe in all things.
And that you’ll all be kept safe in all things.
Love and prayers,
Shaz in Oz.x
Thought for the day:
These two verses came to mind in relation to the variability of the storm we’re going through at the moment.
Yesterday, today for ever,
Jesus is the same.
Yesterday, today for ever,
Jesus is the same.
All may change but Jesus never,
Glory to His name.

I really enjoyed seeing how your put the robin card together....Robins are little birds very close to my heart so it was a very special card to me.
ReplyDeleteStay safe in these difficuly times.
Big hugs,
Annie x #11
We all love robins and your little card is beautiful Shaz. Your last messages give us hope too in these terrible times. Take care and keep safe. xx Jo #15
ReplyDeleteHI Shaz, gorgeous card, love the Robin image. We recently replaced our printer, and like yours, it has tanks instead of the overpriced refills.Stay safe, and have a good week, Hugs, Shaz #6 X
ReplyDeleteI love your cards and wowzah, I could do with a printer like that! Especially these days... these are strange times and all I can do is sit, craft and wait... we're not homebound completely in Holland (we are still alowed to go outside) but social isolation, yes. And the place I work closed its doors (as do the schools, pubs, restaurants and most shops) and since I cannot do my work at home, I am unemployed now. It feels strange to have no job all of a sudden... I can't seem to get myself to being creative today. I'm glad I have my online friends to visit! Take care, stay healthy! Big virtual hug from the Netherlands! Marit #21
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, wow lots to see on your post. We too just purchased the ECO ink printer and so far so good. I refused to pay the new price for ink cartridges on the other one. Loving your little bird, we are enjoying our little fly by s, stop for water and cracked corn critters. But truly hoping for warm weather and the fact that we can be OUTDOORS. Best Wishes thru the turmoil
ReplyDeleteI love the robin card and think you did a wonderful job! I thank you for the two verses too...they are definitely food for thought. I'm self isolating and staying inside as much as possible. Take care and stay well my friend!

I want that car, it is right up my alley!! Love the colouring on the robin, your friend will adore her card - it was interesting to see the process too. Hope you feel better very soon Shaz.

Such a pretty Robin on the card Shaz, but my favorite is the sweet wedding card. I'm sure it will be a treasured keepsake. Thank you for the verses at the end. I've had the words of and old hymn going through my mind for a couple of weeks now, "This world is not my home, I'm just passing through, my treasures are laid up, somewhere beyond the blue. The angels beckon me from Heaven's opens shores and I can't feel at home in this world anymore." It is exactly how I feel. I know who I belong to and where I'm headed. But the things happening in this world are still very unsettling.
ReplyDeleteIf you get two comments from me and one is unfinished, I had a phone call while I was typing and my comment disappeared.
Blessings,

Gorgeous robin Shaz. I have that stamp but never thought of making it into a robin, it works so well. I know a couple of people who have one of these printers and they love them, think it might be the next one we get. Loving the decoration on the car, very colourful. Take care and wishing you a happy creative WOYWW, Angela x12x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card and image Shaz.. I have never heard of an eco printer. off to check this out. I LOVE the Holden... now holden is leaving Australia this will be a fabulous attraction..loz
ReplyDeleteI love the cards.. hope you feel better soon and thanks for sharing the Aussie shot - how beautiful it is (love the car too!) take care Helen #3
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely technique you used on the robin card - very effective, and the wedding card is just gorgeous - I love all your detailing, such pretty pearls and lace.
ReplyDeleteThat is one cool car - somehow it suits the hot sunny climate, I just can't see it pootling around wet grey streets over here!
Stay safe and I hope you feel better soon,
Hugs, Diana x #17
Thanks for sharing how you colored the bird! I've done a bit of pointillism but not much. The bird is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI do have a Canon duplex printer and so far it's made it about 3 years. I'll have to look into the Eco when this one quits.
Love the House Mouse card.
Then there is that car... Oh my gosh is that a hoot!
Hope you get to feeling better. May God give you a healing touch!
God bless!

Beautiful coloring of the bird, love it!! That wedding card is just beautiful and so sweet!
ReplyDeleteHello Shaz, sorry to hear you are not feeling the best. Self isolation, self care and craft will hopefully do the trick. Love love love the birdy pic and your colouring is fabulous. Looks like you paint with pro markers rather than watercolours. Always love your cards and how you add details to make them unique. The colourful holden is a treat. Stay safe dear friend and keep crafting

What a beautiful Robin Shaz. Thanks for sharing how you did it. Great Aussie photo too. Hope you are feeling better soon and that it's nothing sinister. Happy WOYWW. Stay safe. Sarah #2
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz. What a gorgeous robin - thought initially you were starting in on your Christmas cards - but no. A nice sentiment instead. Hope you feel fit again soon. Yes, those scriptures are important to hold on to in these challenging times, when all around us is as shifting sand.
ReplyDeleteTake care. Keep safe. God bless.

Too right about the sentiment for the card Shaz, absolutely lovely one. You are so good at seeking out and researching and using what you’ve learned. So sorry that you’re not feeling great, don’t overdo anything please. Love the artwork on the car, what a job, must have cost a ton! Like you, my eye is drawn to the seaside part of the pic. COuld happily park there and admire while I ate my lunch!
ReplyDeleteOh heck my little one, do be careful and keep yourself well if you can.
ReplyDeleteI told Chas about our printer and he was keen for us to get one - said we can have delivery tomorrow but i reminded him there are other things we need to pay for before a new printer. Something we will definitely think about in the future though. (Probably when we need new cartridges for this one - does it have a scanner?)
On to your robin, (btw how is Robin, I don't recall her posting lately, remember me to her next time you speak). I love how you coloured it in, very effective work there, I will go and read the technique you used in full later.
The wedding card is so pretty, especially with the bride and grooms names on it is a definite keeper. Don't House Mouse images make lovely cards, especially for occasions like this?
Love the car, can see you and me bombing around Australia in it - well in a dream!
Sending Blessings, Hugs and lots of wishes for your safety

ReplyDeleteHi Shaz, sorry you are not feeling well - I really hope you feel better soon. Rest, and take things easy. You have done a beautiful job with the robin card, thank you for sharing how you did it. Im sure the wedding card will also be treasured, with their names on, very special. Wow, that is a colourful car - you would not lose that on a car park! Stay safe, and have a lovely week Heather xx #13
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work Shaz - you really are an wonderful artist, and your colouring is exquisite.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you are under the weather - I guess you have to pretty much self isolate? I will be minimizing my social contacts from now on!
Loving the Holden - that is one colourful vehicle! :) and a wonderful surf shot too.
Love , blessings and prayers

Hi Shaz! Beautiful Robin card, love the technique you used. The wedding card is also very cute, I love House Mouses! I wish my DH would let me paint our car - but as we just bought it, I doubt he ever would! Such a beautiful car though! Almost didn't notice the beautiful view...nice waves and sunshine. Today it is cold, miserable, raining, with wind warnings. Brrr. Have a great week, Lindart #26
ReplyDeleteThe cards are gorgeous, especially the beautiful Robin. I love the verses you have chosen - they are perfect for the occasion. Take care my friend. Happy belated WOYWW. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#14)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful colouring Shaz, your little robin looks amazing! You're lucky to have received such a great gift from your sister... they are beautiful pencils and you obviously know how to use them. You did a really wonderful job with the stippled background and I love your choice of colours. The warm tones are lovely and work perfectly with the little red breast.
ReplyDeleteStay safe Shaz!
Cheers,
Beccy
Hi Shaz, hope you are keeping well? What a great idea that printer is, I really hope it does last as long as it states it will be a great help to cutting down on our landfill. Such a beautiful card, how lovely to create a Robin for your friend of the same name, looks stunning your so talented.
ReplyDeleteKeep strong in these dark times, there is always light we just need to find it. Sending creative wishes your way Tracey xx

G'day to you, Shaz! Praying you and yours continue to be kept in God's safe hand. I always love coming by to visit and see the loving and expert attention you give your creations and I get overwhelmed and cannot remember details, but know that I drank them all in greedily. I'm still using printers a decade or more old so this was educational to me. And yes that rolling blue surf water makes me wanna be a skinny 24 again, heehee. Virtual hugs and kisses xoxo
