(Warning - photo heavy post)
Well, blink and tis almost month’s end! Today is also Australia Day. Certainly sunshine meant a good beach day, but not for me. I will say though I love Australia & believe I’m most blessed of God to live where I do!
A day late, but I’m joining in WOYWW (do join in please here at Julia’s, and bring a late note like me) π. Have so much unshared on blog. Before Christmas I made gift sets of cards so sharing some here.
Technique- smooch all over top surface of EF with chosen ink, inked three times, and emboss each time, without shifting the folder on bottom side.
I also lightly water spritzed the last smooch to activate the oxide, pop the colour and even out the tones.
I chose top side to ink up but optional (I marked it too as annoyingly Altenew hadn’t labelled this one, so mix up is easy. Usually named side is top but not always).
Here are some of the cards I made back in November, and some for next months birthday, some are explained underneath.
Now to Aust photos, today truly was as beautiful as this one, taken a fortnight ago.
These two stunning creations are Hibiscus Harlequin Beetles, they are sucking insects so not altogether good for the health of the plant, but I still wouldn't kill them.
It's a friend's photo in Sydney yesterday on an early morning walk, on FB. Have seen them but not common.
Many thanks for popping over especially if you have time for a chat.
God's blessing in all things,
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x
Thought of the Day:
I’m amazed at the bravery of all immigrants in all generations, including, in Bible times, Abraham who left in obedience to God’s command and he knew not whither he went.
So it is really for us all today!
We might know our name, our address, etc. but we really DO NOT KNOW what a day will bring forth - that’s why THE Anchor that these verses speak of is so VERY IMPORTANT.
A very wise servant of the Living God was the Rev. Richard Johnson, his choice was truly an Anchor for every single Australian (& for us all), no matter origins of birth, for 1788 and in 2023.
Psalm 116:12 What shall I render unto the LORD for all His benefits toward me?
13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
“Richard Johnson was a grateful minister and worshipper on that first Sunday in February. He would have felt that both he and all those in the First Fleet had so much for which to be thankful to God.” Quote is linked to source.

Great cards and photographs Shaz. I am going to try that technique. Do you do it three times to increase the depth of colour? Have a great weekend. Angela #12

What a great embossing folder! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteLovely cards all!
Beautiful photos, and I'm curious how your pineapple tastes, once it is ripe!
Have a great day/evening!
Oh Shaz what a beautiful selection of cards - you are an incredible artist!
ReplyDeleteToday has been windy and rather wet as we have a warm and wet front coming down from the tropics - not quite an ex-tropical cyclone, but it has put a damper on the Anniversary (long) weekend we are having... especially for those further north. Does mean I don't have to water gardens :)
Blessings
Maxine
Another bumper post of craftiness and local scenery Shaz, thanks so much for sharing. Take care.

Stunning embossed cards Shaz..Loz
ReplyDeleteI am loving your inked up embossing Sharon, but what I love even more is how you used them. Your cards are stunning! The ocean scene card is so serene, like looking out a window watching the ocean. Love the sky colors of the sympathy card, so pretty, so calming. The cards that sparkle is gorgeous, is the sparkle the rock candy? Don't even know what rock candy is. LOL But I know these are gorgeous cards! I love the colors in the last card, so beautiful. I am yearning for summer, even more after seeing your photo, looks so beautiful there. That bird is so sweet looking, nice that you have a home for his/her family! Yum, that pineapple looks so yummy!!! Wow, those beetles have beautiful coloring. I can't get over the color they have. Hope you are doing well Sharon, feeling well. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz! So many fabulous creations and photos!! You have been very busy! Your triple inking/embossing works so well, I have to try, thank you for sharing your technique! That 3D Ef if fabulous too! All your cards looks so striking and especially love the last one with that amazing frame and the vibrant fresh colours!
ReplyDeleteThose beetles look amazing, Nature is always the most talented Artist, isn't it? :)
Hugs and prayers!
Your cards are gorgeous, that EF technique is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love that technique with embossing folders, it looks especially pretty with the 3D folder, I like how you only used bits of it too! Beautiful scene cards also, love the framing of the first one! Lovely recycling of the bunch, and such a lovely frame on the last card.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures just warm me and get me excited for spring to come!
First of all congratulations on the babies. How lucky are you! The |Rosella looks like an interesting bird, love the touch of red. Isn't Mother Nature wonderful to grant you something like this to watch the progress of.
ReplyDeleteLove the colour of the beetles but not sure I would like to see the irl - reminds me of some we saw in the bedroom in the Canaries and I was not happy.
Your cards are spectacular. I would be hard pressed to choose a favourite or even favourite two or three, they are all so beautiful. But I remember all those years ago how I was drawn to your card making skills.
Spoke with lil Sis the other day and she was thrilled to receive a card from you. She said she was going to write and thank you. Things are not good, progress is very slow and I just wish I could be closer to them but too old to travel all that way now. Thank you so much Shaz, you are so kind.
Hope your own health is fine at the moment, thinking of you
God Bless, Neet xx
