Bugaboo Edward Elephant Present First Birthday card + WOYWW

Hullo everyone .. yes another mid week post.. and yes am pleased to report the card begun last week and chair recovering are are both finished yay!!!. Enough waffling, here to my desk, for it is WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday, over at world wide desk hostess Julia’s blog - here!
okay an exciting desk for me today for a number of reasons.. firstly have finished Husdon's card which I began back here on the 9.7.14. The lovely aqua butterfly card is from a very special crafter in USA. I met Marilyn on Christian Cardmakers a facebook group which you are most welcome to join. I show her card and Hudson's below. Also I have my very first Lili of the Valley 8 x 8 pad and oh am totally in love.. 8" x 8" is so much better than 6" x 6". Only have three of 6" x 6"  but would not bother getting them now  8" x 8" way to go! LOTV had a sale on them and their stamps so splurged and bought a stamp too the man in the beach chair. One good thing about selling cards means more stash (thanks Nat).. legitimately :D
Kindly sent as RAK from Marilyn On Christian Card Makers Face Book
Punch layered arches corners discontinued SU DP, Victorian squares dies, and SB Ovals petites coloured with primsacolours, EF Is CB Spots and Dots. With sponging around die edge done with Adirinodack Cloudy Blue. Bugaboo 3D "Edward Elephant Present" image for a first birthday card

Recovering chair shown last week.. some said last week the cushions could come off but these most definitely could not!! So used blunt nosed scissor and pushed and shoved the folded edge in and under the plastic between cushion and chair as shown.. talk about hard on arthritic hands but well worth it! Don't you think??
Last here are two photos from Oz - took these when was in courtyard garden taking card photos this the weed - it grows where it wants not where you want it necessarily.. it is Vinca and is growing in cracks in concrete. Right back plant is a cordyline.
this is a favourite bromeliad...
A special welcome to two new encouragers of this humble blog - to Cathy of the Playground and Cathy's Card spot - look at this lovely piece! and also to TillyTrotter..trying to hunt out her blog?.
Every blessing, thanks so very much for popping over for a peek and chat and may God bless your day wherever you may be!

  3. I was rubbish last week, missing out visits, so on a mission to visit everyone this week (well, everyone who links today, and visit, but not always comment :)) The point is so glad to see the chair. It looks fab. Cards too - so cheerful.

I have got to see about my desk chair - it could so use a face lift ... butt lift? whatever - it is boring and it's not like I don't have a ton of fabric kicking around.....

Another task to add to the to do list then....

    Happy WOYWW!

  4. Well, as weeds go, the Vinca is a beaut...I love her bright cheerful turn-up-where-I-can attitude!
Hudson's card is grand, worth the time spent for sure. As for the chair - isn't it an amazing difference, am so glad you feel it was worth the effort..just the thought of your poor hands makes me a bit goosy!

  9. Well done, Shaz. The chair looks great. Trust your hands recover!! Lovely finished card, and a beautiful gift. Hmm - vinca does tend to spread well given half a chance, doesn't it? I had some blue in the last garden - and here, some which is white. Not seen a pink one before.
Thanks for visiting and for your comments. I think I am probably certifiable offering to do all these things - but I can't bear to see people struggling or in trouble...
Take care my friend. God bless.

  11. You have done a beautiful job in recovering the chair. Bright, cheery colors! Love the card and all the layers that coordinate so well. I am not that far advanced yet. You do such beautiful cards! Glad you got the card I sent and appreciate all the kind words. Such pretty flowers but lots of weeds produce pretty flowers don't they. Hugs to you!

  12. Good Morning Shaz! The card you made for Hudson is perfect for a one year old boy! He is sure to love it. I sure do. :-) You did a great job with the chair recovering too. It's something that I've never thought to try myself so it looks very difficult to me.
I hope you're having a wonderful day. It's hot here in the Pacific Northwest. 103F yesterday with more of the same predicted over the next few days. Very unusual heat here this summer.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  16. Whoa! That recovered chair is awesome! My cat has tattered my chair to heck and back but I don't see me getting as ambitious as you when it comes to doing something about it. Lovely cards, both the one you made and the one you received. Loved the flower pictures too. Judy #76

  19. Well what can I say, everything on your page is fab. The card for Hudson is smashing, a lot of hardwork in there and the covered chair looks brand new, well done.
Your Vinca, may not be where you want it, but it is beautiful and the Bromeliad is just another example of God's brilliant creation,
Just to let you know I took your advice and mounted the stamped and coloured image on red and it looks great, on my WOYWW, thanks for the inspiration.

I have been admiring that card on some of your previous posts so it was fun to see it finished!

You did a wonderful job on your char! Who would have know that there would be room to shove the fabric into the frame that way. It looks great!!!

  28. Hi Shaz, we have a few plants over here that will only thrive where they want to grow, not where you want them to! Lovely cards, and the paper stacks too. Have a great week, Hugs, Shax #6 xxx

  29. Lots of really beautiful things on your blog this week. That chair is so gorgeous and I really admire you for tackling it. As usual, your photos are just so lovely, showing us some plants that we just cannot grown round here. Vinca, we can grow, but I have never seen any other colour than the original blue. That pink is just so vibrant. Thank you, Shaz for your lovely comments on my Ginkgo card. The home made ink pads are done with Cut and Dry Foam, which you cut to size and stamp your image on with Archival (permanent) ink and then paint with the Distress re-inkers. All the stencil work is done with the Adirondack or Distress in pads. Very addictive. Have a really good week. xx Maggie #32
