Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Penny Black Soft Wings Butterfly + early WOYWW

Almost Wednesday.. a day early with desky share time for me ... tomorrow pop over to head desker Queen Julia of the Stamping Ground!        My desk (s):
Well, here is my bargain stamp tool bought in New year sales (less than 1/2 price). Love it! Crafts-Too Press to Impress. If not too late over at Mrs A's butterfly challenge, I hope to enter again. Using Tombow watercolour markers and spritz technique. Below you see stamped image used three colours in Mrs A.'s challenge. Ivory (cardstock), Iceberg Blue, and Imperial purple.
This is my new method of storing Tombows. Saw a cheap A4 storage box in supermarket, thought of Tombow & Bob's your uncle! 😊 I've had some of these since 1992. Not one has been binned yet. The one thing I ALWAYS try to do is double check every single cap I've used before putting them away. As you'll see I did some spattering with same colours too.
Completed card (*so sorry image bit soft, its very windy today card kept blowing!). Also used the other three wheel elements on Mrs A.'s challenge. They were Include a Die cut (CCD Stitched Flag), Invitation and Image (stamp). Aren't they pretty colours? So used all six elements! Yay. Mind you I'm taking the calligraphed "You're invited!" tag off .. and keeping it as an emergency card birthday/ sympathy etc card. I just wanted to use all six elements.
This is the encrusted jewel technique I spoke of last WOYWW. I shared another one earlier HERE too. Basically it is mutiple embossing. My technique needs to be more polished. The background has one mask, multiple masking. Moved same mask along once then reinked for different pattern. Then flipped mask over, and added white chalk ink layer. The base card is kraft coloured.. it actually is an ice cream packet! Helps in mutiple layering effect if you start with coloured base card IMHO. EP shown below one had glitter in it. You start with extra thick EP.. or multiple clear layers. Last entry for CAS stencil challenge. I have had fun.
Haven't made this one up. Used Green Glitter EP. The white is shaved ice. Folks on videos etc said it went pretty green. Mine went white... I still really like it. Not made into card yet. I'm going to go back to basics next time I think and try cooking it over a toaster like I did before heat tool bought in 1995. My Milwaukee gun is still working after nearly 25 years. I dont know how often I've dropped it!
I'm going to close with some more of Norway like last post. We went to the beach at the weekend I was there. No real sand like here kind of coarse granular. Still loved these flowers. At first glance they look like scotch thistle. But they're not. Very soft, also a yellow pea flower there. Maybe wildflowers. Loved the painted beach sheds or whatever they're called in Norwegian! This beach is an hour from Trondheim.
Sorry about reflection took it through a window.
Thanks everyone for popping over for a peek and chat. You make me smile. I pray every blessing upon you and those you love too.

My new blog over here at Wonderful Words of Life. I’d love it if you’d pop over, join and say hi there too. 💕
Mrs A.s theme of Invitation made me think of the many Invitations in the Bible. This one is oft quoted yet used too little. How rarely we find that complete rest for our souls.. if only we'd slow down and look up to the Lord Jesus. He alone can give that rest to our soul.

Twofer Bird Challenge, CAS Stencil + Mixed Up Bokeh Challenge

Hi there just popping in with it quick challenge over at the TWOFER Challenge it’s birds this month! Conveniently I’d already made a card with birds on it so I just had to make a different one with the same die and stencil.
Different in more ways than one.
*Different design AND *different purpose.
Using same dies, stencils or stamps.
I really found this fun, partly becausealready made the purple card - specifically  for the CAS Mixed Up Bokeh Challenge.
The rectangle die I extended to double length on the second card, put it in landscape format. I did double stencilling on corner of a reject Bokeh piece, putting the original stencil back on one corner. I’m learning with mixed media that you can layer over the failed bits, ones you don’t like or die cut them out. It’s funny, I’ve always thought of mixed media as not CAS.
I tend towards CAS, and a lot of mixed media I have seen is most definitely not CAS. So learning all the time, aren’t we!? For those wondering what I’m doing a lot more challenges at the moment it’s because with summer down under and I have more free time to play! These are our summer holidays. I love them. Can’t swim at moment though as have leg infection which is a bit of a shame. But means I can read books and that’s good!
Items used: Both dies are CCD, masks are 1. From cheap craft shop (Stripe one) 2. Kaisercraft, two Bokeh stencils on Wednesday's desk. Inks Distress and Chalk ink. Ink dusters with DI and TH sponge with chalk.
To encrusted Jewel technique, mentioned on WOYWW, see Loll's magnificent card HERE. Except I used different colours as I've different stash. I've done more of this jewel encrusted technique with layering embossing powder. However you definitely need a heat mat if using a pan or griddle. It went through baking paper. I had a bit of mess, not much but some. One other thing my Shaved Ice melted white. Opaque white, not like Loll's. Even when used green glitter EP on another sample, it was still definitely white/ or really cream. Haven't made the others into cards yet.
MFT Peekaoo window, MB Moonlight butterfly, stamp CCS. TH Mosaic stencil & iridescent paste.
This is totally a CASE from Loll's card. The iridescent EP was winner with purple glitter, EP and turquoise EP with teeny bit of shaved ice. Most blew off on floor as did this one with heat gun. First layer is best as a thick clear then add other layers. Can add glitter which I did, and sequins etc.
Ordered some cheap heat mats on eBay so will try again.
To the Aussie plus shots.
The skies are very blue, no rain for weeks, and the sea is very beautiful, this was the view in the evening of a family members 40th birthday on new year’s eve. It was a memorable day.
They came from Norway for it! I stayed in Norway with them in Aug/ Sept, so this second shot is from Norway.
They lived in the corner flat right at the top of that hill in Trondheim. The hill has a bike lift they lock in and it takes them up! It's a university town.
I’d loads of hill walking there and was glad I’d done some here too. Had an amazing view.
It’s very beautiful as were all the places I visited in my trip, but to be honest I believe I live in the best place in the world and that I am so very blessed to live here!
Thanks so much for popping over for peek and chat. You’re such a blessing to me. Don’t forget my new blog too over there at Wonderful Words of Life. I’d love it if you’d pop over, join and say hi there too. 💕
May God bless your day wherever you may be,

Today's thought: {**NOT my calligraphy, off Google}.
"The JOY of the LORD is thy Strength." Yes, of ourselves we have no strength. But we do in the Lord. And being thankful in midst of trouble makes us stronger in Him.
