Here was my desk few days back! (Now it's officially a dumping ground so didn't take that). Had to make a batch of thank you's.. so here have taken the Hero Arts Background "Thank You Definition" stamp and inked in up with Versamark embossing powder and heat set it. (The Video plastic case holds my ink daubers and handles - have unmounted stamps, ink spots, etc stored in others, stacked on one another in CD case holder- - for display see this link here) Chose two methods to ink these sheets up: 1.Ink daubers + distress ink 2. Brayer and Kaleidocolor Calypso |
Four finished cards, did five in all, but used four... DI inks were good but so were Kaleidocolor - recommend both methods. |
DI Victorian Velvet, Dusty Concord, Salty Ocean. "THANKS" if from CB Olivia alphabet set .. discontinued. |
DI Peacock feathers, Salty Ocean, Dusty Concord. |
Brayer and Kaleidocolor Calypso |
Kaleidocolor Calypso & Ink Blending tools. |
Now for Aussie shots taken when we went out with dad for our icecream down by the beach.. bit of a Sunday arvo tradition, buy an icecream and take it to some beachy location to eat it. This was one gorgeous day.. with seagulls going a tad crazy.
Mother and toddler below were swamped.. birds were harmless.. no food so kind of lost interest.. note the colour contrast with the deeper water out to sea..

I like the idea of those daubers and I like the pictures of the blue skies and sunshine even more. It's never stopped raining for months here in Lancashire UK
ReplyDeleteHave a good week

I really like those thank You cards, especially the ones with the rainbow backing colours. Quite lovely!! And I'm envious of the blue skies and sea too...it's dull and grey here today. Sigh!!

Gosh, amazing the difference in the colour of the sea where it goes deeper. Love the photos especially as the place you remember (M/Cr) has been wet wet wet.
ReplyDeleteLove your experiments, some lovely colour combos - I just love using DI's and almost any combo works well. The ones you chose are good.
Hugs & Thanks for the visit

Beautiful colors on these backgrounds, I like using the brayer but I enjoy sponging my ink on. Those pictures are just beautiful, I can't get over the different colors of blue, that is just amazing, getting ice cream and going to the beach sounds wonderful right about now :) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLovely and colourful! xxx
ReplyDeleteyour thank you cards are amazing! I haven't used my rainbow pads in so long...they make for gorgeous backgrounds.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos too, love the blue sky/deep sea/shallow sea contrasts Helen 4
Very similar designs but the cards turned out looking different and unique, you're great as using your inks, I could be more adventurous mixing colors and using them more often!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are gorgeous! I haven't thought of that technique for ages! And love the beach scenes. So relaxing a scene. Hope you have a great day!

I think 'Olivia' is one of my most favourite typefaces of all of them! Your cards are delicious, lovely rich colours. And then the sea....photos of rich colours. Great.
ReplyDeleteOh WOW what totally stunning colours you have achieved here, gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteJust face timed with my Daughter and she says they have had lots of rain in Sydney but you don't look to have it wherever you are.
Hope you are having a good week.

The cards are lovely - gorgeous colours as is the sea in your photos.

Great cards and lovely seaside photos. Looks a bit warmer in your part of the world than here in N Ireland - down to minus 1 this morning!
ReplyDeleteBernice #22
Love those background colors, so pretty!! Lovely thank you cards! Beautiful photos, we've had a break in our rainy weather here on the north coast of California and have enjoyed the sunshine, a little too cool to head to the beach, however (at least for me anyway!). Enjoy the rest of the week. God bless!
ReplyDeleteI love these cards Shaz, the distress ink blending looks amazing. . . I need more practice with a lighter hand to get decent results.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment on my blog, I am now your new follower as well : )
Stunning colour combo on your cards Shaz. Those beach scenes are just perfect - I just wish I could step right into one! x Jo
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and what a cool technique. Thanks for the tips. Beach scenes look so inviting. Especially this cold morning in the Ozarks. Creative Blessings! Kelly #42
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Sharon, love the distress inking! I love distress inks cause I think so much can be done with them and they are so fun to work with. Love, love, love those beautiful pictures. I sure wish I was there! lol We are bitter cold here and got more snow. Will be down to 0 tonight, brrrrr! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteI have seen this technique yet have not tried it. Glad you shared this. The beach and water looks so wonderfully relaxing especially since we just got four inches of snow dumped on us with freezing temperatures. Diane 35
ReplyDeleteThose rainbow colored backgrounds make my heart happy. Those cards came out fabulous. I want to be on the beach pestering and being pestered by seagulls. It sounds so much nicer than freezing my butt off in this office! Thanks for the visit earlier. PJ #53
ReplyDeleteSo much inspiration...so little time! love the calypso colors- I have that pad somewhere!
ReplyDeleteRobyn 2
WOW what a gorgeous collection of cards...love the way you achieved such perfect blending of colors
ReplyDeleteCheers

Hi Shaz,
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of the Distress Ink Pads. Your cards came out nicely. I hadn't thought of stamping with Versamark and not adding any embossing powder. I'll have to remember that.
Beach photos are amazing. I'm a Cancer so I think I should live near a beach!
Happy belated WOYWW
Peace, Kay (50)
Happy Thursday Shaz! Sorry I'm late to the party, it's been a hectic week here. I think those cards are so pretty, but, as usual, my favorites are the Aussie shots. Those beach photos. Oh my! When we are in the winter doldrums here, they are just what I need to lift my spirits. That sky is amazing! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Hi Shaz,
ReplyDeleteThat's a great technique! But of course the beach pics are what I really came for :)
(Yes, the world of zentangling is an odd place.) The tiger pic is part of a double page spread. It's finished and maybe I will have time to put a pic up later.)
Have a good week,
RosA
Hi Shaz, such beautiful cards, they are always inspiring! I love your photos too!Thank you for joining us at Word Art Wednesday's 219th challenge!! Ginny M
ReplyDeleteHugs!
I love this technique and your colouring tips are great! Your cards are lovely, colourful and elegant. I adore the photos of the beach, blue skies, a stroll with your Dad, ice-cream in hand....bliss!
ReplyDeleteLove these cards Shaz. The colours are beautiful. I love the idea. They reflect the colours of your sea pictures too.
ReplyDeleteNow what I would give to get an ice cream and going to a beachey place with my Dad. We are a bit too far from the beach to do that!
Hugs

I've done this resist technique, Shaz, but used Inkylicious Ink Dusters which work really well, and get in all the small areas. I love how you've blended the colours. Grea Aussie pic too! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment - glad you like what I'm up to! Dentist this week... (Shoshi shakes...) Port flushing is a doddle though. I got a letter yesterday and the port comes out middle of March.
Sorry to be so long getting around - I've got loads of comments to reply to and have been busy making my hubby's Valentine card so I'm all behind.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #20
