Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Penny Black Poppy Stamp, Washi Card + WOYWW

hi there everyone! Yes, it’s Wednesday again, *blink* and it’s here!!
Time for WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday.. pop over to Julia’s Stamping Ground to check out much better desks than mine!
My desk this afternoon:
Well as you can see I’ve some inky business going on here, oxides out, two greens + three blues DOx smooched on paper + on mat in random fashion and spritzed water then dried. Going to do some bokeh with it I think (How to do Bokeh Here). Also random tools on desk but no scissors, must be a first!
Showing some cards made last year but not shared, busy with dad, a worthy occupation. First is a washi card, was so glad when found this photo. I'd looked on my blog record in April or so to find how I’d done it as couldn’t recall, it wasn’t there. ie unpublished and had given it away.
The Die is triple cut “Just for you” , the top layer is white card with washi tape matching on top and second layer is gold highlight). Plain card with wide Chinese scene washi on white card too, over gold cardstock and sea-blue, rounded top corners.
Second card is obviously an 80th birthday card, I’ve no idea for whom this card was made! It's Penny Black Dynamic Poppy stamp, inked in Soft beige ink, perhaps Memento, coloured with combo watercolour and coloured pencil highlights.
Masked then inked the *background of image while still in Creatif Wonky rectangles with variety of DI to match stamp.
Mounted on embossed Embossaliscious Floral EF, ribbon at bottom, greeting and numbers were die cut out of matching inked cardstock.
Aussie shots:- after showing lemon tree last week blog post (just below this post), I picked two buckets full of lemons today, probably same amount left on tree, will give most away.
Largest very juicy lemon was 540g (1.19lb) breaking last year’s record of just over 500g or half a kilo.
The hibiscus is called Marnie (our name for it). Lovely giant lemon one too, about handspan wide.
Last one is late afternoon photo of the creek, love the colours.
Legs are getting better, thanks everyone. Time heals.
May God bless your day everyone, where you maybe. Thanks for popping over for a peek and especially if you have time for a chat. 😁
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x

Thought for the day:
Love this thought.. the words.. my “life is hid IN Christ, IN God.” have been going round and round in my head this past week, there is nothing that can touch us there that God does not allow, to read more see my blog post Here!

Happy whizz day. I'm rather later starting my visits this week because I've been head down bear making all morning plus have just had to shorten an urgently required pair of trousers too...it's all go here lol.
Wow I love your lemons....what woppers.

Good Morning Shaz! Those lemons! Oh my goodness! I would love to have some of those. I can't imagine living somewhere that you can pick lemons and oranges right off the tree. I remember my first visit to southern California. I was amazed at the oranges laying in the streets. At the time we were paying a LOT of money for oranges in Nebraska. I don't remember the exact amount.
I'm glad to hear that your legs are healing. God is good. I have been praying for you daily my dear friend.

I hope you have a lovely week.
Blessings always,
Betsy

Hi Shaz:
Thanks so much for your comment on the WAW Blog this morning. I was SO tired and so confused when I was doing that devotional last night, and I knew something was wrong. It really threw me, so...thank you. I should have looked closer at it (45 vs. 4-5) when I got confused. I apologize for the mistake on my end. Thanks for helping me understand where I went wrong.
Blessings,
Karen

Hi Shaz. Yes I had asked how you were - good to hear that you are getting better.
Lovely cards and I love the 80th especially.
The hibiscus is beautiful as is the view of the creek.
I'm sorry to say that I haven't received anything yet :-( however I haven't even posted mine to you, had hoped to make something else to go with it but just struggling. I do apologize.
Take care. Anne x 10

Hi Shaz, that looks like one very large lemon. I have no idea what size they can grow to. It reminds me of an occasion when we were in Egypt. There was this great big vegetable which I just could not identify. They had carved into it which made it a little more difficult but it was at least ten times larger than the ones we buy at home and it was an Aubergine and massive so I'm not surprised that you have such large fruit, they obviously like your weather. Pleased to hear your legs are improving too, it just takes time. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x13x

You are always first on my prayer list and I do believe in the power of prayer. May the Lord help heal you.
Oh my goodness, what a lemon that is - what a lot you have but that giant is , well, enormous!
Marnie is beautiful, I love an hibiscus but not seen a lemon one before and that sounds big too.
Beautiful cards, I love how you cut the words out three times and glue them together - so effective.
Enjoy the Bokeh technique, think I am right about it but might go check.
Take care my friend, sending gentle hugs
God Bless, Neet 15 xx

Nope, I was wrong. Remember it now. I was thinking of the Bandana effect.

The Washi card is gorgeous, Shaz. I love the Oriental theme. As always, your Aussie photos are quite beautiful. You really do live in a beautiful corner of the world - as do I, I have to say! We are so blessed to be surrounded by God's wonderful creation. Wow - your lemons are amazing! I love how you've photographed that massive one in all its glory sitting on the scales proving just how big it is!! I use a lemon every day when I make my special rehydration drink but they are tiddlers compared with that one, which would probably make enough of my drink for a week!!

Happy WOYWW and God bless,

Good to read your legs are getting better Shaz, what a blessing.
Just look at those lemons, how proud you must be?? Loving all that inky mess displayed today & lovely to recall those wonderful washi cards. I too have many that I have not shown along with other creations, May just have to trawl through some old files and see what's hiding although time is limited enough at the moment.
Happy WoywW Shaz, take good care of yourself now. Hugs Tracey #4 xx

Photos are a time line too aren’t they, you can tell when you were at the peak of being there for your dear Dad if you sent a card without recording the detail! That wide Washi tape card is lovely, I am a reluctant owner of some rolls and never use them...am totally unsure of Washi’s place in my stash! The sight of those lemons made me swoon....how utterly lovely a pic anyway. Then my eyes just see jars of lemon curd!!

Hi Shaz, I always love visiting your blog, so much on it, and I always find something to go and check out - this week it's wonky rectangles. Love them! Found them at a decent price too! Love your harvest of lemons - I've currently got lots of berries and blackcurrant/redcurrants growing, and apples. Hopefully the birds (and grandchildren) don't eat them all! Gkad to hear your legs are healing up well. Have a wonderful week, Heather xx #26
