Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW, Serviette card + Balloon Girl, etc

Hi there folks - we already yet again it is WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday! Do pop over to our Julia's blog at the Stamping Ground, which is home base for WOYWW, over here.

The frequent visitors to this blog might notice my desk is a tad tidier ... yesss! there is actually space ... yes space! on my desk. Okay had "mahossive" (as Darnell would say) clean up of snippets that were toppling over on left side of desk, culling and resorting. Now I can breath again as I work. However, within one card make have a pile again on left of ones made as when making this card.
My calculation on which die to use were out so successfully wasted several pieces of card.. but now on the way, just working on the Happy birthday to put under image. Have pearls on back right with my embossing powder containers as wasn't sure whether to use black and so clear EP or gold EP on the ODB happy birthday greeting.

On my desk today but at the back usually and out of sight, is the "balloon girl" as I call her, she was made in October for me by Thomas and Emily and flew in when I went to visit them.
Her hair was done a lot better when she first arrived here .. she has fallen out of her basket a few times though, and she is supposed to be me if I recall correctly :D yet to go up in a balloon, though! ;O

Back on this post here I was showing you how to make serviettes into DP for cards and this card was started on the desk - this is one half of serviette and the other card is also on link above. The "just for you" die is by Sue Wilson, backed by Sizzix Lattice EP. SB Curved border die also used and snippets of both.

Aussie shots of the day are from a visit last week ... and here are the yellow tailed back cockatoos at their most well behaved!?! they are rowdy bunch!

This is their momentary evening roosting spot, overlooking the beach.. not bad, eh? I took some videos too which may get around to loading one day, and also heaps more photos of headland etc.
Well, I'm delighted to re-welcome new wonderful encourager - Jean has rejoined due Bloggers crazy antics ... so do pop over to Jeans blog and say hi!
Many thanks every one for popping over for a peek and chat and may God bless your day wherever you may be.

Shaz in Oz.x
Also want to join over with:

Aww, I love Balloon Girl, wouldn't we all like to get in and fly away once in a while?! She's obviously been on loads of adventures....
Those blooming scraps keep filling up your workspace eh? That's the problem with being as creative as you are :-)

Aw, the balloon girl is so sweet. Now you must go up in a balloon. Wouldn't you like to go up? I did once and loved it. It was a birthday present for my dad and i got to go with him.
The photos of the cockatoos are brilliant and you live in such a beautiful place!
Thanks for visiting mine,
Happy WOYWW and have a great week.

Hello Shaz, I do hope one day we can all catch up when you come to Sydney. RosA is always so generous with her assortment of dies .... I feel I need never buy any as I have a lovely supply already cut for me. Gorgeous card and stunning birds.

Hi Shaz! I love both of your cards and super photos too! Really sorry but the Playground is down to only one entry per week at the moment, and it's going to stay that way to ease the load a bit on commenting - as well as levelling out the playing field for folk who can only manage to make one card. I hope you keep coming to play once a week though - have deleted your additional entries :(

Love

Di xx

Wonderful goings on there this morning! Love your card showing there. Oh what wonderful birds and to be able to look outside and see those would just make me such a happy girl! And the ocean is just a huge plus as well. I'm not playing today but wanted to swing by and say hello!

Funny how that happens, you have a clean up are working for 5 minutes and you can't see that you've cleaned anymore :-) but that does mean that you're crafting.happy woyww Vicky#3

Love the black cockatoos and the scenic photo - keep them coming as I so enjoy seeing things like this from you.
Balloon Girl, does she keep you as much company as Katy Koala does me? I was Facetimed by a friend in America at weekend so as my iPad was in my craftroom I was looking around and introduced her to Katy.
Made me smile when I saw your "tidier" desk. Isn't it funny how we regard our working area as tidier if we can see a bit of a mat on it? Love the card you are showing us this week.
Hugs & Thanks for visiting me earlier - Neet 4 xx

Morning Shaz, Love the birds on the bird table.
Also love the serviette card and idea, I thought I knew what I was going to do today, but I might have to get the iron out and play at this.
Bless you

Well done on the mahoosive tidy, Shaz - trouble is - snippets seem to breed, don't they?! Lovely card on your desk - it's going to be just great when completed - You make such beautiful, thoughtful cards. Well done.
I just love the balloon girl - trust she takes you for a great ride when on her next adventure.
Take care. God bless.

Good morning Shaz. I think that your snippets might be like my little pieces of yarn. They seem to multiply and take over wherever I'm sitting and working. Beautiful cards as always and I love your balloon girl. Does she really look like you? It seems so strange to me to think you have birds like that flying around your yard. We have sparrows and robins and yes, the occasional eagle. Have a lovely day my dear friend.
Blessings, Betsy

I'm just in from my afternoon school run and having done the morning school run and a full day of sewing in between I'm feeling rather jaded but as you can imagine those little ones never fail to put a smile on my face so it's all worth it.
Thanks for dropping by at mine earlier.
I love the balloon girl and those birds are amazing. Thanks for sharing them.

I make a lot of mess when I'm making cards and layouts, but usually have to tidy up in between (I know, I'm so anal about it!) Love that bright red too - it's so eye-drawing x

Love our desk Shaz - and that card on it looks wonderful - the balloon girl is so sweet - I have various pieces of art from grandies in my home too, but not at that level yet.
Your blue and gold card is stunning .
Those birds are striking to look at, but I can imagine they could be quite rowdy and destructive in their 'play'.
Blessings

Oh the struggles of keeping a cleared desk, I haven't accomplished that feat yet! lol At one time I could keep a clean desk, but those days have came and went sadly. I love, love balloon girl, how cute she is! I also love your beautiful card, it is just stunning. I really love the blue and gold together. And I love how your napkin came out, I haven't tried this yet, but have one ready to go to try it. Hugs, Brenda
