NBUS Snippets Stencil with Glitter paste + Distress Oxides + WOYWW

Hi there everyone, yes .. tis  Wednesday! Popping over to deskland at Julia’s Stamping Ground! Check out the friendly, creative, “germ-free” 😁 bunch of WOYWWers over at Julia’s blog with “What is on Your Workdesk Wednesday.
My desk yesterday, & today really! Little like last week’s except different colours DI Oxides! for someone special who likes these colours, my niece in Whistler, Canada. It’s already winging its way to her, probably be late as mail for there from Oz is soooo slow! It is along way though, nearly as far as flying to UK.
The ruler on right back part of glass mat was used to make sure circle mask was in middle of card. One layer card needs accuracy, TH spritzer of water was to damp Darkroom Door small mesh stencil, glue stick, etc always seem to be there, ie WOYWW sign and the lovely lighthouse cord pull from Crop 2018 chez Margaret of Glitter and glue. The stamp is on left, about to be used!
To finished DI Oxides card.
For all details on the card please check out last week’s post below or Here. Used Floral Woodware Silhouette stamp, in Black Versafine and Clear EP, greeting is from Sweet ‘n Sassy Floral greetings.
Close up can see oxidised part of mesh stencil.. and perhaps some of gloss from embossed black stamping. Now my NBUS Snippets card!
It was a curious creation, I often start a card with the having no clear direction! Then others like the first one I have a clear idea. The NBUS items are the Glitter paste and the stencil (Couture Creations Anna Griffin Stencil 8x8 Secret Garden from Scrapdragon in Oz) it is a newly found one, you could say it’s my great COVID-19 purchase of $4.99! I have also bought 100 of   5” x 7” 300g scored cards and envelopes, which arrived today, am looking ahead to Christmas cards!
Predict you may see some used next week?
Recipe of NBUS Snippets card- took DP in crimson for set I was sent by dear Elizabeth when I won her 100 follower's blogaversary prize, we started in same year in 2010 (thanks Elizabeth!).
All DP and stunning beads lace is from from her set, been stroking them lovingly for 9 years!!! Well, they are snippet so off to playground too - YAY!
The sheen of the Glitter paste was tricky to work out what to use! In end it was the champagne glitter card, a perfect match bought with Margaret in Sept 2018. The verse which is from a favourite Psalm is very good verse stamp from “Sweet ‘n Sassy - Wait on the LORD” set. Embossed in WOW Pale Gold EP.
Sharing how I did this inner outer scallop effect in two tones.
Cut two scalloped circles the same size, then divide one you want on bottom, roughly into 4 segments, and cut. Then insert it in scallops, as shown on first greeting image. It's a bit fiddly, but worth it, need glue to have move time to twist each section into place! Can do with ovals too.
The Aussie sea views were on two different days, from two different ends of the many beaches in town.
The southern Jetty beach is the most popular and safe beach, not very often rips there but have encountered a few. The blue mat down into the water is for a specially built beach wheel chair buggy to take disabled folks into water to enjoy.
Neet asked last week if they are crowded??
As you can see they are not crowded at all. Often when I walk on our beach near home I’m the only one.
The second beach is at northern end of town, looking out to sea you can scroll in, and see a black dot (surfboard rider) catching a wave at left end in middle.
This is a board rider's beach and very dangerous unless really strong swimmer. I’ve never swum here. Looking north and then south to Jetty.
COVID-19 update- our rates have slowed right down, (thank the Lord) in Oz. Our town's rate last week was 13, today is 14 infections. Stabilised in towns north and south, too, we have plateaued on infection level, deaths too.. gone from 48 to 63, not doubled as before. Good to know it can be done! They’re talking of loosening a very little, the strict controls..  but talk will wait a while, I suspect. Very grateful.
Am really, REALLY praying for UK, USA, but also all the very poor nations, especially for all who are sick and grieving families everywhere.
May all seek the God of all comfort, Who never leaves nor forsakes those who love Him.
Thanks for popping over especially if you take time to say hi.
Prayer hugs, 🙏🤗
Shaz in Oz. X

Thought for today:
From Psalm 37 on my NBUS Snippet Card, the verses are very appropriate for us today...
**Commit the way to the LORD!
**Rest in the LORD!
** Wait patiently for Him
** Trust in the LORD!
** Fret not thyself in any wise to do evil!
 Psalm 37

  1. Love the colours of the circle Shaz, my favourite colour combo I must admit - and with the black stamped image on top it looks very striking indeed. Canada will enjoy it!
Same with the other card and what a lovely edge to that scallop you have created. It takes me back to those nail pictures we used to do and then we did them with stitching coloured cotton on cards to make patterns. Not seen it done the way you have though - lovely.
Good to see your beaches are pretty empty and good to hear that your cases are slowly dropping - wish I could say it for where I live. We are still going up and this morning there were 36 new cases overnight. For some reason our town is so much higher now than at the beginning when it was keeping low numbers. Worrying so am thankful we are having to be isolated.
Lovely seaside photos - thanks, they keep me going.
    Blessings,
    Neet 2 xx

  2. What lovely cards again Shaz. The tip about matting and layering with the scallop die is really useful and looks fab from the front. I'm so glad things are calming down in Oz and that you can walk safely on the beach. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #7

  3. Hi Shaz, loving the cards. especially like the silhouette one, reminding me to dig out that stamp and use it! Lovely scenic pictures as always. Good to hear things are slowing down there. Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #8 X

  4. I think that first card is gorgeous! I love the colours in the circle and the black silhouette, it just works. You could use that for so many things as well, a real go-to design. Gorgeous pics of the countryside as well, though we've had skies that colour for about a month now as well and want temps - it;s made the lockdown a bit easier that's for sure.

  6. I love how you're using the circles and the blending is perfect. The photographs are lovely too. It's good to hear that things are getting better where you are but I fear that if they loosen the controls too soon it will kick off and maybe get worse so I hope they don't make a big mistake. Here in Lincoln most people seem to be sensible but in the large cities they have been silly at times filling the parks and having street parties, just crazy. Take care and have a crafty woyww, Angela x17x

  7. Your cards are stunning. I found my stamp like this one but haven't done anything with it yet.
the beach photos are gorgeous - how lovely to be able to walk to the beach .

  8. Good Morning dear Shaz. Your cards are lovely as always. You put so much time, effort and talent into each one. I really don't understand the technical aspects but can appreciate the beauty in each one. I especially like the second one. Love the verse and the color too.
Our numbers keep rising but so far not at a drastic rate. We have almost 300 cases in our county and it's affected 13 people in the local Veteran's Home which is really sad. A lady from our church works there and is directly caring for 6 of the positive tested people.
I'm so glad you can walk on the beach for exercise. Our different governors have come up with different rules for each state. Some are ridiculous, like not allowing people to buy seeds or plants for their gardens. Most are the normal social distancing rules.
Take care and I'm praying that you stay well my dear sister.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  9. Hi Shaz. What a lovely card. Well done. The scallops are, as you say, a bit fiddly. I don't think I would have the patience - but could always try... We await developments! Glorious Aussie shots - beautiful sunny days. We are now sunny - but not warm. Nights are really cold still. I think the bluetits in my garden nested too early. I suspect one of them didn't survive the nights.
Glad things are looking better in Australia.
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

  13. Really love that firsy card Shaz and I'm sure I have that stamp somewhere! May have to CASE that idea for a class when we get back to normal!!The beach photos are stunning (dangerous or not!) and look so peaceful. So good to hear you might be on your way to the end of this awful situation - we are a way off yet I fear. Stay safe, stay well, Happy WOYWW Cindy #12

  14. Your 1 layer card is gorgeous! The colors blended so nicely and love the hint of the mesh stencil. And love your NBUS card, too!! Cool how you split the scallop circle to frame the other!
I love your beach scenes. What beautiful places to walk.
Hope you have a wonderful week!

  15. Loving both cards but, then I always do. Your attention to detail is always amazing. It is good to hear we have been able to slow the spread of Covid 19 down in our little part of the world. This has allowed for the health service to train staff and prepare. Perfect verses in this time. Take care of yourself and enjoy the beaches and sunshine.

  17. Thanks for sharing your great photos. I love the cards your have created. And I really enjoyed the water/beache areas. I grew up around water and I truly miss it. We are ending up with winter 23 here to day and hopefully by the weekend our snow will melt. I really need Warmth/Sunshine just to make my body feel good. Enjoy a great week. Stay Safe.

  20. I have commented on the first card, last week. The second one this week is absolutely amazing - thank you for sharing how you cut the scalloped circle to get the layered look.
The beaches look beautiful Shaz - you are so blessed to be living by the sea. Great to know your Covid-19 numbers are coming down - our numbers are stabilizing/slowing too. If we need another week or two in lock down, so be it, rather than getting the massive, rampant numbers from lifting it too soon.
    Stay safe
    Blessings

  21. Gorgeous cards Shaz, the black foliage against the vivid circle is just stunning, and that is such a pretty stencil you used on the purple card. Lovely photos too - it must feel so uplifing getting out and walking along such a beautiful beach.
Hope you have a good week and stay safe and well,

  22. Beautiful cards as always Shaz! I LOVE your beach scenes, we are really missing not being able to go to the seaside... Covid 19 numbers in France are still not good, in our area we have a steady increase of cases, on average 54/week; 17,167 people have sadly died, nearly 32,000 people are in hospital. It is all so very sad. We are still following restrictive measures until the next review date of 11th May.

So glad to hear that you guys are doing better with the covid, our county is still getting more cases and more deaths, but not as bad as they are doing in Chicago north of us.

  25. I love the circle stencil idea with the silhouette stamps, Shaz - I'm thinking of doing something similar with some of my drawings. The damp stencil pressed onto the circle is an inspired idea, to give a lovely subtle texture. Lovely photos as always!

Keep safe and well, and God bless,
    Happy belated WOYWW,

  26. Thank you for your lovely comments, Shaz, and I am so sorry about the problems you've had commenting on my blog. I hope you've received my email by now. I must keep on top of that dreaded spam folder - I have no idea why my blog should do this to my friends!! It is over-zealous, to say the least! Anyway, thank you, and thank you for your patience too. I am so glad you enjoyed my colourings, and the rest of my post too. I have just watched this morning's service from our church on Youtube (actually it was done from his home, and most beautifully, too) and am so grateful for the contact we have between us all. He preached on the reading from John's Gospel about Thomas not being there when Jesus appeared, and he described the scene in the upper room as being a lockdown - they were isolated in their fear! I felt a real connection. Despite the locked doors and the isolation, Jesus was able to step straight into their midst!

May the Lord bless you this Easter season, and keep you safe and well.
    Happy belated WOYWW,

  27. I love living in Oslo, but to me it sounds amazing to live nearby beaches like yours, must be wonderful for walks.
I love the concept of your first card and I might want to borrow this concept for a future card. A great way to incorporate color with a silhouette image.
