Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Twofer Bird Challenge, CAS Stencil + Mixed Up Bokeh Challenge

Hi there just popping in with it quick challenge over at the TWOFER Challenge it’s birds this month! Conveniently I’d already made a card with birds on it so I just had to make a different one with the same die and stencil.
Different in more ways than one.
*Different design AND *different purpose.
Using same dies, stencils or stamps.
I really found this fun, partly becausealready made the purple card - specifically  for the CAS Mixed Up Bokeh Challenge.
The rectangle die I extended to double length on the second card, put it in landscape format. I did double stencilling on corner of a reject Bokeh piece, putting the original stencil back on one corner. I’m learning with mixed media that you can layer over the failed bits, ones you don’t like or die cut them out. It’s funny, I’ve always thought of mixed media as not CAS.
I tend towards CAS, and a lot of mixed media I have seen is most definitely not CAS. So learning all the time, aren’t we!? For those wondering what I’m doing a lot more challenges at the moment it’s because with summer down under and I have more free time to play! These are our summer holidays. I love them. Can’t swim at moment though as have leg infection which is a bit of a shame. But means I can read books and that’s good!
Items used: Both dies are CCD, masks are 1. From cheap craft shop (Stripe one) 2. Kaisercraft, two Bokeh stencils on Wednesday's desk. Inks Distress and Chalk ink. Ink dusters with DI and TH sponge with chalk.
To encrusted Jewel technique, mentioned on WOYWW, see Loll's magnificent card HERE. Except I used different colours as I've different stash. I've done more of this jewel encrusted technique with layering embossing powder. However you definitely need a heat mat if using a pan or griddle. It went through baking paper. I had a bit of mess, not much but some. One other thing my Shaved Ice melted white. Opaque white, not like Loll's. Even when used green glitter EP on another sample, it was still definitely white/ or really cream. Haven't made the others into cards yet.
MFT Peekaoo window, MB Moonlight butterfly, stamp CCS. TH Mosaic stencil & iridescent paste.
This is totally a CASE from Loll's card. The iridescent EP was winner with purple glitter, EP and turquoise EP with teeny bit of shaved ice. Most blew off on floor as did this one with heat gun. First layer is best as a thick clear then add other layers. Can add glitter which I did, and sequins etc.
Ordered some cheap heat mats on eBay so will try again.
To the Aussie plus shots.
The skies are very blue, no rain for weeks, and the sea is very beautiful, this was the view in the evening of a family members 40th birthday on new year’s eve. It was a memorable day.
They came from Norway for it! I stayed in Norway with them in Aug/ Sept, so this second shot is from Norway.
They lived in the corner flat right at the top of that hill in Trondheim. The hill has a bike lift they lock in and it takes them up! It's a university town.
I’d loads of hill walking there and was glad I’d done some here too. Had an amazing view.
It’s very beautiful as were all the places I visited in my trip, but to be honest I believe I live in the best place in the world and that I am so very blessed to live here!
Thanks so much for popping over for peek and chat. You’re such a blessing to me. Don’t forget my new blog too over there at Wonderful Words of Life. I’d love it if you’d pop over, join and say hi there too. 💕
May God bless your day wherever you may be,

NBUS - Brushos explored - What fun!

Hi all - over at DARNELL'S - over here - is the NBUS Challenge please join in! but be quick sticks as it ends soon on 5th Sept! I'm scurrying in, hurrying like! Curiously my NBUS or Not Used Before Schtuff is same as Darnell's on her post!
Righto - Brushos  - am total newbie at using them! Stamped resist on first effort with a Stampin' up background stamp called "On The Spot" bought second hand on eBay, never to my recollection used by moi on card before. Stamped in Vesramark, clear embossed and heat set. Sprinkled three colours (okay - cant remember know one was lime green). The sprayed with water can see gold bottom of water spray.
End result - today was Father's day in Oz, so gave it to my darling dad today. He's 87 and not in best of health, but ever so grateful he is still able to enjoy a day out with his family. The lime was with diluted brushos lime green, embossed with CB bubble EF twice. Used CB Olivia alphabet to do Happy Dads day, added twine.
Want to apologise for lack of commenting, am still not 100% and when am able to am visiting dad who's just moved to a nursing home two weeks ago. However will hopefully catch up in next few days.. but no promises will just do my best. I thank you one and all for your kind and caring comments ... bloggers truly are great!

And a big welcome to new blogging friend here, first for months :D

Darkroom Door Photo Stamp - Surfboards - Male Birthday

(For WOYWW post click here or just scroll down.. thank you!)

Well, time already for the mid-month DT post for Bizzy Bec's, quite scary how quickly this comes around!
To the method ... step by step of course :D
Stamp the lovely stamp in black Versafine ink and emboss with clear EP
I had bought some lovely cheesecloth from Bec and wanted to use it with this, so sprayed the Dylusions teal spray + also perfect pearls spray. Has lovely sheen on this, just cant see it.
Here is the dyed cheesecloth (also used it as a stamp while it wet and juicy on some other card to right). It was too dark when done so I wrapped it up like a sausage and put a Rubber band down length of it, like we did for tie dyeing in the '70's. Then wet it all over again with water and took some of the colour out randomly with kitchen paper to get the mixed colour. Let it dry naturally.
Added some real sand from our beach, with some texture paste and masking tape.
Assembled card - coloured the sky with DI ink and hand made cloud masks. Added the colour to sea with Versamark and Perfect Pearls, and also the surfboards. Turquoise card on left was coloured from cheesecloth stamps above and added some more colour after embossing piece, I added some more inks to highlight. Only needed a third of cheesecloth which i dyed as it was folded over three times. Happy Birthday (LOTV) stamp was stamped in Versafine on cork and clear embossed. Background paper is some old stash of hand made paper from 1990's, shells and starfish also from stash.

loads of shimmer on this card....
Products used:
*Ranger Perfect Pearls PPP21803 Aged Patina
(available for order, as are Ranger products - see Bec.)
*Cheesecloth (out of stock, but also available through Bec.)
Thanks so VERY much for popping over for peek and chat...
