Yes, it is time for WOYWW, or for the uninitiated it is: What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday - or floor, or wherever you work?! Be game - show us your creative space - a bit of "Look-see" over at our honorable leader's blog - Queen Julia, of the Stamping Ground!

Okay not much going on here, "post-cleaning-day" an' all! Floor and space is pretty spotless. It happens but once a fortnight, makes me tidy up. :D
To right are two cards waiting for me to finish inside, one is shown below the other peeking out is my father's birthday card. It'll be shown soon, has a new method on it.

Also is a small drawer of stamps to left. Trying to sort and catalogue my stamps, so sheets with stamped images on top of the small folder in centre of desk.

How categorise some of them. I seem to have a number of what I call odd-sods :D When compete will do a big reveal(?). I never realised just how many I have accumulated in 20+ years of stamping, and so varied as well.

Here is the latest piece of work done for OSA - or the Oriental Stamp Art group (link here) a Blossom Mingle, stamp some blossoms in Oriental theme; send it off to partner - you get one in return, lovely!
The blossom stamp (Unknown, unmounted stamp bought years ago) inked in Versamark, white embossing powder, heat set. Brayered gloss card stock with SU Lavender lace ink pad, sprayed diamond glimmer mist + glitter touches. Labels 8 Spellbinder die cut, hand-cut edged in black, mounted on Washi paper. The Haiku poem, the Kanji (signature chop) are from Artneko stamps. Found it very hard to photograph with glimmer mist and glitter. Edged at the bottom with EK Arrow border punch border and ribbon. Two butterflies were die-cut from scraps of gloss card with Marianne die, some bling added.

Hi Shaz!! What a beautiful Blossom mingle card! It is so Pretty!! I missed getting on the blossom mingle list! But I will enjoy everyones posts! I think you will enjoy having an index, it is a lot of work but for your unmounted's and essential or even for the WM's if they aren't readily available for veiwing. I always enjoy your photographs especially now, I am so ready for spring!!

I have always wanted to organize and catalog my stamps. But the thought of it makes me ill. I admire anyone who can tackle the task.

nice card! I decided I was going to do all the cataloging on the computer and assign numbers to the stamp sets and not break up sets. I want to cross reference elements in each set so I know where to go to get that stamp. Will let you know how it works. SIL says that there are programs available to do what I want to attmept! ReplyDeletebeautiful card I love the colours and embossing is ace not tried that .My as always you are busy looks like the stamp sorting is quite a task would be easy for me dont even have a small drawer full of stamps yet !! but then i've not done a year yet.. what will I have in 20 mmm! I haven't forgotten about he lebeister award and was very happy and pleased to have received it again,still deciding who to pass onto its soooo difficult. have a fab week and good luck with finishing the the sorting

oops sorry I realised I was looking at the wrong post/cards!!!doh ... they are all ace the blossom card is beautiful and what a great idea of exchanging cards I love the white embossing and now that im getting over my fear of the heat gun my list of wants is growing and top is white embossing powder it looks fab and on your card it is stunning .Have a great day and next time I will make sure Im commenting on the correct post...if I wasn't so nosey wanting to look at everything I wouldn't get muddled LOL ! ReplyDeleteThe blossom card is gorgeous..so many layers and colors and so much texture, but so subtle. It's really rather spectacular. Of course I love purple, but I'm pretty sure that's not the reason I like the tag...lol. Twenty years of stamping is a long time; I bet your catalog will be brimming with wonders. Don't know if I would ever have the patience to do that, but how nice to have them all in one place. Sadly I forget some of mine, although I have to admit that doesn't keep me from buying new ones. Hope you have a lovely week and thanks for your kindness last week on my blog!!
I love all things oriental when it comes to art and that paper is not different...so pretty!! As is the lorikeet......I could do with the sort of weather he likes right now! Brrrrrrrrrrrrr....

ReplyDeleteCongrats on your attempt to sort, organize whatever. I've a few clear stamps yet to decide on "HOW-WHERE" but I've accomplished a lot and it's paid off. LABELING was the most helpful thing for me.

Hiya shaz! Loving the blossom card - and the stamp cataloguing is a labour of love, but SO worth it in the end! I have done all my clear stamps (11 ringbinders full - gulp!) and only have my wooden stamps to de-mount, that will need a deep breath before I start!

I would say come categorize my stamps next, but since you'd be leaving a warm and sunny beautiful bird filled area, to come more than a few inches of snow and below zero F temps.. probably get told no uh! lol

ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful card! Hmm, and how to categorize stamps. I mostly have SU sets and keep them together. I've seen how some people put all their sayings together, Christmas stamps, Floral stamps, etc. Let us know what you end up doing.
The bird is absolutely stunning. I have a yellow sided green cheek conure. She's now saying her name (Poppy) and sweetheart. I'm trying to teach her to say "Come here."

ReplyDeleteThis is my third attempt to leave you a message, but my Kindle died and I have been away from my PC. It looks as though you are doing well with your cataloguing. Well done. By the way, I put up a post yesterday which, at the end, explains a little fo what the Splodge mat does and why it is so good. Hope that will help you. There are copies of the original about at the moment, much cheaper, but the general opinion is that they do not do what the original does. I tend to do most of my printing out on supersmooth card or neenah card or the Clarity card. If I am going to use watercolours, then I use watercolour card. The photographic paper works well for decoupage, though, but I do need to just colour up the edges before assembling it otherwise they show up white. Your embossing has give me ideas of using parchment to get that delicate quality. Must try that one. have a good week, and please send us some of your sun, it is freezing over here. xx Maggie
