WOYWW + Stamping on vellum

Well, this is going to be one licketty-split post today!!
As not much time for the craft room or the computer for that matter.. the garden beckons and will for another week or so until the roses are done. Took delivery this morning of the annual mulch and food for the three dozen roses out the back. It is winter here. They have been pruned, weeded dug over and sprayed with lime sulphur for black spot. Now wait all the bags of food and the wet newspaper and mulch on top to impede the growth of weeds and keep the water in  the soil. Costs a small bucket of money or two at this time every year. Now to my desk... for it is WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday, over at world wide desk hostess Julia’s blog - here!

Okay - card started on last weeks desk is in cellophane bag at back, with NOT any more done on it!! flat out since last Wednesday, out every day till yesterday, plus weeding garden. Had started another card .. an 18th birthday one (hence test run with die cuts with scrap card). I have stamped on vellum with music background stamp (with Versamark and ultra fine Ranger gold Embossing powder). I love the Victorine Original stamp bought on eBay .. beautiful etched and a delight to use! The colours requested were mauve, light green, or yellow and orange. Used the Riveria Kaleidocolor to brayer two pieces of gloss for the die cuts. The plan is to make it like this last  music card on this post here.
Finally sharing a card and atc received some weeks back but kept forgetting to share it .. aren't they lovely? both atc and card made by Robyn of Waterlily cards - thanks dear friend! :D
Now for the photos of Oz today.. am sharing some play with camera - first one is called Reflections and second one is Fragmented (think it kind of does your eyes in  this one). Last one is as the eye sees it.

We saw two whales breaching the water, about half way out to the skyline from waves breaking. They were having fun on their way up north to warmer waters. This view is from my sister's verandah.
Happy WOYWW everyone!
I will comment as able but time online needs be limited, I will do my best, may take me while to get back to you :D However I really want to thank you so very much for popping over for a peek and chat. May God bless your day wherever you maybe.

  1. Sounds as if you have your work cut out, but the results will be worth it I am sure, next summer. (still seems weird writing that from here in my part of the UK where we are roasting at present!) Great desk, though - love that Riveira pad, I'd forgotten about them... Helen 4

  4. Well, you don't see a much better view than that very often! It is one of my most cherished memories going whale watching out in Hervey Bay. We saw loads... I will never forget those majestic creatures leaping so high out of the water and the sound of the tails slapping the water. Magic......

PS if you want to enter the tote bag draw, I'm prepared to post any where in the world!

  6. Wow. You HAVE been having fun, Shaz. That music stamping looks great. Trust the card gets there in the end. You have been really enjoying plying with camera effects - done on the computer?? or the camera?? I rather like the shattered one - it's very effective.
Hope you get all the gardening done - all that work with the roses will certainly pay dividends. We always used newspaper and mulch, too, when we had an allotment. It works really well.
Take care. God bless you, my friend.

  7. What beautiful photos, Shaz, and I am intrigued by the stamping on vellum. After Julia's beautiful efforts last week with the alcohol inks, I think I must explore vellum further - I know I've got some somewhere but haven't used it much.

Many thanks for your visit and your lovely comment. Yes, my new church is great - the lion's share of the service is taken up with the preaching which is absolutely excellent, and we have wonderful worship, too. It's a lovely fellowship consisting of all ages and quite a lot of kids, which is encouraging. I still can hardly believe such a church is right on our doorstep!!!

Solar panels are taking off in a big way here in the UK. They are so advanced now that they work without the sun shining directly on them - just daylight will do it, but direct sun is best. So far we are more than satisfied with the result.

    Happy WOYWW,

  9. Morning or Afternoon or whatever time it is down under when you read this.
I can't wait to see a picture of the roses next summer when they show how they have appreciated all your love and attention.
That card on your desk looks as if it will be beautiful when it is finished, as are all your cards.
    Bless you

  10. Thanks for popping over to see me Shaz. I fully understand about the gardening as we are doing a bit of alterations to an area where a large tree was removed.
It all takes time but it has to be done.
Have a great week and Happy crafting, when you get the chance,

  11. Funny -= I dragged out a ton of coloured vellum I have had for more than 10 years - bought it for scrapping then used just little bits of it ever (except the light pink - I have none of that anywhere LOL!) and used it just recently now both you and Julia have been using vellum as well. Funny how it comes and goes in cycles....

Yes, that one photo does my eyes in as well - like the telescopic vortex I posted a couple of weeks back. Give me a headache!

    Happy WOYWW!

  27. Hi Shaz,
My few roses get no TLC at all :(
I love my camellias which totally look after themselves though :)
And yes, I absolutely must have something "to do" when away for a whole week, even though I intend to get as much skiing as possible in! And I have a (very good) new phone so am hoping for some better photos than usual, because it is rather difficult to carry a phone and a camera when skiing, so, yes, look out for snow photos soon :)
    Thanks for dropping by too,
