Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

They simply don't get my weird muliple medical chronic conditions! 😊
In end no choice left, but to operate or else I wouldn't make it.
Fought to be home again in charge of own meds, in care of family, as my system is very different to medical norm. They do best but don't get it it ...
Still struggling greatly, tummy poisoned by infection, life saving antibiotics, with insomnia+++... 1am as write.
Just to be interesting, am also in middle of root canal of troubling tooth but God worked a miracle so now last appointment on it on Monday I want to saI know our God is a miracle worker, I've seen so many in last week or so. I so praise Him for His many, many mercies😊😊😊😊😊😊

Shaker Card + Elizabeth Crafts Happy Birthday die Bizzy Bec's DT post + Friday Smiles

(WOYWW post down below or click here)

Hullo there everyone, time again for a mid month post for my DT over at Bizzy Bec's.. and those of you who know me, know I often do a tutorial.
Today - shaker cards using positive and negative of a word die - a happy birthday die!
You get two cards for the price of one!
The Elizabeth crafts Happy Birthday word die, a stunning die, very easy to use positive and negative.  Also using the Cottage Cutz Stitched ovals.

Step 1 die cut out the centre of the shaker card with die cut of choice. On underside add the acetate for the shaker bits to go under. I put on the top of it (but not essential) a frame from same size oval and next one up and mount with double sided mounting tape, cut to size and pop it up on the outside. see below.
Step 2 the completed front part of the card, ready with acetate, frame and embossed front sheet.
Step 3: Here's a snippet of inky photo paper, made with Distress Ink pads (Mustard seed, Spiced marmalade pads, SU Lively lavender + Peeled paint re-inkers) and damp crumpled cling wrap method. Gloss card is smooched with random inks, damped scrunched cling wrap is laid over it to dry.
Add double sided tape to back of piece for word die. Cut the word die.
Step 4: Added the sheet of photo paper to a snippet of white card, after cutting it, peeling off the positive of the word die to expose the intact negative of the die on lower layer.
I have cut another word die cut out of white craft foam (adding double sided tape on the back of it also), for the happy birthday die.
Lay the positive layer on top of foam cut so it pops up nicely on the card.
Step 5: I decided I needed to match the colours of the die cut with the background for shaker, so really mixed media here! Some torn up tissue paper, glued on scrap of card, coloured with similar toned sprays.
Step 6: Here are all the shaker elements in the inside of the foam layer, it was die cut with inside size die, then adhered with tape + non tacky glue to the back. I say non-tacky cos tacky glue can stick to sequins, etc.
Step 7. Add seal on back of shaker, I used some anti static powder on back of the acetate. The seal on back of foam needs to be complete before turning it over.

Completed card 1, also used embossing folder by *Taylored Expressions called Snow fall, *available from Bec.- although not on site. I actually embossed it from both ends to extend the embossing.
Card 2: You probably cant see it but used Spellbinder Pierced Rectangles die set to cut out the photo paper. Just used the pierced section to give a pierced edge. Two snippets of green used here,  folder is a 5 x 7" Cuttlebug one called Dominoes.
May God bless your day, every one - wherever you may be!
Thanks so much for popping over for a peek and chat.. will return your visits as soon as able, as am bit behind .. sorry!

WOYWW Calligraphy Hudson Sleeps here

Been bit AWOL in blogland of late.. just warning you, it is the three weeks of le tour de France, which means late nights in Oz for this keen watcher.. Mind you, dont last till end each night like used to, watch it rest the next day. My brother Pete is over riding in it again as tour guide for Bikestyle tours. Yesterday was stage 10, here's a photo from ride of the course, they don't do all of it. "Allez, allez!" (think this is midi Pyrenee's.)
However this is WOYWW - so to my desk or desks! Look at my happy mail this morning.. from three different people I have never met but on the net! All had put in die cuts, one from USA and two from Oz. All offered at different times but arrived together! so linking over to WOYWW (What is on Your Workdesk Wednesday, hosted again by dear Lunch Lady Jan.
Thanks, dear LLJ! )
(EDIT update from LLJ post - we will back at our Queen of desks blog next week, Queeen Julia - woo hooo! ever so glad .. Praying on for her health though, each day :D)
Right is a die, from Our Daily Bread Lacey squares, a very kind gift from *Mehrll, Sharing Simple Things see here! She also sent the die cuts in front and stamped items.
On far left from *Carol (of Crafty Carol's Cards) my fellow DT friend in Brissy, she sent me the white flower die cuts to try from Heartfelt Creations die, (sorry, I kind of cut them off, I was in hurry this morning).
Then dear WOYWW-er *RosA (of Paperchase), who I have actually met now, several times, sent me some more snowflakes at the back! and a card (which may upcycle for 25th July challenge at Scrappy Mo's). THANK YOU ALL, my dear kind friends!
Another desk today or where I was doing a bit of work, helping a very kind male family member to sand off the old paint and rust off the garage door. It is now painted with base coat of anti rust primer, so it is a khaki. :D
This is actually an April desk, but I wasn't up to posting it so doing it now ... yes, some calligraphy, and sketching, or copying of a sketch. Adding here the PVA glue size to the black lettering to raise it.
Colouring the image here with Prismacolor set of pencils. I  use a clip on magnifier glass for such close work. Bought it years ago from Aldi but haven't seen them again, otherwise would get another one. It really is brilliant!

I didn't frame it to send to Hudson, but sent it unframed, then they can chose how it is to be done.
Now to the Aussie shots. First is it the three kookaburra (or blue winged kingfisher) in our back neighbour's yard, taken on 30x zoom.
And then the red Poinsettia in our courtyard garden. There is pink one too but it isn't out all the way yet so will share it later. Also have a lemon/ cream one in back yard should take it for next week.
This is quite a large one, and so very vibrant and bright has been like this for a month already. I expect it to last another two months at least. They lvoe this spot.
Well, happy WOYWW, everyone ... and thanks again to my very kind three bloggy mates .. so very kind to send me new things to try out! Fun coming ... in between watching le tour!
Please say hi - to let me know you've been by!
May God bless your day wherever you maybe!

Bizzy Bec's Anything Goes Challenge - Gilding Flakes, etc.

Hullo everyone .. another post for Bizzy Bec Online Store it's anything goes at the Monthly Challenge for July, 'cos June went in blink!
For the  "Anything Goes Monthly Challenge"  the winner worldwide receives either a die or stamps prize from Bizzy Bec's..
For my cards today I used one of the Bizzy Bec Card Embellishment packs
all are 40% off ie $5.95!! very cheap.
This is no 11 Bizzy Bec Card Embellishment Kit. I made two cards out it, had already used some flowers on this card back here.
I decided I wanted to change the metal on this embellishment ... why? because I could :D I decided to use the only Gilding flakes I have (Egyptian Gold), very rarely used so looked up on You tube how to play with them.
Put a little of Gilding flake Glue on scrap paper, spread it gently out with make up sponge and applied it evenly over the embellishment.
Added gilding flakes and pressed them onto the embellishment well with fingers.

Burnished piece and put back into container any left over as did all this on a scrap piece of copy paper.
I decide to stamp with gilding flakes too (Used Pre-order Gilding flakes - Egyptian Gold). Had snippet of vellum sitting on my desk for ages.
Key note: if stamping with tacky Gilding Glue (Pre-order Cosmic Shimmer Gilding flakes glue) you must clean it off ASAP with a good stamp cleaner. I used kitchen detergent and Stazon cleaner mixed together. You apply the glue in same fashion with a sponge gently over surface taking care not to push into into stamp grooves.
The stamp is Darkroom Door Gum Trees set - With Sympathy stamp.

I 3D’ed the rose on this in simple cut around method (see here).
Popped it up with silicone glue.
You can see that started cutting it in top picture, but I hadn’t glued it then.

These are all items from the Card Embellishment set, including paper and die cuts, and Sarah Kay image, must confess do like these. I have scanned the image to make a digi for personal use out of it.
So two very different cards for one card set and loads more items left in the Embellishment set 11 with which to play :D
The Sympathy card is already winging its way across the sea to UK.
Thanks so very much for popping over!
Please say hi - to let me know you've been by!
