Yes, it’s here again.. desk day!! It’s WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday... please head over to Julia’s HERE for desks of the world!
My desk as left last night. There are a few things going on here! On left brushos not put away as want to use again. Middle is a Sympathy Card in make, scene was brusho, tried one thing - didn’t work, so tried another idea or three!
I don’t give up easily and finally happy with end result.. or think I will be. It’s funny 😂 it’s only a biscuit card background, but really fight to make it something I’m happy with! Two spray bottles at back used and on right are more brusho backgrounds with texture paste on them. TH Mosaic stencil which is lovely - but an annoying tag width (am I only one who dislikes this?). Thus I’ve added extra on side and really not noticeable, except at this angle. The one on far right has glitter on it as well, not sure what they’ll turn into, but do need a “Praying for You” Card. Very extreme right, almost out of sight are completed cards. Rest are usual suspects.
Cards completed, yes! two more Christmas now up to 43, but aiming for 80 or minimum of 70, want to gift some. These were begun on last weeks desks with brusho backgrounds, saw Kate's great offtering on Rudolph challenge (here). This is my take on it thus far, made two but number of more planned with other dies. So used Di of Snippets Playground die of nativityscape by Sugar Pea. Really, really love it. Dies are great for using Snippets and as brusho coloured backgrounds are inside of cereal, frozen food, biscuit packets on white side it’s one cheap card! Base only new purchase, premade 5 x7”. "Silent Night" is a CCD.

Aussie views are mixed locations. Two from Grampian range on west Victoria.
Stunning escarpment, first one is What’s app from family there. Two slackliners in high winds, too! acc. to family, near Mt Kenya; lots of climbers, as it’s one of Aust top rock climbing locations.
Second one is Brooks Lookout also in Grampians National Park.
These are Ballarat’s Botanic Gardens, plantings began in 1860, early for Aust, after beginning of 1850’s gold rush. The two stunning sea views are not here but FOUR hours, flying time, west of here on east coast, family on south west coast of WA stunning coastline!
Apologies for being bad blogger last week, very full on, and wheels fell off! God willing, will do all this week!
Well, that’s me for today.
Lord bless and keep you all safe, in all your ways,
Prayer hugs,

UPDATE re drought and fires:
All fires under control, but not out, two lives lost in fires three hours north, and incredibly sadly 64 homes.
I’m very grateful yest found out my friend in middle of fires okay, house safe, but lost stock, grasslands, fences, outbuildings. Sad for them, but but not as sad as some, for video details on this here.
Fires still at watch and act level, with high winds, & low humidity, both negative factors.
Praise God - some good rain in SE Qld and some in northern NSW. The farm I showed last week which experienced a dust storm had 4mm, 1/8 of inch. Much, much, more needed so I’m praying and fasting on, till drought breaks I think, it was for month of Oct, called by interdenominational church group. I may do as long as required. Think it’s my responsibility as a Christian.
Thought for the Day:
Came across this verse in Isaiah during week, it's one of God's promises to those who love Him.
I love that God promises:
1. Safety
2. Bread and most of all "sure waters".
Claiming that, and praying much for those who are struggling, that in midst of it they will seek the help of the Father Who is only ever a prayer away.

Love the glimpses of projects on your desk Annie, and the finished Christmas cards are stunning!
ReplyDeleteYour Aussie photos are amazing - what an incredible country you live in.
May God strengthen you as you fast and pray for your nation.
Blessings

Stunning photos once again. Sad to think our summer weather has only just began. I think it will be a long hot and dangerous summer for us in OZ. Have a lovely week.

I'm the same with backgrounds Shaz, they just have to be right. They turned out great. You will soon complete your goal number for sure. Beautiful pictures although the one on the rocks made me a little giddy.. i'm not very good with heights. Good to hear the fires are under control and that your friend is safe. We have much to be grateful for.
ReplyDeleteHappy WoywW Hugs Tracey #6 Take good care of yourself xx
Your cards are gorgeous such rich and vibrant backgrounds. I love Brushos but get them everywhere so don't use them very often - they are a bit like glitter I find! Lovely photos of some stunning places and good news that the fires are under control - but devastating what they left behind.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week,
Hugs, Diana xx #17
Lots going on in your world! Thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteGlenda #15
Thanks for sharing all the great photos. Wishing I had the time and money to travel. So many beautiful places in our world. Amazing cards and working ahead saves the rush. I just can't seem to keep up daily, I have to start saying NO. Have a great week
ReplyDeleteGosh you sound so busy, just loving those brusho bg! The photos are spectacular, what beautiful country. Happy WOYWW Cindy #18 (oh, and my wheels fall off most weeks LOL)
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz. Lovely Christmas cards - well done. Difficult times for your land at the moment, Shaz. Trusting Father God will hear from heaven for you all. Such lovely shots of your land today, too - complete contrast to a land currently in such drought conditions.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love the colors and the beautiful nativity scene. Maybe the width is because TH does a lot of tags, so they thought it would be easier - but didn't think about all the cardmakers! Regardless, this is STUNNING!
ReplyDeletegreat pics as always, Shaz. glad there has been a little rain (we've had enough to spare, would love to be able to send it over) Helen #1
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased that some rain has fallen but it sounds like much much more is needed - poor people and wildlife having to withstand a drought like that. It is a country of extremes, as seen in the photos you share. Your cards are great btw and I do love the bright colours of the Brushos!

What gorgeous cards! Love the backgrounds!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos as usual! I enjoy seeing scenes of places I'll never get the opportunity to visit.
Glad the fires are under control. So sad that many have lost so much. Great scripture!
Have a fab week!

Busy desk...FAB cards! Love the silent night script! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz, busy as ever. Loving the cards and the gorgeous pics too. Thanks for the lovely comments over at mine. Hope you've had a very happy woyww, Angela x11x
ReplyDeleteOnce again you have made some beautiful cards my dear Shaz. I also think your Aussie photos are gorgeous. I'm so glad to know that the fires are not as bad as they once were. I know it is devastating for all who are affected by them and the poor families who have experienced a loss of a loved one. I am continuing to pray.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Fabulous Brusho. cards and love the view over the mountains. You are right it is our duty to pray for those in need, So many terrible situations going on in our world.
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy, i find life is like that some times nother and other you do not know which way to turn, lol love the two cards with brusho backgrounds stunning pictures

HI Shaz, yep I have that same thing with the tag width of his patterns of stencils it makes it harder when you want to cover wide surface and so I end up making pieces of things from when I play with his. Holy moly that sky walking thing totally makes my heart beat faster and I don't even know those people haha.
ReplyDeleteThey have finally called fireseason off here and are now doing prescribed burns trying to get rid of some of the fuels before next season, hopefully they get your fires out soon too. ~Stacy #24
Wonderful cards Shaz and am delighted to see you using the Nativityscape die! Your backgrounds really are fabulous as well.

Fabulous cards and great upcycling of the foods cardboard! Well done!
ReplyDeleteHello Shaz. Lovely cards and views! I like using brushes, must play with them again. When we travelled in Aus we travelled through The Grampians. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned mum. She came back to live near me. Had a very bad fall. After operation to repair broken hip she needed rehab. They would not let her have it by me. She still had property down south and had to return. It's a long, long story but ' things ' were engineered to get her back down there, and make sure she stayed. My sister and family mainly visit- they are closely. Sadly she has a lot of family up near me and I think greatest variety would have been better for her. Sadly now out of my hands.
Sorry re late reply. Emergency call out to elderly Auntie last night ( mum's sister - she is 94 years old)

My uncle Alan lived in Ballarat, when he was alive he used to always send me a calendar with photographs of Ballarat on at Christmas time. He was a lovely man, a devout Christian. Thanks for the photographs of all the different places.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry that two people lost their lives in the fires, do hope that rain comes quickly and saturates the ground. We saw the devastation of the fire in LA one time and I can imagine how terrible it is for those poor people who lose their homes. Prayers for them and the poor firefighters and emergency services.
Now to better things - love the Brusho backgrounds you achieved for your cards - they are stunning with the black silhouettes against them. You certainly know how to use your Brushos to achieve the best results.
Love your desk, the stencil has come out great with its circles but not sure what you mean about it being only a tag width as it looks like a complete A4 stencil to me.
Have a lovely week and take are my friend
God Bless, Neet 3 xx
Gorgeous results for your background!!
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear that the fire situation is getting better, hope the fires are all out soon.
It might just be you AND ME SHaz, the tag width stencils make me wanna scream because I only remember too late! Your brusho cards are glorious, love that nativity, so simple and telling. You’re doing really well with your christmas card numbers. It makes me panic, to be honest! Lovely all round Australia views, my word those Grampian are beautiful. I’ve been to WA and it is quite quite glorious, but I think my heart belongs to the East coast. Mum and Da were sydneysiders for a handful of years. Happy days!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards Shaz.. You have so much going on on your desk I wonder how you find anything..Beautiful aussie photos..loz
ReplyDeleteI love this beautiful card. The scenery is so amazing.
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards, Shaz. Yes, the TH Layering stencil width bothers me from time to time as well, but then all the stencils I have are never perfect for what I am needing to do, lol. Gorgeous scenery pics. Please be careful with the fasting, Shaz. Prayers yes and I will help. Your body needs nutrients to heal, I pray you do it wisely with your health in mind! God speed to those in need to have lots of rain! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, atmospheric Christmas card and I love how you used your recycled card! Such a beautiful background.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us at ABC Christmas Challenges, and I hope you will join us again soon.

I first want to apologize for taking so long to comment. I have been on holidays and I love looking at everyone's entries so I told the design team that I would respond to my quota of entries once I returned. Very pretty colours.
