Mm! It is now past Wednesday, however I've still a desky share - or What is On Your workdesk Wednesday.. pop over to our Julia's desk for the link up, at Stamping Ground!
I started this post last week for WOYWW, but became ill, so will utilise it.. but edit somewhat!Method. Boil up water, as if making a cuppa! (mm, do one at same time!) place in cup, then add white gelly roll, with tip down.. without lid on it.
Heated the water twice (removed pen to reheat in microwave), then left it overnight. This afternoon in answer to prayer, + above method, it works just fine.
Nil response from Signo. I know other folks recommend it but I did not like this one.
EDIT to above tip: While ever it was submerged in water ie moist, as shown, the pen works, but once lid is put on and is put away it returns to unusable state.
So I'm just re-immersing it as shown in image each time I need to use it at the present. This doesn't take long, just add really warm water allow to cool about twenty mins, then it seems happy to write away.
Technique of crumpled tissue and embossing .. to see technique look here! A favourite technique - this sheet was one done on this post. |
NOW TO THE ... Aussie shots ... be warned photo heavy!!!
Another baby there are two suckers here and one has shot a fruit.. they are brommeliads and at this stage in the flower you can see that. |
Picked pineapple about a foot or 30 cm long, that is a ruler at front. Below: Test whether a pineapple is ripe in shops and on plant by whether you can easily pull out the centre leaf. |
1.332kg with skin and top, peeled below it is 776g or 3/4 a kilo of fruit and yes it is sweet and very nice. We were having a family BBQ so it went down very well! |
The roses are flowering downunder as spring has really sprung so here are some bunches in house.. I also take them to family in nursing home. This red bunch and pink was particularly fragrant as they are all strongly scented.
Well, its almost into Friday here in about six hours so going to join up with Annie's Friday smiles too, lots of smiles here!
Thanks so much every one for popping over for a peek and chat!May God bless your day wherever you may be.

Beautiful calligraphy work - I am so impressed at your talent for it, and how uniform the letters are. The picture of the Kookaburra is so sweet too. I'm just off to look at your crumpled tissue technique - it's gorgeous on that card.
Hope you have a great week,
Diana #9 x
The gilded tissue technique is wonderful and I love your calligraphy. You must have a very steady hand! How cool to have pineapples grow in your garden?! Beats the apples we've got at the bottom of ours for sure! Happy belated WOYWW! zsuzsa #11
Beautiful work, beautiful pictures and thank you about the two hints about pen and testing ripeness of pineapple. God Bless you and your work.
Ah! one of my favourite techniques with the tissue, love it. Gorgeous pineapple too. Have a lovely belated woyww, Angela x7x

Beautiful projects as always.
Hi Shaz - what a great post - as you say, plenty to smile at. The calligraphied piece is beautiful - as is that gorgeous card. The text is fantastic - oh how we long for people to know the mercy, grace and compassion of our Heavenly Father. That pineapple is amazing, and I can almost smell those roses from here!!!
Take care my friend. God bless.

OH, how I enjoyed this post Shaz. That card is stunning and one of my favorite verses. His mercy. It is what gives us hope. That pineapple looks so delicious. It's hard for me to fathom that as we are beginning to deal with snow, you're experiencing the beauty of spring! Beautiful roses.
Blessings,
Betsy
You have a lot of patience, I've not a good calligraphy hand :)
Lovely kookaburra drawing,it looks perfect!Your card is amazing with that background, such amazing texture and colors!
Your work is stunning, Shaz. When I did calligraphy many years ago, I found layout to be the most difficult part. I love how you created the image - must remember that! A useful tip. I am one who uses the Signo white pen and have never had one that clogged up, but I do find it needs to be fixed as it can rub off a bit. Perhaps I'll try the Gelly Roll white pen. I love your beautiful piece with the crumpled tissue - it's so beautiful, and I love the frame surrounding the excellent text. Thank you for your visit and your lovely comment - so glad you enjoyed the kittens and my Zentangles! You are right - I don't have private health insurance, but the reason for not getting elective surgery is that my surgeon is weighing up risk against benefit. When he deems it necessary to have surgery, it should happen fairly quickly. I am hoping to persuade him to go ahead with it, when I next see him, because I am most anxious to avoid a repeat of what happened at the beginning of the year. He is keeping a very close eye on me and I know I am in good hands, and he's been giving my case a lot of thought, I know.
Happy belated WOYWW,

Your calligraphy looks great! So cool with the bird image!
Thanks for the tip for your white pens, I need to give it a try, I have had a couple dry up on me.
Beautiful tissue card, will have to give this technique a try with my stamp group :)
The flowers are beautiful, I am sure your family appreciates you bringing them by!
Love your penmanship Shaz - it's beautiful, and the way you have paled the kookaburra image so you can colour it yourself is clever.
The tissue paper card is gorgeous - so delicate.
That pineapple looks so yummy!!
My roses are growing well, but it is too cold where I am to have flowers yet :-)
Blessings
Maxine

MMM-fresh pineapple! I've never had one THAT fresh before, I can only imagine how wonderful it was! Your cards are gorgeous, I love that technique! And those roses - wow!! Sorry I'm so late this week! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #26
Thank you for your visit, Shaz - yes, Margaret and I had a gtreat time! More nattering than creating took place, though! The Pergamano is so beautiful but it's not for me - too fiddly and time consuming, so I shall continue to admire what others do!
Shoshi
Gorgeous card Shaz! It's so elegant and the colours and textures are lovely.
