I actually wrote this whole post last week on my mobile. In editing adding images it, I lost most of so this is take two! I did another post at weekend for Two-fer, NBUS, Butterfly, Snippets Challenge etc? Tis time for WOYWW! For those not in know WOYWW is What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday? Over here at Julia's! Here’s my desk. I’m stencilling again, seemingly it’s current addiction. Last post had a stencilling on desk, too!
This is a NBUS stencil by Paper Rose Aust company, called Gumleaves Blossom, I think. This card is my favourite this year.. so far. Using oxides on a Gansai Tambi watercolour, paper from a pad bought with Sandra De of WOYWW years ago. Hope to see her this month too, in big smoke! Yay! Here’s my cards, made with similar techniques, watercolour resist of SU French Script stamp, and the stencil over top. This card is heading to Canada for my niece!Colours just changed up, and there are two sections on stencil and used both side. Hence different leaves and blossoms.
The cards are 5 x 7” and this card I used Wow Platinum EP on it, including die cut, all die cuts are layered and are CCD.
Here’s a few Aussie photos ..
Picnic anyone?
We've had nine days straight of rain, had 27” or 675mm this month of March.
Today was brilliant sunshine ☀️ so two loads of washing done, gardening, plumbing (clearing an outside garden drain, with long armed garden tools and a hose full on!) and planted my sweetpeas ready for our spring. Now writing up WOYWW, then God willing, have quick bite to eat for tea and heading to church for missionary presentation and prayer! God is good, I’m in a well patch for me and very VERY grateful, long may it continue. 🙏😃Thanks so much for popping over, dear ones, especially if you pop over to say hi. I'm sorry I'm struggling to comment , do often visit folks, but on mobile comments often difficult.
Loads of thanks and gentle prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x
Thought of the Day:
I love the Word of God. This verse has long been a favourite of mine. I have illuminated it. I also inscribed it upon my foot plaster cast in Dec 1990. For some curious reason I broke my bones in Decembers! The Lord must have thought the busiest time of year was best for rest. 😁
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. Nahum 1:7
The night I wrote this on my right foot cast was “a sleepless with pain” sort of night. I needed a stronghold in the midst of pain, a place of warm refuge. As I said this week to a dear one, God is ONLY ever a prayer away.
IF He seems distant.. guess who moved, we have! Not Him.

Isn't it amazing how different the same image looks in different ink colours! fabulous cards. Hope you didn't get the flooding we heard some parts got. Take care and stay safe. Helen #1
ReplyDeleteWow - they turned out so great! The layers are all superb and such a different look with changing the colours. I've seen the awful footage of the floods in Oz - everyone's weather patterns seem so extreme these days. I hope things settle down for you all. Sending Spring blessings, Lisa-Jane #7
ReplyDeleteLove the look of these cards Shaz, the script resist makes a wonderfy=ul background for the stencil. I have the same stencil on my desk lol!! Glad to hear you haven't ben too badly affected by these terrible floods. Had 2 days off school here as localized flooding, back to it tomorrow, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteMorning Shaz. Two lovely cards - well done. The first Aussie photo looks COLD! Unusual for your country - but what a lot of rain you have had this month. Your land needed rain, though, didn't it - or did it only fall "in the wrong areas"? Sounds like you certainly made the most of a good day - got lots done.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Good to hear you are feeling well and able to do all the things you enjoy. The cards are beautiful and what a difference a change of colour makes. Stay safe and lets hope this rain eases soon. Won't be long and we will be having a catch up :)
ReplyDeleteSandra de @23

ReplyDeleteLove your cards and that stencil is now on my wish list!
Happy WOYWW!

I’ve been thinking about you and Sandra after reading all the news about the floods, I hope that neither of you are affected by it? I’m sorry to hear you’ve been poorly again and hope that you’re feeling a bit better now. That stamp is gorgeous, it works so well in both colour ways and I bet you’ll use that one loads of times.
ReplyDeleteTake care lovely gal,
Hugs LLJ 10 xxx
Hello Shaz! Nice cards you make. I use my photos to make cards. I need to make one today for my nephew who's b-day is this Sunday. That's quite a lot of rain. Hope you and surrounding areas don't become flooded. The last 2 July months I've fallen. One was an actual trip on a step at a rodeo. Other one a fall at work. My daughter told me to wear bubble wrap or chaps at the rodeo. Haha!! The scripture verse you shared was good to read. I also had problems the other week with my blog post too. I had to start all over again. Have a blessed day. :-) 🌷🍰

Love the stencil with the resist embossing Shaz. It is rather a lovely stencil too. So glad you have had rain after last year's drought. Say hi to Sandra De when you see her from the UK. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #4
ReplyDeleteGood Morning dear Shaz. Oh how wonderful it was to read that you're feeling well right now dear sister. I know it's been hard for you recently. I've been hearing about the rain on the news and wondering how it was affectly you personally. Prayers have been going up to the Lord on you and other Aussies behalf for safety and an end to the rain.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are lovely as always. That stencil is just the thing isn't it? That's the only way I could ever draw, through copying! :-)
Wishing you a wonderful day in the Lord my dear friend.
Blessings and love,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteThese cards are gorgeous Shaz. Loving the change of colours though I can't choose which one I like best as they are all my favourites. The photographs are lovely too and it's always so nice to see where you live. We've been watching the News about all the rain you've had recently and hope it's not being too much of a problem for you. Take care my friend and have a happy woyww, Angela x19x
ReplyDeleteSome lovely cards there. I do hope you won’t get and more rain for a while, it must be so worrying watching the water levels rise. Have a great week and happy WOYWW Angela #3
ReplyDeletevery pretty stenciling, love these colors too!
ReplyDeleteWas sorry to hear about the flooding, it is hard that one year you can have fires and the next flooding.
HI Shaz, I never learnt the whole poem just the first verse and it has stuck. Looking forward to our catch up
ReplyDeleteSandra de
So very glad that you’re in a well space...you are so uncomplaining. The rain has been really incredible, it’s great that you don’t appear to have suffered any damage, loving the moody beach shots! Your cards are just beautiful...do you know I have a set of those brushes and haven’t thought to use them to blend through stencils, what a fool!
ReplyDeleteLove the cards and the same technique in different ways - each one is still unique! That does sound like a lot of rain, hope you aren't too soggy! Have a lovely week, Happy WOYWW, stay well, stay safe, love n hugs Cindy #27xx
ReplyDeleteAlways love seeing what is on your desk Sis. Love your beautiful stenciled, watercolored birthday cards. They will bring lots of joy for sure! The first photo is looking pretty stormy and I'm glad I'm not out in that water. lol But such a beautiful photo. Lots of rain, lots of flooding. Seems Wales is seeing bad flooding as well. The water views are stunning. Sounds like you are keeping busy. So happy that you are feeling well and pray it long may continue! It is very hard to comment and post on a mobile phone, so my hats off to you for even attempting it! Love the scripture you posted, the Lord is good and a strong hold if we rust in him. Sending love and hugs as well as prayers for you and yours, blessings my sweet friend, Brenda
ReplyDeleteI love the mix of leaves peeking into the scene with the text Shaz, those are all such pretty birthday cards. ~Stacy #32

ReplyDeleteHope you are safe by the flood in your area! Lovely shots as always

I'm very late visiting this time, Shaz - it's been a busy week. Your cards are absolutely stunning and I'm not surprised that one is your favourite so far. Quite beautiful. Your Aussie pics are great too - stormy weather! I am sorry you have been in such pain that it is causing loss of sleep. The Lord is indeed good and what a comfort to know that we are safe under His feathers.
ReplyDeleteHappy very belated WOYWW and God bless,
