(WOYWW post ~ next one down- thank you!)
Hullo there everyone! Well, two quick cards were made at the weekend for two occasions. So raided my snippets drawer 'cos then I can go play in the playground over at Di's Snippets challenge (see here) - better take my woolies! I believe it is cold over there too!!
First one is a baby card ~ used Cuttlebug embossing folder on snippet and added chalk pad to highlight words. Always hate covering this up so went for minimal additions, found the image pre-coloured in my snippets. Added LOTV greeting,hand- cut it out, used SU round scallop punch with blue card.
Second one was a Chris Dark digi image printed in snippets. Coloured with watercolour markers, die cut in Spellbinder deckle oval, hand-edged in green. The deckle card has been lying on my desk for weeks waiting to be made into another card but embossed it for this one instead in Cuttlebug Caramello folder. Bethought myself of the LOTV greeting - my one and only New home stamp, and so used it for this..
Thanks so much everyone for popping over for a peek and chat and may God bless your day wherever you may be,
Shaz in Oz.x

Hi Shaz
ReplyDeleteGreat job on both cards. I think the chalk on the baby card is just the perfect touch. As they say; sometimes less is better. Love the wee hedgehog.
Such a pretty delicate "new home"card.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a great comment. I really appreciate my blogging friends who leave such honest thoughts.

Hello Shaz, I just think your baby boy card is perfect. I like the way you painted the raised letters. The new house card is beautiful too. It almost makes me want to try making my own cards and then I remember what a horrible eye I have at putting things together like that. You make it look very easy, but it's a special talent God has given to you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Gorgeous card,
ReplyDeletelove the embossing background

I love how you kept the card simple. I also find it hard to cover up the embossing words.
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards Shaz! Totally agree about not covering up the embossed words on the first card. Great use of snippets too.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Di xx
Beautiful cards - the baby hedgehog is adorable. I haven't seen that embossing folder, it's lovely, and great use of snippets on both

Lovely cards as always Shaz. I do like the look of embossed vellum. Like you say, its such a shame to hide it, and it makes such an elegant statement. Have a great week, Hugs Shaz #77

ReplyDeleteThat embossing folder is so beautiful. Wherever do you find such things? I don't even have a cutting machine - so I suppose I don't look in the right places....

Two fabulous cards!!! The baby card is such a great idea with that wonderful embossing folder chalked to show the embossed portion off to full advantage!

Off to visit my Mum' (again). She is 5 hours away over a terrible highway...but it is my little sisters 50th birthday...so worth the drive indeed!

Hello Shaz,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind comment on my site. Yes, God's creation is indeed beautiful. Love being out in it. WE awoke the last two ornings here in North Wales to a white world - it has snowed a bit all day, but it isn't really lying and settling. But it IS still beautiful to watch!!
