‘Tis Wednesday, everyone! so off to WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday, pop over here to Julia’s do.. we’d love to see You! Have some good news but will share at end. Desk 1: this morning.
Making a bright get well card, for an octogenarian having knee replacement! I made the base on this post here - was White heat embossed Hero Arts Dandelion background Stamp, Ink Resist done with Distress inks. Her fav. colour is anything really bright, thought this one worked well! Impression Obsession “Get Well Soon” die, a sample test run on middle, layering done with SU colours, have few sheets were perfect colour, plus two spools of ribbon suited too, was really blessed! Image at rear made few weeks ago is ready for next card.
Second desk working still on the Lawn Fawn Puffin anniversary card, on right are two trial runs with Stampscapes background stamps. On left assembling on actual heart base, the white dish held tiny weeny fish + hearts coloured + cut out, tad fiddly but can never justify expense of dies! Front black cardstock snippet, figuring greeting strips.
Loved this card, here’s end result. Stampscapes background. All other cards with this set had icebergs and such but puffins live on cliff tops not icebergs hence my background, researched scenery first. Happy anniversary from Sweet ‘n Sassy Floral greeting set.
Stitched heart dies for image base, at bottom of card - triple scoring with more hearts around greeting. Loads of snippets here, so off to Snippets Playground.. wonder if it's puddle jumping there too?!
This is scrap card from iceblock packet, embossed TH Dot Matrix EF set, used Versamark and Perfect pearls or Magicals by Lindy's Stamp Gang, Dairy Milk chocolate.😋
Male card for friend's dad birthday next month. He’s same age as my dad would’ve been. The stamp set is CCS, and was ink block background, which was bit messy. So die cut with wonky rectangle set, and coloured it with Tombow watercolour pens to cover messy bits, restamped images and spritzed with glimmer mist, finally happy!
This card is of PB poppy Gold EP stsmp, on brusho background with gloss card, painted with shimmer watercolours.
Last card is a direct case of THIS last year, love Ranger Rock Candy background added to white card for loads of crackly glimmer, what a great verse, Rest in the Lord, AND WAIT patiently for Him Ps 37. That's the hard bit.
It’s for dear friend who’s 70, and she loves purple, shimmery and butterflies.
Now to Aussie shots, two of our beach and Sandhills, this How I remember it as kid here, love seeing it. ❤
Pretty flowers with native grasses up along banks.

Now to good news... we have had such HUGE answers to prayer folks!
I’m sure you’ve heard but here’s summary from local point of view.
I’m sure you’ve heard but here’s summary from local point of view.
Nearly all big fires out in NSW with big rains, except down very far South Coast, and Snowies Mtns praying they will soon! The peat fire at Yamba and Port Macquarie OUT, both needed fresh water (ie rain), burning for months, much to give praise for!!
Today, in NSW only 24 fires, almost all controlled. Map shows diff number because white are other incidents, trees down, vehicle fire, etc, blue are fires. At one stage for about a month were 160 fires in just NSW.
In first week Nov there were (map above) 16 emergency fires at once in our NSW north coast!! We were surrounded by them. [16 x Emergency = too late to leave, protect yourself, family, etc. in situ. Lots of prayer that night, had car packed. Will never forget it.]
Huge fire north of Syd. Wollemi Nat park fire (over 1,000,000 hectares, from memory), was deliberately lit Nov 2019, NOW out along with ALL fires in Blue Mountains. Also in Blue Mtns Jenolan Caves house saved from fires last month, had a flood yest.
Just like drought 1911 it was saved from fire, then flooded 24th Feb 1911.
History repeats - was manager's comment!
Praise for drought + fire relief.
Many inland have had some good rain BUT also many areas missed out so praying on for them!
*****
May God bless mightily in physical rain in those places, but also spiritually in many hearts!

Still not well in myself, BUT had clean bill at skin Dr, today, Yay!
In hard times though, God teaches so much more than in smooth, easy times, that you’re grateful for them ..almost!!
Such a blessing to know and trust in our dear Almighty Father.
Thanks so much for popping over for peek and chat!
l do so very much appreciate you, haven’t quite caught up with all, hope to! 😊

This rain has made many glad, and this verse expresses it well.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! I'm so happy to know that your dear Oz has had rain. I have been praying daily for rain. I've been told I should stop as it's now flooding in some places?! God is SO good!
ReplyDeleteAs always, I love all of your cards but that last purple one is gorgeous. My favorite colors too.
I'm so glad to hear that the Lord has given you a good report on your skin. I'm praying for your health too, that you will soon be well and lifted up in the Lord. You are on my heart often my dear sister. I so hope we can meet someday.
Blessings always,
Betsy
I'm doing a whistle stop tour of all my favourite desks before I make my next Memory bear [and this one is for a very special little girl to take to her new adoptive home...what lovely jobs eh?].
ReplyDeleteReally love your cards this week and am soooo thrilled to hear the good news.
Hugs,
Annie x #13
Hi Shaz, your link goes to the wrong blog :) Great selection of cards, all gorgeous. Love the purple used in the 70th card, it's gorgeous. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #1 X
ReplyDeleteWe are all so glad to see on the news and read that the rains have come Shaz but the sadness of all that is lost will be something that we just can not forget. Beautiful makes in the meantime, you make such stunning cards Shaz.
ReplyDeleteYou take good care of yourself.. sending get well hugs your way & thanks for sharing WoywW Tracey #10 xx
That stud puffin card is genius!! I might have to steal that idea for G's Valentine card, lol! I also like the Get well card, such bright cheery colours will help the patient's recovery, I'm sure. So glad to hear the news about the rains putting out the bushfires, everyone has been so upset about it.

All your cards are just lovely. I didn’t think that puffins lived in the snow, but they probably would look cute there too. I love your scene in the heart.
ReplyDeleteWonderful makes Shaz - I love them all, as always. And adore your dear little puffins Snippets card. Too cute :) Huge thanks for your lovely comment - our wee boy is a lot better than he was - but he's sticking to one or other of us like glue still. He had a really good 'zoomies' session around the lounge last night before bed and for the first time for five flipping days the joy was in his eyes again. TLC and we'll get him over this I hope. It's almost broken our hearts to think we were so trusting. What people say and what they do when your back is turned can be so very different.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Di - and a wee woof from Dudley xx
A bright coloured card is always going to make you feel better for sure. Lovely card collection too. I hope there is even more rain to come though you probably wouldn't want it like some areas in the UK where they have been flooded again, it's so sad. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x16x
ReplyDeletePraising God with you for the rain! YAY GOD!
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards! Really like the Puffins and boy, the fish are itty bitty!
Hope you have a wonderful and blessed week!

ReplyDeleteSo pleased the rains have come and doused most of the fires. Your cards are as always, beautiful I love white embossing though not done any for ages . Have a great week. Helen #2
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for the rain! :D Prayers for rain in the the other zones, too!
ReplyDeleteAmazing card for the old lady, surely she will LOVE it! Hope it will put smile on her face.
All the cards you made are very different and fabulous! Love especially the puffins one, such adorable look!!
Hugs
Hi Shaz, as always all your cards are lovely, but my favourites are the get well card and the puffins - they are super cute! I've been away from WOYWW for a couple of months, but I was praying you were safe and well. That's very welcome news that the rains have put out so many of the fires, I hope the other areas get relief soon. Have a lovely week, hugs Heather xx #33
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz, your cards re lovely, my favourite is the puffin one, love how you have done the heart. So pleased that there has been enough rain to put the fires out. It is surprising how quickly nature recovers, but rebuilding homes will take much longer. Have a great week, Angela #27
ReplyDeleteFantastic news about the fires Shaz. Hopefully the rain keeps and the farmers receive a lot.. Beautiful selection of cards you have made..loz
ReplyDeleteThe get well card is just beautiful with it's lovely color combo.
ReplyDeletethose puffins are just adorable!
The 70 card has such a feel of elegance!
So glad to hear the report on your fire situation, I haven't heard much about it on the news here lately, so good to hear that things are coming along and pray they will all be out soon!
Hello Shaz, beautiful cards ... always amazed at how many ideas you can come up with and always be original. Thank God the fires are almost all out and now we just have to deal with the deluge. But, that is good and so needed. Stay safe and dray. :)
ReplyDeleteSandra de #7
Wow Shaz what amazing cards, especially the purple and silver one! Loving the puffins too :)
ReplyDeleteGreat news about the rains - our skies are clearing now as well. We are still in drought where I am, and we have 'crunchy' grass in the lawns, and a full fire ban!
Blessings
Maxine
Your cards are fabulous. I love the puffins - how cute are they! And the red poppy is just stunning. I'm sure your friend will love the beautiful, vibrant card you've done, those colours are bound to make anyone feel brighter.
ReplyDeleteHope you have good week,
Diana x #20
Love your card selection this week Shaz, especially those cute puffins. So thankful that the rain is finally helping with the fires and praying for it where needed elsewhere too. Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #8
ReplyDeleteWhat a super post Shaz, beautiful artwork and lovely photos of your part of the World, the fires have been dreadful and I think our news tells us only part of the awful story. Apols I've not been by in a while, had a couple of eye ops to try and preserve my sight a little longer and screen rest was essential.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for joining in with our 'Animals, Birds and Butterflies' theme at Penny Black and More challenge.

I have to start with the big news, am so relieved and overjoyed. Now to heal. I’m not surprised you won’t forget the feeling of being car-packed-surrounded, it must have been awful, I was fearful for you and I live a world away from the experience. Little happy jig today then! I love the cards missus, the puffins made me really smile, and I’m amused that you researched the background....how like you to get it it spot on! I took a lad from your desk and have used gold embossing for a collage card featuring a big peony, it worked well, thank you! It’s the get well card that has me scrolling back for more though Shaz dear gal, it’s perfect. It’s my favourite colour too...bright, and I love the dandelion resists. How could you friend not be cheered!
ReplyDeleteAll your cards are beautiful, I cannot choose a favourite! Bravo! We remain in prayer for Australia, for continued rain in areas of need, for restoration of the land and people's hearts towards God and for your health. God is merciful and compassionate.
ReplyDeleteThe puffin couple is very sweet and i love the texture on the masculine card! Thank you so much for playing along with the Penny Black and More challenge.
ReplyDeleteLinda
What a fabulous collection of cards, the PB entry has a super image with a great backgrounded loe the use of the ice block packet, great design too.
ReplyDeleteMy Daughter lives and works in Sydney but they have a house near Brisbane, Mooloolaba or something like that, they have bought for when they retire, she has assured me that it was no where near their house but it could have soon been by the look on this map, although I know Australia is a large county and while looks pretty close to me it may be many miles away.
Thank you for joining our 'Animals, Birds or Butterflies' challenge at Penny Black and More.

As I wrote before, God Is Good. I really love how you recycled the background on that pretty duck card, and of course the purple card caught my eye as that is my fave color. xoxo
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty pretty cards - each and all! Love the puffins - it's one of my favorite lawn fawn sets! I love the heart that you have created and hope that it brightens the happiness of the recipient. Congratulations on your win at Pixie's! xx
