Christmas Cards Upcycle .. again!

{For Annie's Friday smiles - click here}

Okay some how or t'other the 25th of July has snuck up on me yet again!.. I ask you - just how does this happen!?? am quite sure it was the first, just a few days ago?? so 25th or in my case 26th means it is the time for Sarn's Christmas challenge, called Rudolph Day over at Stamping for Pleasure!

I do like to try and join cos it means two more cards made for the end of the year.. and they are slowly adding up..
As it happened my sister gave me this week some cards she had finished with - and among them were some  Christmas cards so thought yes! will upcycle these!! I really love this first one is is all sparkly and beautifully embossed too... unhappily not much of the sparkle shows on the baubles. I did not like the greeting. Each of my cards must reflect the rel reason for Christmas somewhere on the card .. if not in the image.. after all it is Christmas we are celebrating ... so re-cut the bottom. Used snippets of gold on this card as well.
 The next card was fiddly cut out.. and not sure would bother again as not 100% on it.. however is it is one more card made for the pile!
The greeting on it was a pass it on card received several years ago and been sitting on top of my drawers. Used more gold snippets and red mounting - simple cards as time was of essence.
 One more thing before I close, I have recently found out about a new method.. thought I would share as this is an easy Christmas card. I hope to make some of them!
"My quilted candle card, is from the Hanko Designs Holiday Pattern Kit. To see the paper quilting technique, go to this video by Hanko.
I chose to "pad" only the candle, and made the flame with gold textured paper pasted over cardstock and trimmed to shape. It was given a raised effect with 3-D tape underneath."

If you want to see some more paper quilting see Pinterest - my page.
Do pop over to Sarn's for more inspiration folks!! and thank you so very much for popping over for a peek ad chat - and may our wonderful heavenly Father God bless your day wherever you may be!

  15. Sharon, it took me a bit, but I finally had a chance to zip over & have time to enjoy your pretty cards. #1 looked like crosstitching when I first saw it. Enlarged, I could enjoy the dimension and the fabulous glitter on the ornaments. Really like your recycling on this fantastic card. #2 was equally lovely, as I'm partial to anything with holly (poinsettias, etc). Really liked the design element of adding that wonderful red & gold rectangle sentiment as you did. Loved the quilted candle card too. First I've seen this technique, and it's intriguing as well as so colorful. TFS & hope all is going well in Oz! Hugs
