WOYWW = Brushos with Cling wrap meet Birch tree Die!

hi there one and all,
Firstly to my desk, as it is WOYWW or What is on your Workdesk Wednesday (pop over to Julia's and please join in, do!).
Desk shows some brushos with cling wrap method, which I made after reading this post on Loll's  blog called "Stamping with Loll".

As you can see I've some watercolour paper on which I've liberally sprinkled brushos (Cobalt, Crimson, Yellow Ochre + Black), spritzed with water and shimmer mist, added crinkled damp cling wrap to it and left to dry.
The birch tree die is a CCD to quote RosA, or a cheap china die (look under Lazy Lady on eBay with birch tree in search. I wanted to make this die into a frame although it was meant to be cut out and laid on top.
As you see I managed it, it was tricky die cutting meant you didn't run it through all way either end, but stopped just before it ran out. Then taking a craft knife (which requires a strong, skilful hand and I don't own either!), I trimmed along the top in small cuts to lift out sections between the trunks. Not perfect but most folks wont notice.. just fusspots like me:D
Shimmer on the watercolour paper, pretty pretty and quite cool, eh??
Finished card, added a piece of vellum and a die cut "happy birthday" by Elizabeth Craft Designs from Bizzy Bec's

As you can see the details of the cuts .. the die does cut off bottom and would've done if I'd rolled it through both ends. You can also see the rather imperfect cutting :)
I've made another one of these cards with Penny Black stamp "Bejewelled"... shown first on this post here... have couple more to share yet, too, waiting in wings.
This card was shown back here - in different format and said I didn't like it.. so here is the transformation! LOVE it now!

Thought it time for pineapple update... just a reminder .. this image below is how it was like just after Christmas. So it is half way through its growing stage I would guess,  maybe ripe in May?

We've had some very big seas, this was taken late yesterday afternoon!
There is an east coast low several km south of here, off the coast, hence the big tidal swell, and crashing wind-swept waves..
It really was a strong wind and we felt for this pilot flying into the wind trying to land his plane .. which he did .. see image below.

Thanks so much everyone for popping over and saying hi!
And may God bless your day wherever you may be!

The Brushos background is perfect for that card. I am always amazed at your crafting ability. I never would have thought to run the die through that way to get the ends to turn out like that! And I didn't know it took pineaples that long to mature and ripen. #24

I will definitely have to try that background method with brushos; I've done it previously with distress inks. Fabulous selection of finished cards too. Happy WOYWW Sarah #29

Great technique for the background Shaz, - have you tried shaving foam sprayed into a container the size of your paper, then sprinkled with brushos and lightly place your paper over, lift and immediately rinse off the foam - place flat to dry... - its fab... marbling effect... Dx #32

I tried using cling film with oil paints when I was at college. I enjoyed the effect but absolutely hated using oil paints. Next time I get the acrylics out, I'll try with them. Thanks for the inspiration! Have a great week - EmbroidRage #5 x

I have one cheap china die and it works a pip so why do other dies have to cost so much? Hmmm.... I like your birch scene. Goodness you were brave and resourceful to keep the frame going on it. Lovely cards all of 'em!

I love the beautiful colors in your penny black flowers, gorgeous card!
The butterflies are so pretty and perfect to go with that verse!
Wow that is so cool watching your pineapple grow.
Looks like you had some wild waves going on there, it is amazing how rough it can get.
