Scrappy Mo’s Christmas March Challenge, Snippets Playground, NBUS + WOYWW

Hi there everyone! Yes, this month is rattling by and we are almost a quarter of way through 2021! For it’s the 31st, today Scrappy Mo’s Christmas Challenge ends for March - see here! Firstly as is Wednesday, and WOYWW - What it On Your Workdesk Wednesday over HERE at Julia’s.

So here is my desk. Am busy making a card for Mister 8 (whose colour is GREEN). Ideas in head and reality vary a lot sometimes, definitely the case here, a few hiccoughs, but okay in end. πŸ˜‰

This is a set from Beccy’s Place Digis "Prehistoric Party" that retires by 31st April, check them out.. so cheap. I've bought a number of her half price retiring sets here, love they’ve greetings, coloured images , which I used and black and white.

TIP: to make cutting out fiddly images easier, do a thicker outline around it, imperfections are more easily hidden. I also shape them with shaping tool on foam mat, do extra snips in image to accent shape. *I often work on scrap advert paper so then it’s thrown away, saves cleaning desk surface!
Now next pickie, only a crafter will feel what a bargain and gift of God this huge roll of branded tape was.. for $Aud3.50! 😳😁 yes, only one in stock at big hardware, with other mounting tape, no label as is, so lady "gave" it to me. Never seen them in Oz before.. only in videos in USA. Happy dance time!!

To my cards! Rudolph day Christmas card first.

Believe it or not this is ALL Snippets!? So off to Snippets Playground here. Even base, made it for another card last year, but never used! Foil were all from small bits. Dies are CCD, except greeting strip, set by Avery Elle. It’s first outing,  as well as the CCD two dies, quite separate Nativity globe andJOY dies, so a NBUS. The stamped greeting “to the world” greeting is by Poppy Stamps, “Joy to the World”, heat embossed Gina K silver EP.The design is a CASE from my Christmas card received from Brenda of Crafting with Friends, used a deer die cut jumping through the “O” instead of small nativity. Thanks BrendaπŸ’œ for the idea. The EF is by Couture creations, I think, Christmas set.

Mister 8’s card!

B
ackground in GreenStep 1 - watercolours painted in graduation.
Step 2 - embossing folder inked in Cottage Ivy Memento. Memento is best dye ink in ones I have for even colouring EF. EF is Sizzix, unnamed bought thus on eBay (see comments, Alice shares name). As front was half full A4 sheet needed embossing twice, but managed to hide join.
The central die cut image is stamped on the back on Kraft side of cereal packet (see desk 1!) with Stampscapes Rock platform (multiple layers stamped, 5 in all, they layer beautifully) and sml reed or grass stamp.
It’s on Kraft coloured cereal box back, so added inks for variation. Die is SB Labels 28, largest die.

First of all two photos to share!

- from my friend, Anne in France, where spring bulbs are showing colour to cheer anyone’s heart!
Now two Aussie pickies, also by my friend here, Robyn in Oz.
Oh yes , the sun is out!  Wonderful autumn weather, went for swim the other day.. 24.7C water temp. Perfect!
The seagulls here were after their lunch, but wisely they did not feed them.

Well, thank you for popping over to peek, especially if you could say hi! You’re so appreciated. My commenting was really hindered by a weekend bug which visited, but am over it now, thankfully πŸ˜….

May God bless you all and keep you safe wherever you may be!

Prayer hugs, πŸ™πŸ€— , Shaz in Oz.x

Thought for the day:

Well, Easter is coming, as we call it. This Friday is the Passover , as the Lord’s people, Israel call it. The Passover was first celebrated as slaves in Egypt, when in each family a πŸ‘ lamb was slain  and the blood 🩸 was put upon the door lintel and the door frame sides.

This dripping blood formed a cross - when God’s angel of death passed over in judgement upon Egypt’s cruelty in enslaving His people. When the blood was seen, God passed over.. The firstborn male was preserved, not slain as in unbelieving families, with no blood upon their door lintels.

Each year this Passing Over of the angel of death is celebrated by Israeli’s to remember how God preserved them, His people.

This first Passover lamb slain was looking toward the cross,  upon which the Lord Jesus Christ died - for my sins, and for yours and for all mankind. As John said: “BEHOLD, The Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the World”.

The Christ born in Bethlehem became the Lamb of God, Who gave up His life upon the cross, on Good Friday upon the cross. He gave up His life, it was not taken from Him!

"He could’ve have called ten thousand angels to set Him free,

But He died alone for you and me"!

I will be back God willing in Resurrection Day.. Sunday. 😁

Watercolour Stamp Resist with Stencils + WOYWW.

I actually wrote this whole post last week on my mobile. In editing adding images it, I lost most of so this is take two! I did another post at weekend for Two-fer, NBUS, Butterfly, Snippets Challenge etc? Tis time for WOYWW! For those not in know WOYWW is What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday? Over here at Julia's! Here’s my desk. I’m stencilling again, seemingly it’s current addiction. Last post had a stencilling on desk, too!

This is a NBUS stencil by Paper Rose Aust company, called Gumleaves Blossom, I think. This card is my favourite this year.. so far. Using oxides on a Gansai Tambi watercolour, paper from a pad bought with Sandra De of WOYWW years ago. Hope to see her this month too, in big smoke! Yay! Here’s my cards, made with similar techniques, watercolour resist of SU French Script stamp, and the stencil over top. This card is heading to Canada for my niece!
Colours just changed up, and there are two sections on stencil and used both side. Hence different leaves and blossoms.

The cards are 5 x 7” and this card I used Wow Platinum EP on it, including die cut, all die cuts are layered and are CCD.

Here’s a few Aussie photos ..

Picnic anyone?

We've had nine days straight of rain, had 27” or 675mm this month of March.

Today was brilliant sunshine ☀️ so two loads of washing done, gardening, plumbing (clearing an outside garden drain, with long armed garden tools and a hose full on!) and planted my sweetpeas ready for our spring. Now writing up WOYWW, then God willing, have quick bite to eat for tea and heading to church for missionary presentation and prayer! God is good, I’m in a well patch for me and very VERY grateful, long may it continue. πŸ™πŸ˜ƒ

Thanks so much for popping over, dear ones, especially if you pop over to say hi. I'm sorry I'm struggling to comment , do often visit folks, but on mobile comments often difficult.

Loads of thanks and gentle prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x

Thought of the Day:

I love the Word of God. This verse has long been a favourite of mine. I have illuminated it. I also inscribed it upon my foot plaster cast in Dec 1990. For some curious reason I broke my bones in Decembers! The Lord must have thought the busiest time of year was best for rest. 😁

The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. Nahum 1:7

The night I wrote this on my right foot cast was “a sleepless with pain” sort of night. I needed a stronghold in the midst of pain, a place of warm refuge. As I said this week to a dear one, God is ONLY  ever a prayer away.

IF He seems distant.. guess who moved, we have!     Not Him.

Stencilled Stamped Challenges - Friday Smiles, Twofer, NBUS, Butterflies, Snippets Playground,

Hi there everyone! Sooo sorry I’ve been soo silent, but was rather unwell in February, then busy catching up and had a visitor last week. Talk about God’s perfect timing, I was well and the weather was wonderful.πŸ˜ƒ A total contrast this week.. more of that anon! I’m  popping into share my Two-fer!

Don’t die of shock but I’m joining in with Darnell’s Two-fer challenge as well as her NBUS, AND Mrs A.'s butterfly challenge this really must be a record for me, I’m so bad at challenges.πŸ˜† These are my Two-fers! I will share below. Firstly my desk!

I’m starting the Two-fer on the left, this is a male “Get Well card”, for my nephew. He smashed his kneecap in eight places! Ouch! All wired up, a bad crash - so thought he might need a “Cheer me up!”. I’ve actually painted the background (below the Sunflower mask) a watercolour blue wash, dried it, then stencilled in grey DI in new “Hexagonal pattern” stencil by Caravelle Studio, made in France! Who’d have thought?
To be honest most is lost unless you look closely, can see it a bit through oxides and elsewhere IRL. Used Hero Art “Hugs & Prayers” set.
Interesting thing with two cards, I used same colours, one in DI on plain white card other with oxides on heavyweight watercolour paper. Results oh so different!
On this card my NBUS is my hexagon stencil, a birthday pressie.. BTW dear, kind Darnell, your lovely, most surprising birthday card arrived safely Downunder, and been duly admired by one and all... thank you.❤️πŸ€— So VERY kind when you aren’t well.
The second card has a couple of NBUS, too. This is an embossed resist background of the SU French Script background stamp in WOW, White Linen EP - my fav white powder. Added Sunflower (no name stencil) in DI. Two NBUS - Simon Says dragonfly die (love his iridescent cardstock wings) and the Happy Birthday greeting, cheap stamp set picked up from Spotlight.
T
he last card is by Darkroom Door Butterfly collage stamp, again done with Gansai Tambi watercolours, seem to love them at mo. The die is by Impressions Obsession greeting set. The EF is Regency Swirls Embossaliscious. Now to the Aussie photos, a combo.. some from last week - perfect!

Then a couple from today... it’s been extremely wet we’ve had over 210mm or over 8” in the last two days. Joining up with Aussie photos OVER HERE to Annie’s Friday Smiles, my friends definitely had big smiles when we went swimming at these lovely spots, so VERY blessed to have such weather.
TODAY at 5pm: Seas are big, brown-cream, foamy-frothing and windswept waves. No understanding it though - I saw a man fishing in the debris and flood-filled creek on an outgoing tide. THAT is about as bad as you can fish.

Well, that’s it for today... thanks so VERY much for stopping by, and especially if you have time to say hi.

I'm sorry I'm struggling a little in comments, do often visit folks, but on mobile comments often difficult. This is second time I’ve written post (& majorly re- edit this 2nd attempt when photos and text jumped around)! On Wed night I accidentally deleted almost the whole post.πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‰

Loads of thanks and gentle prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x

Thought of the Day:

Are there things you love to read more than once, in my youth I wore some books out because I loved them so much. This bible passage is one of those .. it’s really a picture of contrasts, for troubled times..

*Hiding me in His safe place the secret of His tabernacle

contrasts with

*He set me upon a rock.

Does that make sense? .. yes, something that is secure is upon a rock, and if God has me there upon the rock AND hidden in the secret of His tabernacle...

I cannot be more safe!

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. Psalm 27:5,7-8

And truly then safe in His everlasting arms , I cry unto Him, and I will seek His face, seek the One Who loves me so VERY much.

Praise His glorious Name above all names..
