Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Christmas Stamp Relief Snippets + Masking Stencil + Window card + WOYWW

Okay it’s WOYWW day again ie desk day, What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday, over HERE ๐Ÿ˜ at Julia's .. so where’s my desk!? Actually it's four desks, over a few weeks!

Desk 1: Happened to come across this video by Christine Stokes (link here)Chrissie used 5 layers of toilet paper = snippets, I used four (forgot one layer). I think I'd use serviette next time, I've done this with serviette and die cutting, although didn't wet it, added card base too - See it here. Very successful too.

Snippets card (and a NBUS, as definitely never used loo paper on a card before!๐Ÿ˜‚)
Added shimmer paints to define the letters, NOEL, this large wooden stamp was a gift from Ginny Maxam in US. Extended in shimmer green the quite small rectangle die .. cut it thrice to make green scalloped strip base.

Desk 2: Masking was inspired by a GinaK Insta movie - this is HERE closest I can find to it, as she used a stencil and masking on it.

Ahh, one I watched, here tis! Both are great five min videos, anyhoo ๐Ÿ˜‚✅

Next desk 3 for Christmas cards, brayering. (Desk 4 is bonus background done while had brayer out - for brayering background file, note colours do fade some)

It's an idea that popped into my head as I was waking up one morning, seen the window die the day before in an old blog post, plus stamp was using too in other set! Adding another very old sentiment stamp from early 1990s. Decided it needed another appearing. Most of my crafty stash these days may be labelled DISCONTINUED. But still too many NBUS, think next set of dozen Christmas cards must use some NBUS.

The embossing of "Christ the Savior is born" is two tone, gold and platinum EP.

Loved effect, not that it's very visible in photos..

These are roughly A2 cards, as can get two of them and one larger 5 x 7” out of one A3 top quality 300gsm white cardstock sheet. Three cards out of one sheet is very economical.

Thankfully I’ve a new ream and a half of it left, as probably very expensive now, as thought it was when bought it years ago. So a dozen each in two designs, plus 1 in NOEL stamp = 25 cards, roughly a third of number needed.

Give some as presents at Christmas.

We’ve had some lovely clear days with stunning winters skies, this very short video is one taken and shared on the day I was out walking.

It was very cold about 4.30pm, the dogs didn’t notice cold, but swam joyously with the swiftly, moving creek tide. One more obedient than the other, he took the longest route possible! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Took some still photos, too. Different days, my dad loved to paint these skies, see one of his here.

This is a photo of him (in 1970s) painting up on top of lookout above our coastline, it’s the only one I have of him painting ...

A memorable day, I took it on my first proper camera (a Ricoh), circa 1975.

Well, busy with birthday cards too, but share another day. Started also another dozen Christmas cards, so almost caught up when done, as was way behind. July 25th reminder helps me get skates on.

Thanks so much for popping over - I really appreciate it so much! I will visit as many as I can, but iPad now blocks all bloggers except those with pop up windows comment boxes.

May God bless you and all whom you love,

Shaz in Oz.x

Thought for the Day:

I think this is very hard today... to

"BE *STILL"

and

"*KNOW that I am God.."

two deliberate actions with a liberating result.

For then we are free to love and worship God, Who loves us so very much.

Stillness brings peace and rest, contentment .. as we rest in His everlasting arms.

Rejects Made Good + NBUS, Snippets, WAW

Some special things to share today - do you have some rejects in craft room, wool/ sewing cupboard, garden shed, etc? I do, today I’m sharing a card (or three) in part rejects - made good, also applying other ways.

“Rejects” - first similar to shared before (left over of said sample, diff. stamp used tho).

This is a continual lesson to me that something not good, may be made so.

Piece on the left was a whimpy, inky green embossed piece. Nice folder, nice colour, but messed up watery ink idea -> reject pile.

Spied it one day - thought Versamark + perfect pearls - voilรก! It’s stunning.

An oriental folder, so added CCD oriental diecut (up close).

Another reject - copied J.McGuire idea of EF with foiled card + sand top layer off to highlight. Mm, NOT good thick foil, thin cheapie, not so great effect. Then saw this brilliant idea by Maxine also using an Altenew 3D, this a CASE (kinda), Maxine’s beautiful, clever card is HERE! Border floral die MB, Heros Arts Hugs Prayers stamp & die.

Next reject is me  …

Some who come this way may wonder why I always mention Jesus, & to be BE SURE you know Him as your Saviour or not. This the WHY.

I've a chronic, congenital (from birth) incurable Malady, (*aka Darnell’s instructions to use malady, a much nicer word๐Ÿ˜‚)

Drs can’t explain me, only God can!

I say it’s allowed of God. Originally there were NO mistakes in God’s PERFECT creation, but sin spoiled it…

NOTE: It is NOT GOD’s choice  -> sorrow, grief, pain, sickness, hunger, famine, wars, suffering, death, a broken world -> ALL is a result of mankind’s sin.

God though (IF we let Him do it) is lovingly working in His way for GOOD!

Especially in me, taking me broken, sinful, lost - saving & blessing me.

My malady means I’m literally kept alive by medication. No meds I’m dead. Many others are. So not so unique there!

Quite a number of times though, I’ve collected close calls.

God wisely decides to knock off bit more of roughness of this“earthen vessel” ๐Ÿ˜‰ & keeps me here. ๐Ÿ˜†

When one lives day by day like this, one knows how SHORT life is - ETERNITY is ONLY ever a breath away.

Yet it IS for us ALL

WHEN God says time to go, I’ll say hallelujah, heaven, here I come - BUT  I speak up lovingly while I can. Each post may be my last.

We must be ready for eternity NOW - when we are dead, that is too late.

ESPECIALLY TODAY - happiest of the year!

It’s  RESURRECTION DAY.

The FIRST DAY of the week,  almost 2,000 years ago, when our LORD Jesus arose from the dead.

Jesus did NOT stay dead, He defeated Satan’s  power of death over US.

Death was punishment for all our sin & wicked ways.

On Resurrection Day the LORD Jesus Christ  miraculously arose from the dead.

This MEANS we too can live forever with Him, BY FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ alone.

There is an EMPTY TOMB, an EMPTY CROSS, where our sin’s price was paid by Jesus’ blood on Calvary’s tree. Forevermore ALL who believe in Jesus, will live, too.

***PAID IN FULL***

Jesus, of all preachers in Bible - Old Testament & New Testament was the One Who spoke of hell the most.

Why? Because He KNOWS hell is as real as heaven.

He DIED TO SAVE US from it.

Jesus ALONE FULLY understands, He LONGS that we see it all, too.. examples in Matt. 5, nine times by Jesus in just Matthew Luke 16 parable on it.

Are you sure you have this HOPE in Jesus?? We can be absolutely sure, I trusted in Jesus at 12 yrs old, see here - Who or What is a Christian?

Here is one more card to share, this is Snippetty, too, actually as are the other two cards. MB Prim Poppy die sadly disc.

Favourite stamp again Numbers 6:24-26, by Stampendous, gold embossed. Paper is Washi, by the roll, mostly used now; 25 yrs ago was $10 a roll, here, c. $US7. I’ve two different rolls, now it’s prized, so very expensive. Needed  encouragement cards so more will be forthcoming.

This is whole of the passage, love it in a stamp in KJV, as more complete.

It is a prayer of blessing by Moses for Israel, God’s chosen people, and for us today, too. I pray this verse for YOU and ALL your dear ones.

The LORD bless you all & keep you all,

Make His face to Shine on you and be gracious unto you all,

The LORD lift up His countenance upon you all,

And give you all His PEACE,

in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer hugs,

Well, yes, I’m back! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I’ve been absent for some reasons, mixed, will share below. First of all as it’s Wednesday, time for another WOYWW, What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Over HERE ๐Ÿ˜ at Julia's, Queen of Deskland, there's worldwide desks there is loads of fun!

My desk is quiet today but loads to share… inky fun a few weeks back! The inky background was built up in various stages of ink applications, brights first as shown, mostly Distress Ink, but if didn’t have shade wanted, just substituted. Then added deep colours in black, Chipped Sapphire blue, deep brown.

The latter just in selected areas not all over. At the end water is put into one hand then clapped over it to get a spread out sprinkle, coming from various directions, used paper towel to lift water and colour after 10 to 30 seconds. Then flicked with small short paint brush iridescent medium mixed with white reinker on mat, and also DI blueprint sketch. Pretty much followed video below. Card down below.

Video on HOW TO creating background - link here if not showing.

I’ve been crafting in weeks of absence, although not blogging on here. I’m not as well some days, need more rest plus other time demands.
Here is card above for Mister six, it was a shaker card, the real colour is the shade on left. (I’m linking this card over to Beccy’s Digi Challenge here - check it out do, she has freebie images and paper, really lovely!)
Cards galore to share, way behind on Christmas cards. First lot of Christmas cards are using a NBUS paper bought near Llandudno with Margaret, it is white frosted and silver Christmas pack, we went halves, I’d bought an ombrรฉ pad with Marilyn in Florida on same miracle trip in 2018, and combined the two on this set of cards.
The nativity die in silver is by Impressions Obsession, MB Star die set and 1990s wood mount Joy stamp. Bottom sentiment set is Colorado Craft nativity set.
More Christmas cards using a new to me NBUS 3D Botanical folder by Sizzix.
Technique is sanding foil card for emphasis as shared
on Loll’s blog.
With Britannia dies poinsettia, lge medium die. Verse is old 1990s Joy to the world stamp PSX, heat embossed. Made multiple in two styles, haven’t photographed the other.
For the Aussie shots… a bit of garden, when I’ve been well that’s where I’ve been! Had help too, as too much for my little hands.
The first collage, has three roses that my dad planted here from cuttings in 1974! Still same bushes!! Cuttings were from a high school friends mother’s rose garden. Very special, and I’ve just been in touch with that very same friend, after more than fifty years, which is an added blessing!
The 3 dozen rose bushes this year have responded to extra TLC due to our month long lockdown (NO CASES here, in God’s mercy). Once over, I’ve been visiting lonely friends or folks in nursing homes with flowers, see two bunches ready to go in top left image - mixed bunches of sweetpeas and roses. Delivered two more today. As I chat a lot, it takes time!๐Ÿ˜‚

Also sharing a collage of seascapes, as we’ve had amazing skies on my walks, so very blessed to live where I do.
That's it for today.

Hope this finds you well (for you๐Ÿ™), praying too that God will richly bless and keep you safe and those you love, too.
Re health: lately been really unwell with lower molar extraction, which is still causing issues, but will, in God's mercy, improve. ๐Ÿ˜
Thanks so much for popping over and saying hi, I really appreciate you very much, will do my best to reciprocate, hopefully tooth pain and my oomph ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™ will co-operate.
Prayer hugs,๐Ÿ™๐Ÿค—

Thought for the day.
Although no craft blog I have been posting regularly on my Christian blog!  Today’s verse and share is in second part an excerpt from my last post.

When I was first teaching in Melbourne there was a lovely landlady, she had a favourite saying:  “ Sufficient unto the day!”
Meaning she’d done enough for today!
I’d really want to finish it for her, as it was a verse from the bible, which Jesus shared to encourage folks.
It was part of the well known Sermon on the Mount which are chap 5, 6, 7 of Matthew.
Basically this verse says
DON”T WORRY!
Easy to say, hard to do. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ™
But let’s look at the verse. *Take no thought, ie don’t worry about tomorrow. Be prepared, but don’t worry.
Note the LORD Jesus emphasised “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof”!
That’s the bit I wanted to add for Mrs Graham.
Grace is only given for today.

Today’s worries are enough.

So don’t borrow tomorrow’s as well!

Brushos with Kazelkraft Angry Penguins + Tarnished Foil + WOYWW

Well, everyone I’m back again with another WOYWW, What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Over HERE ๐Ÿ˜ at Julia's, Queen of Deskland,  there's worldwide desk exploring to be found!

My first desk is the making of a card for a very dear 89 y.o friend called Iris - an iris card!

I had no ideas for her card this year, usually do an iris card. Just before starting, providentially my friend Anne in France sent me a photo of her magnificent Irises and Lupins! I wondered if they’d work? My first idea was dumped because my printer refused to do as planned. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ I won’t tell you how many card sheets I wasted in that endeavour! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ Take Two.. a struggle, again because of printer, but eventually  it worked! Yay, so thankful.

I’d edited the image to print a really light background sheet, then layered up central images in the "Spotlight" technique, for the main focus.
Yay, happy! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ the finished card.

Next desk… using the lovely penguin set from our very dear ShazSilverwolf at 2018 crop in Llundudno. I find it strange they’re called Angry penguins because they look like they’ve attitude, more than anger?!! Here are previous cards with Kazelkraft (145) Angry Penguins stamp set. They’re made with the Joseph’s coat of many colours technique.

This one is totally different, I love how varied uses of stamp set can be. Memento Paris Dusk + DI Frayed Burlap for stamped images, overlaid with Versamark and clear EP to seal it for the watery background.

Watercolour background is brushos - Cobalt, Sandstone, Yellow. Sprinkle lightly on blending mat, spritz vigorously with water, smooch cardstock through colours till happy.

This is a really great ✔️ brusho technique, as the colour doesn't get too intense and if not quite deep enough just repeat or move colours with watery brush around till happy, have a lot more control.

Technique on Heather Telford's blog

Used the left over colours to paint the penguins, add more if needed. Used white gesso for snow at penguins feet + background stamps Newsprint + Marble by Kaisercraft.

Now the bottom layer on card is 3D SB embossing folder Celtic weave. Used a cereal packet for that, as coloured a lovely mottled sandstone (cardstock = frozen food packet, a heavy duty white card + print seals it on back - see below).

Decided to use
Tarnished Foil aged look on card base.
Three different types of EP, a chunky EP - Eucalyptus (soft verdigris effect), glitter bronze + WOW Platinum, to tone down bronze.
Added Archival Cobalt ink highlighting EF pattern, reheated so the ink blended into it.
Happy camper. ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜ Added a string, brad, etc to side. Happy Birthday x 3 layers (Elizabeth Craft).
Nephew's B/D card, done!

**New subscribers or old please join/ rejoin by subscription tab on top sidebar, as Feedburner will not send emails from July 1.

**Need to select tab for desktop site, to see sidebar and wait for sidebar to load. No idea why it takes so long, sorry.

Well, a few Aussie photos to close.

For the squeamish, a carpet snake is totally harmless, except to rodents, etc.
Snow scenes by family are last Friday on the Northern Tablelands, 150km west to Great Dividing Range, or 90 miles away. A very early snowfall as autumn leaves + snow! Second is of Standing stones (see link) & snow!
Some flowers - zygo cactus in magnificent garden in Qld!
That's it for today.  Hope this finds you well, praying God will richly bless you and those you love, too. Thanks so much for popping over and saying hi, I really appreciate you.

Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x

Thought for the day:

A day with the LORD is a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day...

To our finite, time-limited mind - this so sounds contradictory.

However, God is ETERNAL.

Time has no beginning or end to Him.

We are the opposite, on earth we are totally time limited (& don’t we know it!).

Some may look at this verse (or verses like it) and use it to prove how wrong (in their minds) and faulty the Bible is.

However God's ways are NOT our ways.

We are in a hurry, He is not.

"He is long-suffering, NOT willing that any should perish.."

So, I shouldn't be impatient with God, for His times or ways are never mine.

Any Christ-follower, believer, Christian truly knows that:

"My times are in Thy Hand..."

Aren't they the wisest, safest, kindest, most loving Hands of all?

Love You, Lord.
