Hullo there everyone..
Well, some folks take ages to make up things and then show them and this is the case here!!
On this post I wrote:
"On left is the scrunch up a tissue
method and dampen down with water spritzer apply the medium, re-spray
and put up to dry (unfortunately the picture does not do the shimmery
sheen of the mica's justice). If you want to see these methods check this post out here on clever Kate's great blog. I know the crumpled tissue looks very weird at present but think it will card up ok!"
First attached the sheet of tissue to light white card, then die cut them out carefully.
I used Labels Eight from Spellbinder as this left the most of the tissue to show. I cut an outline in black to highlight it. Unfortunately the amazing glimmer from the Micas does not photograph well.

I
accidentally gave away one of the two cards before I photographed it. :( The two cards had been sitting on my desk since I finished them, atop
my wee drawer set. So here is the one which is finished that I still have,
but it is earmarked for someone too :D
The stamped image is a SU set discontinued, trimmed to fit Fleur de Lis label eight die. Folder is one from CB Oriental set. as it is mostly snippets on this card popping over to the playground might just squeak in those gates in time.. and join up with Word Art Wednesday.

Many thanks every one of you for popping over for a peek and chat (you make my day) and may God bless your day wherever you may be!

ReplyDeleteMy list of ideas to try is getting longer not shorter! A lovely card and I like the green shades. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, I'm a bit late gettin' round, but finally made it, and had a lovely post to enjoy today. I will be checking out this scrunched tissue & mica method. It looks intriguing. Surely did make a beautiful card. That S/B is one of the best ones they've created IMHO. It is so versatile and really allowed your mica technique to sparkle. Thx for the links...I will check these out. Have a wonderful week. TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the cards made with tissue paper and napkins! There are so many awesome designs, but of course, it's really awesome to make your own! You have showcased your design beautifully, Shaz!! Have a great week! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteThat background is stunning! Really gorgeous card xx
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz, long time no speak, a great selection of cards you've made. Hope you're well, wish we had a bit of your Dry warm weather here, the whole country is sinking with all the rain we're getting. Dee x
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful technique. It is such a shame that our shimmers, glitters etc just do not photograph well. And that vellum and Pan Pastel card is so soft and gently. I really must get mine out, once I have finished the clear up. Thank you for showing the inside of that drawer, lots to nose at in there. I love your Calistemon flowers. I used to have one in a pot on the patio, grown from seed, but it finally succumbed to the weather a couple of years ago. Hope you have a good week. xx Maggie #3
ReplyDeleteWow - love this technique Shaz - looks gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteCan I ask a dumb question? I s mica the same as glitter? Beautiful card. Will have to try this method.
ReplyDeleteHullo Mehrll,
ReplyDeleteNo they are not like glitter.. but rather like cosmic shimmer, glimmermist sprays, and also Perfect Pearls. Hope that helps... Shaz.x
