**Darkness:
"“When the sixth hour came, darkness fell over the
whole land until the ninth hour” (Mark 15:33)
** Rent in two!
At ninth hour (or 3pm) "He gave up the ghost,...
.... behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; " Matthew 27:51
Temple curtain - entrance into Holy of Holies, no longer separated, but way is opened through Christ's sacrifice.
This curtain was a foot or 30cm thick, torn from top to bottom.

city, and appeared unto many.

Finding only an empty tomb, Peter & John looked in, saw evidence of a
resurrected Saviour:
The linen wrappings and face-cloth from Jesus’ body were lying there by themselves.
(Luke 24:1–12; John 20:1–9)
** Resurrection and Resurrected Saints
the Resurrection of the LORD Jesus was the cause of resurrection of saints.
The resurrected saints did not walk in Jerusalem until Sunday. To
remain ceremonially clean for coming Sabbath, the Jews could not greet their departed
loved ones. The linen wrappings and face-cloth from Jesus’ body were lying there by themselves.
(Luke 24:1–12; John 20:1–9)
** Resurrection and Resurrected Saints
the Resurrection of the LORD Jesus was the cause of resurrection of saints.
What a monumental Miracle!.
It showed the power over sin and death was defeated by the death and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus - He was indeed the Son of God and He defeated Satan's power.
He IS the Resurrection and the LIFE!
The miracles connected with the cross provide evidence that the One crucified was God's dear Son. They give indisputable proof.
Whoever believes ... the New Testament writings, has to be convinced by
there is no other way!
May the LORD richly bless you all this Resurrection day!
.. as we remember our LORD Jesus' great gift and sacrifice for us all... how He loves us!

You may or may not know - but Easter is held at the same time as the Jewish Passover Feast, as that was when Jesus was crucified. The Passover is usually held the closest first full moon, on nearest Saturday after the spring equinox, (21st of March, each year). (Jewish calendar, and way of telling time is different to ours.)
As it turns out last night, Sat 31st, was a full moon and blue moon, so the Jewish Passover was held yesterday, and so these are two shots taken last night by Greg in Oz, one of our photography family members.

Beautiful cards Shaz - I love the way you take the corners from the square - they are so effective in framing your scene.
ReplyDeleteAs part of our Easter celebrations this year our church participated in an (adapted) Seder meal on Good Friday (which was the start of Passover) and it was wonderful to hear all the Messianic prophecies that are included in the ritual.
Blessings
Maxine

Sorry I’ve been absent for a while, mojo lost and a week of holiday in the sun with my mum, then lots of tv time during Easter. In Norway it’s tradition that the channels are showing lots of crime series with several episodes, so I did some of that too, and reading.
ReplyDeleteYour thank you cards are lovely. You’re great at making your own papers with inks and brushos.
Beautiful cards Shaz, particularly drawn to the first being my favourite colours and all. So delicate and sweet. Fabulous photos of the full moon too. Take care my friend hugs Aileen
