Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW + Total Snippets Card x 2

Hi everyone time yet again... blink! blink! and it's time for another desky share in Deskland! Come and join up with WOYWW or what is on your workdesk Wednesday - over at the Queen of desks, our wonderful Julia!
My desk this morning.. I had received yesterday one of the Chinese dies from eBay, a large snowflake - this one only took two weeks, it was about $3. Have some more coming too. It cuts well, the card in front was masked and its for a FB challenge where we had to chose a colour chart choice this was mine (see below). I also wanted to make a card for dear lady ill in nursing home hence the verse I chose to out on this card.

TamuraColor1 Color Palette

When you dont quite have right colours you substitute ..or that's what I did. Took white snippet from a reject card, and the butterfly stamp set (by Stampendous). Masked off section and pearl embossed butterflies then inked with three colours dont think I like the grey with it , London Fog by Memento. Verse is one I have on my bedroom wall how I need it too.
"Trust in the LORD, Rest in the LORD, Wait patiently for Him. Fret not thyself."
I made another card with Midnight 1 Color Palette

When I have a colour challenge I go to my packets of snippets as they're all in colour sorted. All these including the verse + image came from snippets folders. Even die cut the green piece as well as embossed it, for another card but not used it. So this card went together very quickly not like the first one.

A great verse for us to remember...
"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not His benefits."
How we are blessed in our lands for freedom! Image is digi and by Nicecrane but not longer available
The finished card... now to our Aussie views, on our Sunday icecream drive again!

Summer has come downunder... here 'tis warm already and in shorts and top till late in evening as evenings are balmy - salad weather. We need rain of course, but stormy season is here, so had little last night. There have been bad bushfires already down south of here so I pray summer is kind to us.
Thanks so much everyone for popping over for a peek and chat, may our God bless your day wherever you maybe... especially the USA, with the uncertain election.

"Trust in the LORD, Rest in the LORD, Wait patiently for Him. Fret not thyself."

Lovely cards but I must say I adore the second one. What a gorgeous digi image it is that you have used - quite reminds me of a Chinese design somehow.
Thanks for the ice cream drive views Shaz, they always brighten our days o er here when the weather is not so kind to us. It has gone terribly cold these last few days.
Hope you are well, remembering you in prayer each night.
Love and Blessings

Hi Shaz. What lovely cards - I really like the very first one - beautiful the way you have put the colours together. Gorgeous sunny shots of Oz, too. Can it really only be a week and a half ago that I was with my family strolling through Chatsworth Gardens in tee shirt and trousers??? Now I need a thick sweater, rain gear, and thick socks. The temperatures have plummeted, there is snow on the mountains, and we have suddenly plunged from a beautiful warm autumn into a hastily arrived winter!!! It does my heart good to see those blue seas and skies.
Take care. God bless.

That is a lovely die, and heck, what a bargain! Loving your colour challenge cards, you've been so busy! I think you've perfectly fulfilled the challenges too, and of course, reaching for the snippets....how very organised and disciplined!
Lovely to see the start of summer down there, hope you're feeling better every day now. Xx

Wow, that snowflake is so detailed! That die is very cheap, I've just seen some others on Shaz Silverwolf's blog too!

Happy WOYWW. I really like that first card - the masking is very effective with white space left to draw the eyes in. It's freezing here in England, so I'm trying not to be jealous of the fabulous views and weather that you have in Oz. Sarah #21

Fabulous beach scenes too!

Hi Shaz, aren't the China dies wonderful value? I've bought a few now, and all work fine, for a fraction of the big name prices too. Lovely cards, you always make such beautiful creations. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #8 xxx

Beautiful cards, Shaz. I've not heard of the China dies - must check them out because, if the lovely snowflake is anything to go by, they seem very good value. I like how you have substituted for colours you don't have with excellent results. As we are now into below zero temperatures here I'm just a teeny weeny bit envious of your sunshine though I do hope you are spared the fires you talk about. Happy WOYWW and have a great week. I really love the snowflake...can imagine them pasted to my windows for Christmas. It must be strange to be making winter cards for Christmas when you're enjoying summer.

Beautiful cards today Shaz, lovely stamping and masking on the first one, I like the colours too-including the grey:) The image used on the second card is so pretty, great design too and great use of your 'left overs'! I always have good intentions of sorting my 'scraps' into colour coded order but sadly never get around to it, so all mixed together in a drawer...can take ages to find the colour I need!
Stunning photos...blue skies and beautiful beaches, wonderful!

The colors in your first card remind me of the American flag, very apt today. The damask one and the birds are so lovely and yet again waterdripping over the Aussie landscape and weather, have a nice day, Vicky #9

Happy WOYWW and congrats on the No.1 spot. How clever to have your scraps organised by colour - I have got mine in 3 boxes (white/cream, colours, patterns). Lovely idea to make cards using colour palettes. Ali x #12

Beautiful cards, the snowflake was very good value!
Yes Summer has arrived a little early for us all, we could also do with some rain up here on the Sunshine Coast, although Brisbane had large hailstones yesterday.
Gorgeous pictures!!!! I do hope that you are keeping well. Thinking of you.

Beautiful cards! I like the first blue-red stamped cards very much.

Can you imagine we are getting 50 cm of snow here and more is to come when you can sit in the hot sun. Ok, I love the snow but I love the sun even more. :D

Happy WOYWW to you!

Loving the big beautiful snowflake die Sharon! And I am loving both of your cards my friend. The butterfly card is just beautiful. I love the color combo and love how you embossed the butterflies. And of course verse is so perfect for your ill friend. How great you got to use up some of those snippets on your second card. Love the embossing on both panels and that curved scallop. Again, your verse is perfect and I love the sweet bird image. Ahhh, those views! Wish we were back in summer again. lol I love going for ice cream, but if I lived where you do I'd be eating ice cream all the time just to walk on that beach! Beautiful!!! Hugs, Brenda

Wow, your calligraphy and your cards are so beautiful. It is a real delight and feast for the eyes to visit your blog and see all the gorgeous things you have made. Thanks for visiting my blog. I appreciate your generous comments. Enjoy your coming summer. We are headed into winter, or at least autumn. The leaves are falling off the trees. Fewer are as colorful as usual.

What gorgeous cards Shaz - love your ink shading. I am intrigued by the dies you are buying from China - do you use Alibaba??
Love your photos - summer is very slow in coming here - it's only the past two days that we have got over 20 oC.

It always seems weird to me to hear just the opposite of our weather to yours, it looks like a wonderful place to enjoy some ice cream :)

Two beautiful cards inspired by color challenges. I do find them tricky, at least those with 3 + colors. But they're really helpful to avoid one getting stuck using the same color combos all the time, which I sometimes tend to.
