Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW + Masking on a CAS card

Hullo there again everyone. Very sorry for long silence, have been unwell. I am now much better after a ten day trip to the big smoke five hours away. Saw Dr and had tests which ruled out nasties :D and treatment has helped wonderfully. I am very grateful to the LORD for His mercies in this and have been deeply encouraged by the prayers and thoughts of those in cyber-space, as well as in Oz.
First of all to the desk as it is Wednesday and we share over at Julia's place (aka the Queen of desks - click here) - just what we are up to in our part of the world!
Here I am supposedly stamping and updating my stamp catalogue. Some I missed it when I did it last year, and some have somehow arrived "chez moi" since that time.. so much for my resolution that:"I had quite enough stamps, thank you"!
And yes have used some although they were not catalogued, so it means they arrived to purpose.
Second desk is two days ago when was stamping, yup! was masking and getting inky! Mask made with Spellbinder Classic Oval.
First shot below is of laying down base colour - always find this helps with any sort of colouring for good blending have base colour, especially works well with brayering. Let base colour dry before next layer is added.

Then as colours are to my taste added the (SU Oriental set bird with Bamboo) stamp in Versafine Black ink.
Remove mask and voilĂ !Alas the photos does not show the lovely shimmer of the Brilliance Dew drop inks. {I would like to link these cards up with Word Art Wednesday}.
Now for the Aussie shot of the day, here is one of our brommeliad in flower, a while ago now.
I do have some cards to share that I have made and also some real beauties which have been sent to me, so hope to sahre these in next few days..
Oh and just realised I need an 85th birthday card for Friday too, so going to have to get cracking :D Thanks so much for popping over for a peek and chat and may God bless your day wherever you may be,
Shaz in Oz.x PS it is good to be back :D
A special welcome to two bloggers who joined whilst I was not posting for nearly a month to Pottersvilla (no blog link?) and creative Liz - blog here - a newbie - welcome!

What an interesting post. I have trouble masking, so this was a great lesson. And of course, I LOVE the brommeliad. Such a unique and lovely plant and even more so when it flowers. Happy WOYWW from #2.

Hello Shaz. I had missed you, and am sorry you have been so unwell; I praise God with you that no nasties are revealed!! Good looking desk this morning - I like the masked cards - very simple look, clear space - good stuff!!! I prefer that style of openness myself - don't really do lots and lots of embellishing and frills.
Thanks for already visiting. The dress itself can't be revealed until after the ceremony - and that isn't until Sep - but it has to be made to go to Romania in May - hence the early work on it. The bride-to-be is part of our church, and is having two ceremonies - hence two dresses!!!!!
Have a great week with Jesus!

Hi Shaz, lovely to see you back, and am very glad all is well with you now. How funny, both of us making masks with Nesties this week, and I see you too have been grabbed by Ryns stamps. I too need to update my stamp catalogue- I keep getting up to date, intending to add each one as it arrives, although, like you, I also tell myself I have more than I will ever use already! Then I forget to add them, and end up with loads uncatalogued. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #38 xxx

Beautiful examples of masking, Shaz. It's a simple way to make a lovely vignette! Sorry I didn't make it onto WOYWW proper this week - had a bad week health wise, and the only time spent in my ARTHaven was completely taken up with trying to get my poor old sewing machine working, without success, so it's now in for repairs.

Have a great week.

Glad to see you back, and to know that the news was good. I just hope you get a good run at feeling better, enough to give you chance to really build on that good news. My stamp catalogue was doing well, until this last couple of weeks, when more stamps arrived here. Others helped me to get a grip on some of the other stuff that needed sorting so the stamps were just abandoned in my room, so I now need to re-sort and catalogue. The big craft show this week increased my stash too. You are so right about laying down a base colour before adding the main colours. Thank you for sharing your lovely flowers with us. Have a good week my friend. xx Maggie #76
