Hullo there everyone - ultra fast post; wont be able to comment much but will do my best!
Here is my desk as it is Wednesdays big blog-hop over here ~ "Chez Julia's"! You can see desks of the world over there!
Here you spy some inky fun aka Heather Telford style - masked off main section and inking with three Adirondack pads: Lights ~ Cloudy Blue, lemonade and Cool Peri.
One of my nieces (who doesn't look at this blog) loves dragonflies has a birthday soon, so used this unmounted stamp from Stone House Oriental, sent to me in prize a while back with OSA. Top shot has a rough sheet - testing layout.
Here it is... the single dragonfly was coloured with same inks then double embossed in iridescent Embossing powder. Used Hammer card for this and love texture with the inks. This printed sheet was in stash for ages now, waiting for this card! Had printed it out from a formatted Word doc. about two years for another card, and never used it.
Here is the Aussie shot of the day - our cream poinsettia in flower. Actually this is a few months ago, in our winter. It was pruned last week, that reminded me I had not shared it with you! Our red ones are still flowering.
Thanks so much everyone for popping over for a peek and a chat and may
God bless your day wherever you maybe.. Please do pop over to the candy

ReplyDeleteHoly cow, Shaz, that poinsettia plant is incredible! I don't think I've ever seen such a huge beautiful growth of them!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is really beautiful! We both did the Heather Telford thing on the cards we posted today! How about that!! Happy WOYWW and thanks for coming to see me! Have a wonderful week! Hugs, Darnell #9

ReplyDeleteI adore that card, Shaz! The simplicity of the design really appeals to me..it looks quite oriental. I bet you'll use that dragonfly stamp again and again..it is really lovely!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, it has been a testing week but we are doing ok and my son now knows how to prep, sand, cut in and roller paint walls so that's a bonus ;-)
Hugs, LLJ 35 xx
A gorgeous elegant card, Shaz.Beautiful subtle colours
ReplyDeleteMorning Shaz
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of pruning the poinsettia. Here we struggle to keep a poinsettia alive from one year to the next, never mind pruning them. Thanks for showing us that lovely picture.
Love the dragon flies too, lucky niece getting the finished card.
Blessings

I love your card, simply beautiful! Also those poinsettia are so wonderful! I have never seen anything so gorgeous!

I've never seen a cream Poinsettia - isn't it beautiful. We have to encourage ad keep them potted to have red ones by Christmas, they are so much more beautiful when allowed to grow in a garden!
ReplyDeleteLove your card, the ink pad choices are delicious; I think that's the bigger skill for these blended style backgrounds, colour choice.
Hi Shaz, here for two reasons today, WOYWW and to take a closer look at your lovely snippet card. Love dragonflies too and I like the inked panel - using light colours is so effective with such a delicate creature.
ReplyDeleteYour cream poinsettia is stunning, the bract shape seems quite different from the red ones we keep in pots over here ... longer and thinner I think. And always a thing of wonder to see them growing quite naturally outside in your garden.
Thanks for sharing and I hope you both have a good week. Elizabeth x #42
That is a gorgeous DF card - she will love that. :-) Your Poinsettia is amazing... I used to have wild red ones growing in my garden too :-)

hi Shaz, truly gorgeous card, love the colour scheme. Wonderful pointsettias- another one of your plants thats a very tender house plant only over here. By the way, you were quite right about the rose- my bad! I saw a card made with the set in the e-mail promo I got, and assumed all the stamps in the card were on the sheet- clearly not! Glad you spotted it, I'd have come to use it, and be convinced I'd lost it, lol. Have a great week, Hugs Shaz #56 xx
ReplyDeleteYour dragonfly card is lovely - I am sure your niece will love it! Ah the Poisettias are so beautiful - we can't have them in the garden, we just have them in pots!
ReplyDeleteLots of hugs,
Cardarian
The dragon fly card looks very sophisticated. Love the cool colours. this reminds me that I have a dragon fly stamp yet to use!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see a white poinsettia in full flower as have only ever seen red ones before. hope you are keeping well after your ops. hugs Mrs A.

ReplyDeleteThat's what is on my desk - poinsettias! Not sure they look at all like real ones but I do like the die I used. How lucky to have them growing like you do.
ReplyDeleteGreat card - love the colours you have used and I do like the masked out areas (or masked in).
Hope you are well my friend, maybe I will get time to write in a week or so. mega busy at the moment - brain not working as it should so struggling with ideas.

ReplyDeleteGreat dragonfly card Shaz!
ReplyDeleteAnd the cream poinsettia is gorgeous, to be honest I prefer them to red and if I do buy one for the house at Christmas time that's my choice.
Sorry I'm a bit late calling by, still battling holiday laundry here :(

Sharon, loved your dragonflies. I like that border arrangement you have as the focal point, and great touch to add the extra dragonfly outside the border as you did. Always enjoy your area pictures, and that is one gorgeous cream poinsettia. TFS & hugs
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful and serene card, skillfully made. What a delight! Your cream poinsettias are delightful, God is so amazing with His creation! Thank you for sharing! And today is your 'blog birthday'...congratulations! Thank you for inspiring us with your calligraphy, art and especially God's Word. May you be blessed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sponging (or is brayering?) on your dragonfly card. Love the colours - they are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI have NEVER seen white Poinsettias before - wow - what a beautiful sight! Guess they are probably frost-sensitive so wouldn't grow down here (we are still having really cold nights too - very unseasonal). Hope you can share a photo of the red ones - I would love to see what it looks like grown in a garden instead of the potted ones I see in Safeway/Woolworths just before Christmas.
