Stencilled Stamped Challenges - Friday Smiles, Twofer, NBUS, Butterflies, Snippets Playground,

Hi there everyone! Sooo sorry I’ve been soo silent, but was rather unwell in February, then busy catching up and had a visitor last week. Talk about God’s perfect timing, I was well and the weather was wonderful.😃 A total contrast this week.. more of that anon! I’m  popping into share my Two-fer!

Don’t die of shock but I’m joining in with Darnell’s Two-fer challenge as well as her NBUS, AND Mrs A.'s butterfly challenge this really must be a record for me, I’m so bad at challenges.😆 These are my Two-fers! I will share below. Firstly my desk!

I’m starting the Two-fer on the left, this is a male “Get Well card”, for my nephew. He smashed his kneecap in eight places! Ouch! All wired up, a bad crash - so thought he might need a “Cheer me up!”. I’ve actually painted the background (below the Sunflower mask) a watercolour blue wash, dried it, then stencilled in grey DI in new “Hexagonal pattern” stencil by Caravelle Studio, made in France! Who’d have thought?
To be honest most is lost unless you look closely, can see it a bit through oxides and elsewhere IRL. Used Hero Art “Hugs & Prayers” set.
Interesting thing with two cards, I used same colours, one in DI on plain white card other with oxides on heavyweight watercolour paper. Results oh so different!
On this card my NBUS is my hexagon stencil, a birthday pressie.. BTW dear, kind Darnell, your lovely, most surprising birthday card arrived safely Downunder, and been duly admired by one and all... thank you.❤️🤗 So VERY kind when you aren’t well.
The second card has a couple of NBUS, too. This is an embossed resist background of the SU French Script background stamp in WOW, White Linen EP - my fav white powder. Added Sunflower (no name stencil) in DI. Two NBUS - Simon Says dragonfly die (love his iridescent cardstock wings) and the Happy Birthday greeting, cheap stamp set picked up from Spotlight.
T
he last card is by Darkroom Door Butterfly collage stamp, again done with Gansai Tambi watercolours, seem to love them at mo. The die is by Impressions Obsession greeting set. The EF is Regency Swirls Embossaliscious. Now to the Aussie photos, a combo.. some from last week - perfect!

Then a couple from today... it’s been extremely wet we’ve had over 210mm or over 8” in the last two days. Joining up with Aussie photos OVER HERE to Annie’s Friday Smiles, my friends definitely had big smiles when we went swimming at these lovely spots, so VERY blessed to have such weather.
TODAY at 5pm: Seas are big, brown-cream, foamy-frothing and windswept waves. No understanding it though - I saw a man fishing in the debris and flood-filled creek on an outgoing tide. THAT is about as bad as you can fish.

Well, that’s it for today... thanks so VERY much for stopping by, and especially if you have time to say hi.

I'm sorry I'm struggling a little in comments, do often visit folks, but on mobile comments often difficult. This is second time I’ve written post (& majorly re- edit this 2nd attempt when photos and text jumped around)! On Wed night I accidentally deleted almost the whole post.😑😉

Loads of thanks and gentle prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x

Thought of the Day:

Are there things you love to read more than once, in my youth I wore some books out because I loved them so much. This bible passage is one of those .. it’s really a picture of contrasts, for troubled times..

*Hiding me in His safe place the secret of His tabernacle

contrasts with

*He set me upon a rock.

Does that make sense? .. yes, something that is secure is upon a rock, and if God has me there upon the rock AND hidden in the secret of His tabernacle...

I cannot be more safe!

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. Psalm 27:5,7-8

And truly then safe in His everlasting arms , I cry unto Him, and I will seek His face, seek the One Who loves me so VERY much.

Praise His glorious Name above all names..

  1. Hi Shaz, thanks for the visit to mine. Loving your cards today. Sorry to hear you've not been feeling very well. We're okay but been busy with my mum (92) as she's not been well and had to go into a nursing home for a while but she's home again now. It might be cold and wet where you are but it's still beautiful. Thanks for the visit to mine and take care my friend. Hugs, Angela xXx

  5. I wouldn't even attempt to do any blogging on my phone so I give you a lot of credit. Sorry to hear you were not feeling well.
I have had foot surgery and it is going to be a long healing process, it has only been a little over a week and I am ready to be able to get back to life but I must take it easy or it won't heal and I will be worse off.
Your nephew sounds like he has gone through a rough time too, sure hope he heals well too. All the cards are just beautiful, I do love my sunflowers :)
We have had way too much rain here also, but for the first time in over a week we saw sun today and that was marvelous!

  8. LOVE your sunflower cards and yes, contrary to popular belief, France isn't resting in the dark ages!!! Scrapbooking is popular and crafting things are increasingly coming onto the market. It is Carabelle Studios, not Caravelle though! I am sorry to hear about your nephew, poor lad, prayers abounding. Gorgeous piccys, we actually have sunshine today!

  9. I'm sorry to hear you have not been well. I hope you are feeling better now.
I really love you two-fer with those beautiful sunflowers.
I have no idea what 'two-fers' are, nor NBUS, but yours are stunning!
It sounds like you have taken up quite a challenge doing all those challenges. A girl just wants to have fun!
The photos of the beach are stunning! You are so blessed to live in a place like that!
The verse from the Psalm is very beautiful. I know what it is like to be 'on a rock' and ' hidden in His tabernacle'. God is so good!
    Have a lovely weekend,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  12. Oh I am so loving your beautiful sunflower twofers Sharon! I still have yet to start mine sadly. Maybe tomorrow, running out of time though, so I had better pick it up! Loving the dragonfly on the happy birthday card, so pretty with the sunflower. Love them both though and love that stencil. Not sure I would be able to do it justice like you have though! Your butterfly card is beautiful too, you are good with your watercolors. I'm terrible with challenges too. I try to get with some, but I'm not a regular with any of the sadly. That is a lot of rain in two days!! Glad you didn't float away! I am also glad you feel better and had a great visit with good weather. Not sure I'd want to be fishing in those foamy windswept waves though. And glad you didn't have that weather when you had your guest. The photo's are beautiful though. No worries about commenting, people know you will get there when you get there and if you don't that is ok too. Hugs and blessings, Brenda

  15. I'm sorry to find out you weren't feeling well for a part of February, my friend. So glad to hear that you got better and were able to enjoy your visitors in lovely weather! I'm glad to know my card arrived, although very late. I will move the date up on my calendar.

Your two sunflower designs are just gorgeous! I love that stencil and love how you have let it be the sole star of the show on your textured text CASlicious birthday design and then doubled its glory on your prayers card for your poor nephew! It sounds as if he "totaled" his knee and needed a new one, bless him. By the way, I just adore the wings on that sweet dragonfly!!

Thank you for playing in TCC #36 and for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Keep well and crafty! Hugs, Darnell
