Hi there everyone ... well this is a pin from my "Must Try This!" board here on Pinterest, a video method by the clever Jennifer McGuire. So I took my faithful Tombow water-based pens (bought in about 1992, added to over the years but none have dried out .. cant say that for any other marker!)
1. Randomly scribbled colour on a snippet of watercolour paper. used pinks and purple mauve cos my friend loves those colours. |
2. Soaked the paper with water from mini mister and moved colour around with my fingers... yes! did end up with inky fingers :D 3. Dried it off well, and used embossing buddy (see how to make them here) to get rid of static. 4. Then stamped image with Versamark and clear embossing powder with (discontinued) *Hero Arts Flowing Flower and Leaves background stamp. 5. Then added more water, this time really soaking it well and with paper towel drew off as much colour to give a relief image in deeper ink and paler colour around it. |
Here is my card complete ...with *Memory Box Pinpoint Circle Layers, made into a frame mount popped up. (Note to self: Cut and emboss one die cut at time .. makes a cleaner frame cut, than doing two together.) Greeting embossed in Versafine Imperial Purple - HB greeting is by Lawn Fawn stamps, a set called *"So much to say". I love this technique and these dies have used the latter already again in another card! Will redo this again as it can be improved. (*NBUS items). |
To the Aussie shots a few weeks back now at our creek five mins away.. |

Such a lovely card using this technique, the colors are so pretty and like the framing of it!
Your beach pictures are so nice to see since we are experiencing cloudy and rainy days here lately
Amazing transformation. I love the finished card. My favourite colours. Hugs Mrs A.
I love the way you've framed your technique so it takes centre stage. So pretty in those colours too. Thanks so much for your lovely comment on my blog and for becoming a follower, I'm off to follow you now.

What beautiful results from inky finger work. Thank you for your visits today and your lovely comments. I have really enjoyed playing with inky things too, although parchment with the Clarity Groovi system has rather taken over my life. The one that I thought was Pergamano was actually a PCA (Parchment Craft Australia). When I came to put the plate away, I realised my mistake. I am hoping to join in with the blog hop this week, if I can remember to take my photos of the mess that is my craft area - I am on the finishing straight with finally sorting and cataloguing all my stamps. Hope you are feeling well. xxx Maggie
What a wonderful job you did with this technique Sharon! I am so in love with your card. I also want to try this technique out myself here one day soon. Goodness, I long to be in those pictures, so beautiful!! Even if a storm made a mess of things, it is still indeed a beautiful spot!! Hugs, Brenda
Beautiful work . . . will have to try this out! Thanks for the info.

Thanks for sharing the techniques you learn, so I in turn can learn something new. I love the effect of the image being in bolder shades than the background, but in the same color. Now I know how to:)
Just popping in and cruising your blog to pin your other two NBUS cards to my Pinterest board, Shaz. I was particularly aswoon over this one! I've been seeing this technique all over Blogland and this is one of the best I've seen! I can't wait to try this myself!! Thanks again, my friend!! Hugs, Darnell
