Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Brushos with Stencil + Heat Embossed Stamping + WOYWW

Hi there everyone, yes .. tis  Wednesday! Popping over to deskland at Julia’s Stamping Ground! Check out worldwide creativity in What is on Your Workdesk Wednesday! My desk:
Not interesting, yesterday was cleaning day. Unsure what I’m doing here, green card mid-make was a happy accident. Tried to deep white emboss this cardstock. As spritzed it with water for a deeper emboss, a little bit of brushos appeared with droplets on white sheet of card from last use. 😜
Thought: “Mm, wonder? Mm, add more brushos, I think! ”.  Being CB Asian bamboo EF, chose two greens with touch of yellow! Love it, few ideas floating around.
Now to cards created on far right of desk. First two were on last week’s desk.
Probably won’t blog next Wed unless really organised as off to big smoke for annual Drs check, have tests done and one more to do, mostly ok but all in God’s hands.
Card 1: started as brusho background, thought to do reverse resist. Used unmounted PB Winter Ledge stamp given to my by Anne in France (thanks! ❤️), with clear EP on image. Tried to colour lift, found it didn’t work like video, as I’d not used watercolour paper or that quality card.. but back of food box.
Lift as much as possible then added white chalk ink, plus Diamond Dust glimmer mist, then Sapphire DI in spots to highlight. Yes!!! 😁 now happy with it!  Used new Stamp set greeting from Simon Says shown few weeks back, corners are a diecut SB Magnificent Squares, cut in 4. Used outer edge as corner die.
Isn’t this verse beautiful?
"Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted."
One of the Beautitudes, I love it, for a very dear couple who just lost their brother & brother-in-law.
Next is also brushos from last week. Whinged re the TH Mosaic Tag Stencil being crazy narrow. Extended it width wise by matching up pattern, imperfections but hidden with dies as an eye distraction. Love die MB poppy, and  HB die is CCD. Triple mounted die cuts, different but really love it, for special niece who doesn’t look at blog.
Last one started on this desk here. I need another sympathy card but think this washi paper, with Ultimate Crafts Dragonfly and Simon say hugs prayer set is bit too arty for her. She’s very traditional. May try another, can see it, just have to make it. 😉
I love how washi cuts with word dies, do need to back with cardstock, but can use scraps.
Now to Aussie shots - from here, been on several creek walks, did a video but not sure if folks would like it so didn’t upload it. It’s really amazing the bird calls we have.
There are mangroves the scrubby low growing bushes, they grow in salt water, use the low tide breathing tubes to help cope with salt and exude the salt in lumps in their leaves.
There was a lovely white heron in the water feeding .. a fair way off though.
This is a brush turkey (the ones that dig up my garden, I chase them out of our yard!).
This is a tidal creek, these are near town centre.
This image is five mins from my place, left are mangroves. If you scroll in on the green water area there’s lots and lots of fish. Swimming about happily till you throw in a line, very clear water!
Here is a hanger-on! on my garden shirt yesterday when pruning, they are hibiscus beetles, and yes, also called  stink beetles, 'cos they can!

Last image one below I found last night via FB. Have you ever heard of a Purple-crowned Fairy Wren?
I saw a photo of one on FB, thought someone has photo edited, but no! God’s creation is absolutely amazing!
How anyone can think that something as stunning as this can evolve from a blob of goo over millions or billions of years is beyond my understanding.
I think that takes more faith to believe that.. than to believe God did it!
Video well worth watch, it’s up in North Oz as they’re only found in Nth Territory or Nth WA, in pandanus habitat. Photo screen shot from video.

That's it for today, some rain in drought parts. "...mercy drops round us are falling, but for the showers we plead", as the Hymn says.. so praying on!
May God bless you and all you love,
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x
Thought for day:
Oh boy, do I ever do this the wrong way around!
Our default nature is to worry.. then pray then worry some more.
Something wrong with system there. We are to cast our burden upon the Lord as Psalms says, BUT LEAVE IT there, not pull it back with fishing line method!
Not God's way. Pray, plead, trust rest, fret not... as said in Ps. 37.
Linking up to:
3. Crafty cardmakers - Sparkle challenge Sympathy card has sheen from Glimmer mist Diamond Dust. Not captured well. Also hugs prayers washi which has shiny sparkly sliver in washi and in dragonfly and words.
4. Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Hugs Prayers card Fall or autumn colours (found in washi)
5. http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/2019/10/week-542-add-something-gold-andor-silver.html?m=1 add silver/ gold.. a little or lot. Hug Prayers card.

Ah Shaz, true words about the worrying. It’s hard! Love your cards and after my agreeing about the TH stencil, am super bowled over by the beautiful card that you’ve produced. Loving the addition of white on the Winter Ledge card too...dont you use a lot of techniques when you’re creating, I can feel the love in every card.

It is so hard not to worry...sending prayers. Love all the things on your desk this week. Some lovely cards for sure. We have stink bugs here but they are grayish brown at least yours are pretty and that little wren. We have one that favors it but it also is brown. Again I will say how much beauty is around you!

Beautiful cards Shaz. I'm sure the sympathy card will bring comfort to the recipients. You put so much of yourself into each and every card and it shows.
The Aussie shots are also stunning. I must admit to being a tad jealous, (a sin, I know), that you live to close to the ocean. Dennis and I both love the ocean, but we feel blessed if we get to visit every few years or so since it's at least an 8 hour drive from us. And it's in the opposite direction of our family who live in the midwest part of the U.S. I always appreciate each and every photo you share with us.
I am the Queen of worrying. Just ask anyone in our family. I've been like this since I was a small child. I try to hand it over to the Lord. Really I do. But then, I always snatch it back again. I work on this constantly.
I will be in prayer for you with your appointment next week. May it go smoothly with no problems found.
Blessings always my friend and sister,
Betsy

Love the Aussie photos and the quote about worrying, but it was your mourning card with the Bible verse that was my favourite from this week - stunning and I love that verse. Hanging onto it a lot as we come up to the anniversary of Dad's death and I go to Mum's to help clear Gran's flat next week. Happy WOYWW. Have a lovely week. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#6)

A fairy wren is mentioned in a song by John Williamson, which is where I first heard of them. Never did get to see one though. Your cards are lovely and I totally agree with. God is the designer of all living creatures x

Gorgeous cards and I was interested looking at the Harlequin Bug as the shape of it is like one we have in the UK but it's a boring green colour and this one is so colourful. Greta photos too. Wishing you a very happy though rather late woyww, Angela x13x

Loving all the photos Shaz, it's always so interesting to see wildlife from other parts of the world and you always learning something new, such as salt and the mangroves which I've only seen in the States. But my favourite has to the the Wren, we have them here in the garden but nothing like as pretty as ones with purple hears, thank you for sharing.

Nearly forgot why I came, a great collection of cards and the silver dragonfly is gorgeous, many thanks for joining in with our 'Gold/Silver' theme at Allsorts challenge.

Gorgeous cards Shaz - I love the one with the branches that you highlighted with white - that's stunning.
Thank you for sharing the photos and video - yes, I agree, God's creation is awesome! We have the plain green (or sometimes brown) 'stink bugs', and yest they stink!!
Thank you for sharing the photos and video - I agree that God's creation is awesome!
Praying that your doctors appointment goes well - I had a BCC removed from my neck yesterday - so far so good on the healing, and not very painful unless I turn too sharply.
Blessings

How I am so late with commenting on your blog I will never know. I really thought I had done it but then came to check. Sorry for tardiness.
Well worth the look - the blue you achieved on the first card with the Brushos is tremendous. What a gorgeous colour. What a gorgeous card. What beautiful words.
If you had not said anything I would not have known you had joined up the stencil on the next card - in fact I still don't see it.
Thanks for the Aussie photographs - the beetle and the bird remind me of the hymn I often sing in my head "All Things Bright and Beautiful, the Lord God Made them All."
Love and Blessings

Hi Shaz, back of food packet brings its own originality to card making, that is beautiful, especially as it is upcycling in the bargain. Love the verse as well, is it a stamp?
And that purple crowned wren, just another example of our God's amazing creation.
Thanks for sharing
Bless you

I love your cards, Shaz, especially the Brusho ones with the blue theme. Really beautiful. I'm not so sure about the creepy-crawly though - I'm not a bit brave about such things!!! Your quote at the end is so true... I try to follow that guidance but don't always manage to succeed... I'm definitely trying not to worry about the outcome of my PIP assessment, though. The lady was very apologetic and said it had only ever happened to her once before. I was glad to get her again because she was very kind to me.

Thank you for visiting - good points you made about the lighter colour for our new car. I hadn't thought about that before. I mentioned it to my hubby and he said he's still looking for a red car in the car park lol!! I'm so glad you like my completed slippers - it was a really fun project to do, and they are lovely to wear. Nice and warm, and I enjoy the gentle tinkling they make when I walk in them!

Happy belated WOYWW and God bless,
Shoshi #14
